Great work and a great story !!! My dad owned 2 Piper Colts ... eventually we made 1 from the 2. Same as a Tripacer but Front seat only. My brother and I both learned to fly and became A&P mechanics because of those aircraft. 36 gallons of fuel and a 720lb useful load. For the money if you want to enjoy flying and have an aircraft that is easy to fly and work on... the Piper Tripacer or Colt are 2 to look at for ownership. Always keep it hangered and it will be ready to fly when you are
A friend of mine bought a used Tri-pacer in 1972 for $3000. Another friend bought his Tri-pacer in 1983 for $6000. Both birds in flying condition. I can't imagine what a nice one would cost today! (2021)
Well done Also 70 young. My Dad worked at Piper. He loved all things Piper. Had a bunch of all models over many years. The cowel emblem is different than i remember & the 151 ? Care to give a guick history lesson ? Many Thanks for the show.
I’m curious, I’m new to the world of aviation. I’ve found a Piper pa-20 in similar condition. Can I do the fabric myself or do I need to be a A&P? And what all am I aloud to do and can’t do? I can’t wait to get in the sky.
Beautiful restoration. . Great Love Story❤
Great video, thank you for sharing. I just soloed at 48 years of age in my Tri-pacer, it’s been a great plane!

My father bought his first airplane, a Tri-Pacer, when I was a kid. I grew up flying in that plane, and it's really where I learned to fly.
Been there. Than jumped in a 170 darn near wreaked. To be young again !
Greetings from the UK , well done sir 👍

You can re-cover yourself.
The original Colt had 108 hp and no flaps. Was use mostly for instruction back in the day,
The PA-22 is an under appreciated airplane, better useful load and faster than the 172. Be that as it may, my personal favorate is the PA-12.
