Not so fun fact - Rogue's voice actor lost her 17 year old niece to cancer not long before recording for the show. She said on twitter that she channeled a lot of that grief into her acting.

@@TheRibottoStudios I think that in part many actors find acting as a way to vent emotionally, like what happened to Daniel Radcliffe in the scene where Sirius Black is killed, the actor really screamed because hours before he had been told that his grandmother had died, even The director had to stop the scream because according to his statements it broke his heart
I really can relate to Lenore Zann here because I know how it feels to lose a family member. I lost my father back in 2006 to whom I was extremely close with and I still cry over his loss to this day. I really did love him and I still do. He was truly my best friend.
Remember Kurt is a devoted Catholic he always the team designated comforter..
Thee fact Rogue is his sister also helps, obviously he's gonna be especially compassionate with her.

Kurt really stole the show this episode for me with two of his quotes: "his sins had made him into a hero." and "she did not cause Gambit or Magneto to be killed, she helped them live." I always loved how comforting and exuberant Kurt always was in the original show.
Rogue stole the show. But he was filling in for Mystique's job who should have been there for Rogue

@@tyesmith7201 In Xmen 92 the prequel show to this, Rogue is in her early twenties and Kurt was 25. So I think he would be closer to 30 now and she would be mid twenties after time passed
Kurt being a realistic mutant supporting Rogue in a difficult moment. It only makes us more aware of how beautiful it is, which shows how important it is.
He is her only kin left with Mystique still missing. It kind of resemble how their mother adopted her but Kurt was gentle and honest gesture made her realize she has a family who is always there for her. If he joined the team to help their sorrows especially his sister, it would be great

Kurt is one of the best characters in modern comics. It's no wonder his death tore the team to shreds and his resurrection helped bring them back together.

Kurt is the very best. Whoever is writing his dialogue needs a raise. Every line is poetic, deep, Chestertonian in its paradoxes.

Jean, Beast, Wolverine, Morph & Cyclops's body language was like: Don't worry Rogue, you have other people who love you just as much as Gambit did, we'll get through this as team like we always do.

I meant unconditionally too, his love for her generally speaking was on a higher level from the rest of the team. He wanted her to be happy more than he wanted to hook up with her.

That scene with kurt ,ahd rogue was so touching from the flood of emotions shown as she welled up with tears to her bawling in kurts arms to the rest of the Xmen showing up to support her she was really going through it ,but it goes to show that the xmen are a family.
I think what makes the X-Men's family dynamic more heartwarming is that they live in a world where the people hates their species.

I prayed for scenes like this of Rogue and Kurt calling each other brother/sister. This was so beautiful.
If Lenore Zahn doesn't receive an Outstanding Voiceover performance Emmy nomination for this, a table is gonna get flipped.
And the grief was genuine. She used the memory of losing her niece to cancer for this scene.
I don't envy who has to pick performance nominations because Matthew Waterson has been killing it as Magneto too.
Ah man. That shot of the X-Men with her. I'm a middle aged man and it got me. I outgrew all superhero stuff. My younger self would never believe it. X-Men is different though. They're a family and when done right (they usually aren't), something about it sticks.
It shows that X-Men are more than a faction for heroic mutants, they're a family.

And Kurt being there for her grief is similar to how Mystique found and adopted her.
1:13 This kind of animation and crying is very rare and uncommon in western animations, im glad they made this it really shows a person with deep grief and sadness.

This show of family and solidarity makes Rogue's rather cold turn against them all the more sad.
What matters is that Rogue is family, and that's what's important.

She truly love Gambit, even after dumping him for Magneto, and until Gambit died she FINALLY realized her mistake. This truly feels like a Mexican soap opera, and what an irony this scene shows people celebrating Dia de los Muertos.

This scene hit home when I remembered that Kurt is Mystique's son and Rogue is Mystique's adopted daughter.
What sad about this Gambit died not knowing that Rouge wanted to be with him. Thinking that Rouge wanted to be with Erik instead of him. Rouge must of felt guilty of not telling Gambit that she loved him and wanted to be with him instead.

In the comics Kurt was the class clown, the joker. He was the comedic relief. I love this character but to see him being the voice of reason just makes him perfect.
I did not like that the comic rarely use their sibling connection in the story
(especially when he sacrificed himself to save her. While she did mourned his passing, she saw him as a friend not her brother and it didn't impact her as much)
@@blackraven3436 Well it makes sense. They were not raised as siblings. When Rogue dies in Xmen the End, he doesn't acknowledge it much either.
In many ways, Kurt found a way to balance being the usual jokester and a man who has a very spiritual side to him. He is that good of a man.

This is why nightcrawler has always been one of my favorite characters in the X-Men stories. That's why I was so bummed when they killed him off in the comics. He is so likable that even wolverine whom is known to be a hardass has the upmost respect for nightcrawler.
We may not choose our family...but we can choose what kind of family to be.

I feel bad for rouge, so, Will Gambit Come Back To Life By Cable’s Time Travel or being revived by Apocalypse as the Horseman Of Death?
Speaking with Screen Rant, Castorena confirmed that Gambit and Magneto were officially dead and that the animated revival would not be undoing their sacrifices in Episode 5. The director also shared that the creative team considered killing off other mutants before settling on the two fan-favorite characters. "The decision was never finite, like, 'We're doing this, we're killing so and so and that's it.' This might scare fans, but it changed a bit, it bounced around on who it would be because for sake of story, for sake of pushing character arcs and tying everything in, based on where story trajectory was going, [it] was based on what character it was going to be, he explained. "But ultimately, obviously, we landed on Gambit and, Magneto. We know someone, a.k.a. Rogue, who is, especially in our show, who was very much intertwined with both."
Castorena explained that fans will need to tune in for the rest of the season to see how the titular team deals with Magneto and Gambit's deaths, hinting that Rogue especially will have a hard time accepting that the two mutants closest to her are gone. "I implore audiences to ponder and be curious about what that would do to someone of Roque's caliber and potentially, I would say focus less on what we have lost and I would focus on more who or what lies ahead, if that makes sense for you," he teased.
He continued, "But ultimately, at the end of the day, Gambit and Magneto are dead and we'll have to watch the series unfold to further understand what those consequences are going to be for not just for our team but for potentially for the rest of the world."
Magneto is alive, so that probably means Gambit will probably come back as the horseman as death probably by Mr. Sinister
