@@Kelban4lol He was hit by a gravity hammer and caught off guard. I wonder what would happen if they went toe to toe. Chief gave him a combo despite being discombobulated and it did hurt Atriox. He did what red team couldn’t do. Spartan 2’s get stronger with age so it does make sense.

@Thunder Life Studios you are very correct Spartan 2 can fight compatant brutes but these 4 gets killed easily but Griffin is a Spartan 2 and he got captured
@@EmperorDxD Griffin was a Spartan 4, though still a bad ass. Book Canon Chief could whoop just about anyone in the universe. The guy can flip a Scorpion tank, if they stuck to book canon his punch force alone could kill almost anything.
Weapon AI: By the looks of him he was some sort of leader. They called him Tremonius.
Chief: Not anymore.

343 might have made one of the best iterations of the Chief yet. Still doesn’t talk much like in the original 3 games, but when he does, it’s so profound
He actually talks more way more because Bungie goal was to make chief a stand in for the player similar to how doom and qauke was.
@@EmperorDxD oh yeah he talks more in this game than in Bungie’s games for sure but I mean tbh it’s just so great when he does talk cause Steve Downes is so iconic 😂 and you’re definitely right about Bungie’s vision for him just being a husk.

One of the most badass ass roast I heard from this game was if you defeat the Spartan killers really fast the weapon will say “you call that a spartan killer? You made that look easy.” To which chief responds “IT WAS.” Dudes a savage

I did my first run on infinite on legendary when the game dropped, found the tank rifle and eliminated them in mere seconds, if it wasn’t for your comment I’m now reading, I would’ve thought that was just normal dialogue and not an “Easter egg” one

These are not just one liners, these are roasts...legendary roasts. Except for the moment with Pilot, it's a touching moments between the two :D

That one talk he has with Espanza, where he says "it's what makes us human" - so awesome to see Chief has really processed the struggle he went through with cortana and figuring out which one of them was human and which was the machine, and then the later talk with Lasky in H4 where he says "she said that to me once, about being a machine". Shows immense character development and subsequent humanisation of chief's character through the series
it’s so great to hear a character like master chief say such a motivational line like that, i can’t think of any other character i’d like to hear that from more than him

"I will *not* fail you." I got chills from just seeing that, imagine being the one he looked in the eyes and said that to.
That's why Echo's PTSD was slowly but surely being dissolved away. Chief as humanity beacon of hope is real, and having a guy like THAT pour his soul into having your back would give anyone an everlasting confidence boost.

How can Master Chief be so inspirational and badass with such limited dialogue? He barely talks, but most of what he says has some serious weight to it.
Quality over quantity.
Thats basic supply and demand. The less of anything there is, the more valuable it becomes.
The scene with the pilot breaking down absolutely made me tear up. I know what it’s like to be in his position because I’ve felt worthless and I have been scared so badly that I feel like running away from home. Then you see Master Chief pep talk not just to him but to all of us about what it truly means to be human. Who we really are is how we respond to making mistakes. That shows great character growth on Chief’s part and it can help us better people. This is the Halo we all grew up to love and the writers did a great job reconciling us with the old Master Chief. This scene alone made it abundantly clear that HALO IS BACK!
The way his head whips towards the pilot when he says “I will not fail you” is awesome too. I feel it shows just how determined he is to not let anyone down again
That whole scene when the pilot broke down I literally cried with him then chief came and pep talked us, its been a rough year so i laughed when both the pilot and I cheered up. Thats the Chief I remembered.
Alot good scenes got me good, the Cortana flashbacks and the ending. I love this game

Yeah man this game is damn good. There are issues with multi-player but the campaign slaps

I get Chief's dramatic jumps are cool but it frustrates me to no end that the supplies go flying out of the Pelican every time. Like you're on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere, conserve your crap!

Master Chief is definitely one of the most legendary and insprational game characters of the FPS genre.
Many years of Halo has really built into this spartan's character development.

I like to think good one liners are the peak of Spartan development and conditioning.
If you beat the brutes Tovarus and Hyperius quickly:

If you beat them after a lengthy fight:
Cortana: "That wasn't so easy, was it? What if Escharum sends more after us?"

When that cutscene was going down, I thought for sure that Chief was gonna mention Sam, but understood why he didn't. Then of course later on in the game it shows up and it was a gut punch

Also that one where the pilot asks chief why do you always keep fighting or something like that, and chief says "Its all i know". Not particularly cool or badass but really hits me hard how he was engineered and basically programmed for one purpose only and is even aware of it himself. Its like he has no choice, he simply does what he was taught to do so well. In a way really tragic. No personal life, no identity or expression or opinion of his own (outside of what is mission relevant ofc). He almost isnt a human with a personality and individuality (aside from the badassery and dry humor), but an embodiment of the desire for survival and the ideals of an entire species. Everything good humanity represents, they crammed into this superspecimen.
Yeah I thought that was the best line too, there was so much sadness in it. Chief only knows war. He was taken from his family and trained for war from a young child. It also made me relate it to my own life, and think about how all I knew was how to be a window cleaner for 15 years, until this year my shoulder and arm finally gave out, and I no longer could do the job. I lost all I knew. I wondered if there will ever be a time when Chief can no longer be a badass war hero, and what will he do then.
If there was at least one thing done well for infinite’s story, it was chief’s characterization.
It’s honestly my favorite iteration of him, from the look down to the characterization. So awesome to see him fully realized as a person while still keeping him short with his words and badass as hell
Chief and Esparza having a heart-to-heart is hands down one of the best moments in the game.
I've always preferred Game Chief's dialogue over Book Chief's. Less chatty, more closed off, while still displaying characteristics of a man who's very mission-oriented with subtle hints of compassion towards those close to him, like Cortana used to be.

Man i just discover this game a few days ago and im already liking it! The graphics are the best they did well creating this game
My personal favorite iteration of Chief. Design and all! I have so many issues with Infinite, but when I play it I almost always have a blast. I just hope this game has a future.
I’m not gonna lie. I’ve spent almost 20 years playing halo. And throughout my entire life my mind always goes back to chief whenever it gets tough, that line he says “sir…finishing this fight” is the attitude I face every single adversity with. And the last few years have been tougher than ever. The weight seemed to just get heavier and heavier, but after playing infinite. And hearing chief say that making mistakes is what makes us human, it made me breath a sigh of relief I didn’t know I needed. His strength flows through me when I think of him, and now coming back to hear that line again makes me feel like it’s all gonna end up okay. And for anyone out there who feels the same as I do, keep fighting noble actual, reinforcements are on route

I think infinite’s master chief is the absolute best iteration of all. He’s my favorite by far, and I don’t think 343 gets the praise they deserve for his writing.
