As someone who is introverted and as a former addict who medicated his complex PTSD with heavy drugs for years, I think that what he's going through is self-destructive behavior as a response to all the trauma he experienced. He obviously asked for help many times, but actually accepting it is a whole different matter because withdrawals are horrific (at least they were with heroin, but taking that much of xanax, codeine and who knows what else is no joke either). They can mess you up more than the drug use itself, which is one of the reasons why getting clean is difficult. Like a true Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde situation. I was misdiagnosed at one point with borderline personality disorder because of how angry and fucked up I used to be. I could see a lot of my behaviors being reflected in him (or vice versa). When you have PTSD and are around people who don't have it, you really have to go out of your way to present yourself as socially adequate, and this feels very scripted. One way to deal with that is to be an absolute menace, and this is how you can find out who's really fuckin with you and who ain't. I don't know if he can fully rehabilitate while being a part of the industry. Maybe that's one of the reasons why he dislikes it so much. At any rate, I hope that bro gets better.

The problem with young artists is that they more than likely come from a not so great background, which is equipped with inevitable trauma. Their lives are flipped upside down literally over night. They have too much money and no idea how to manage it.
