The debt collectors in the UK aren't allowed into your house and you don't have to let them in but when a person doesn't know the law, they will bully/intimidate you into getting their way...that's basically what was happening

@@akooakoo629 No. My comment was in reference to the coupling of the Michael and Dionne characters. I know there’s a Black community in the UK. But in tv and film coming from the UK there’s a lot of interracial pairings. Obviously, Black British are mating within the group. However, that representation seems to APPEAR less than interracial ones.
Also it’s not that Americans DIDN’T know you exist. YOU were exposed to Black Americans by a heavy export of North American media. That was NOT the case on this side of the pond. As matter of fact, a lot of our exposure to Black Brits were after one of you played an AMERICAN character.
I’ll wrap it up like this. I am enjoying SUPACELL, which is a very BLACK BRITISH show.

The "debt collector" folk rely on your ignorance. If you don't know your rights, they'll walk all over you and abuse their power. There's some dude on Tik Tok who does videos where he exposes them and prrotects unsuspecting folk from falling into their trap. With Andre, given his situation as an ex-convict, he didn't necessarily have any leverage and they had the upper hand over him.

I love the realistic nature of how the characters are portrayed. They make silly decisions that frustrates the audience because we are conditioned by DC and Marvel universe to see superheroes as one dimensional characters; either altruistic beings or villains . We rarely see them as complicated beings who live in the grey. The human quality of these characters is what we are drawn to. We need more of it.

In regards to Black Names in the UK. We tend to come from all over, for most immigrants coming from African countries we will have a last name from our country, but a lot of Caribbean families have “white” sounding names due to the nature of the slave trade, so Clifton isn’t too far of a stretch. Same with Black people coming from countries like SA or other heavily colonised african countries. My family is from SA and our last name is Hudson, my grandma wanted to marry a white british man so her and my dad fled SA in the 70’s.

As you kno there were already black people in some of these countries. However, when they decided to enslave and shipped more Africans over they were essentially shipped everywhere in the Caribbeans and a large portion of the Western Hemisphere! Some black people also migrated to other countries to get away from chattle slavery! We are from America and there is a large number of different groups but for you to actually have a deep discussion would depend on your family tree, and what city, state or school you live in or went too!

Those men that came into Andre's house were Bailiffs( Debt collectors)... Depends on how long the debt has been owed and im assuming the amount of money owned the debt collectors can get a letter from the high court similar to a police warrant to enter the property ... But even without a letter they are sneaky and once they step foot inside the property( Like leaving a door open or even just being naive and letting them enter and once inside they can look around and start taking things to cover the debt if it not paid there and then,, also if you had a drive way and a car was there they would clamp it).

When a collector came to my door, he lied on the intercom, claiming to be from the local council. I opened the door while holding a frying pan that I was washing. I wanted to see the so-called council worker buzzing my door. Then he tried to give me a document about whatever and I just looked at him. He was a big guy but I wasn't playing. He looked at the pan and heard me say, "What are you gonna do?" as I calmly used the sponge on the pan, maintaining eye contact with him. He placed his card on the floor and left. I guess he knew his job wasn't worth the pain he'd suffer trying to coerce his way into my home.

In the debts usually work like this... if you don't keep up payments with something, say your phone bill, your debt can be purchased by a debt collection agency, which will then try to get payment from you. In order for them to enter your property they have to have a warrant from a court. However there are limits to the warrant it only allows them to enter if they are let in or there is easy access, like an open door or window. Once they are in, they are legally allowed to execute the warrant and either you pay them or they take items to the value of your debt.
All you have to do is keep the doors and windows closed. They can't force entry unless they have police, who also have to have a warrant of entry.

I think the reason your saying it’s slow is prob because your used to a US style of entertainment where it’s just action action action but we here in the uk like to build character and I like that we do it like that, we telling a story of real like, struggles and ups n downs, we are humanising the story with everyday struggles that we go through as black people … That park Michael and his girl sat in, that park is 2 mins from house, I ride through that park everyday and I used to live in those blocks, I like the fact Rapman telling a story ….

In the UK we prefer slow and steady to fast and furious. Football where you can wait 90 mins for a goal as opposed to American football where if you blink you miss a score.
