@@mladenbubanja584 I am so sorry to hear about what you have been going through! I so wish that I could tell you what to buy to cure your bacterial infection, but one - medication is outside of my scope of practice and two - I can't give personalized medical advice :( That being said, have you followed up with your local physician about the antibiotics you've taken? Hopefully he or she knows of other options for you!
Hmm! Mycoplasma are associated with Gulf War and also Korean war soldiers. Hx has noted that Mycoplasma was used as a bioterrorism weapon in the Korean war and my uncle came home with a disease that was called Multiple Sclerosis yet looks exactly like CFS/ME Central Nervous System Deregulation Syndrome caused by Black Mold. That the family members were at risk of infection. Sure enough my dad his brother was very sick, me since 12 interstitial cystitis and now full blown what my father and uncle had. Now I can see it in my adult children. With a suppressed immune system I was made to live in a tested Black mold apartment for a year my dog died from this, I've had constant flares of IC and Candidiasis as well, hospital for COPD also related to the inept none help from my doctor my apartment manager the tenants council and lastly city code officer. Apparently I was ignored and am now extremely sick again. I'm out of that sick building yet now I have residual health problems. I can't sue because the American Medical Association does not agree that Mycoplasma is Real yet. And now this information makes soo much sense!!!!!!
I finally just got this test done and finally have answers! Years iv had extreme pain and have been told its nothing ... drink more water, referred to a mental health doctor and was incorrectly diagnosed... have been dealing with this for 8 painful years!! I am so sorry you’ve been navigating this for 8 years and that you’ve been invalidated in the medical system - but I am SO glad you didn’t give up on yourself! @@setme4ree you can just ask for it, the method is important. You can ask for a pcr or if you can pay it do a Microgen Dx Test. Ask for mycoplasma hominis, mycoplasma genitalium, ureaplasma urealyticum, ureaplasma parvum.
I have had all these symptoms for 2 years and had so many tests. Nothing came up. I was so desperate that I didn't know what's happening to me. Went to about 5 different doctors and non of them even though of testing me for ureaplasma in particular. It is pretty spectacular how much humans with pelvic dysfunction can suffer before a solution is proposed -- I see it all of the time in my profession. Y’all 7-14 days of moxifloxacin has the highest chance of curing mycoplasma and Ureaplasma....as far as studies show....at least that’s what worked for me , Azithromycin was resistant ....docy also didn’t work ... UPDATE 2 step process , docy then 7 day moxi
Ace Pirate hi, I think I had this infection for about 3 months. I was prescribed doxycycline hyclate for 7 days...but I am not sure if it completely eradicated the infection because I still have slight odor/discharge. I am going to get retested this weekend. Should I ask about moxifloxacin?
Jasmin Acty yes I would if the bacteria is resistant to doxycycline and Azithromycin.......it was resistant to those meds for me as well , moxifloxacin worked for me . Keep me posted ...I don’t think I’m your case it’s completely gone if there is still a odor/symptoms I would guess ....I don’t know if it varies between male and female but in my case all my symptoms left when I went and got retested....the times I still had any symptoms the mycoplasma was still there ....best of wishes tho
Yes! I did it by FASTING as much as you can bare and if you do have to eat avoid eating ALL sugars or carbs for they convert to sugars, fasting would be your first line of defense being as tho this is a bacterial infections you can starve those out of your system, along side fasting was lots of lemon water, chopped garlic and Oil of oregano! Raw vegan diet if you must eat it's tough if you're not used to it but antibiotics were not helping and neither were the doctors I had oregano oil droplets and the capsules Gaia is a wonderful brand for those, it is highly antimicrobial antibacterial and antiviral it's superb! There are studies on other oils as well but oregano oil I've found to be in the top 3
I've had recurrent BV, and they just found Ureaplasma. The discomfort of this illness is horrid. Burning, stinging, itching, pelvic/abdominal pain, urethritis...seriously so uncomfortable in my body. 😢 they had to swab, which wasn't bad at all. Not sure how long I've had it, but I have hominis, meaning my own body decided to let it to multiply to the point it became an infection. Horrible.
Thank you for making this video! I work in military public health, specifically STI’s/HIV, but this topic always comes up. Apparently it is fairly common in Norway, which is how I discovered it after treating several Marines for urethritis w/ negative chlamydia/gonorrhea tests that had been deployed there. I wish we had more studies on it!
Kay B Yes but it took quite a bit of moxifloxacin to get the job done. The CDC is scheduled to publish an update in March for their treatment guidelines with more information on myco/urea so be on the lookout for that!
I could cry!! It's a long story but I've been trying to treat this over 3 months and have had to grapple with a yeast infection and BV alongside it all because of a man I let go down on me who had a very dirty mouth! (I know it was him because it turned out he was cheating on a woman who had it. And I say dirty because I also had HORRIBLE breath after kissing him.) This has been a very emotional process for me, and when the 1g azithromycin I took didn't work, I cried. A little while after taking it, I started having weird pelvic pains. I thought the antibiotics messed up my gut forever. I kept trying and trying to nurse my gut back to health before taking another round. But you're telling me this whole time, those gut/pelvic area pains might be from the ureaplasma itself? 🥺 Hallelujah, you're doing God's work here. I can go a little more confidently into treatment knowing it's the infection and not the antibiotics that's probably hurting me. I'm gonna be so so careful about who I have sexual activity with in the future! I wished I had a dental dam in the moment.
I will never have sex ever again after getting this demon from one sexual partner in years. I swear it has put me off sex for life. I can't stand the burning urethra, going for a wee constantly and bladder pains. God willing this is gone sooner rather than later. I will never engage in anything that can give me this much torment.
How long does it normally take for ureaplasma urelyticum to demonstrate symptoms? Also, what might cause it to have an overgrowth if you’ve had it previously to that overgrowth? Meaning what is the most likely scenario?
So if the Antibiotic doues'nt work .... so how i can heal my budy ?! This is a trap!!!!! Crazy! What i can do?! Im bleeding all so from my womb ! Might be from that micoplazma! For over 3 month! The doc' say its Andomatritisis! And i have a yeast that coming out from my vegaina in the days im not bleeding ! My budy went fucked up just from that crazy micop' !!! Its not fair! I want my holy budy back!!!! What can i do if the anti' not working?! How i can get healt ?! This is not the life i wanted!!!

I have been fighting with PID on and off for years. I have been tested for almost everything and like you recognized all tests for me, in fact, have been negative. It has been so annoying. Today my doctor told me about Mycoplasma and sent a cervical swab over to a lab to have the PAC test done. My doctor did a PAP and she noted cervical discharge and also noted I had a lot of white blood cells on my smear. I am hoping it comes back with answers because I feel helpless. I have been on so many antibiotics it's unreal. They work for a week or two then I'm back to square one. I even now feel like I'm on the edge of another PID episode where I end up in the hospital again without answers. It's annoying because when I am hospitalized the doctors always try to claim its from a possible STD but then they get the test results back its negative like I knew it would be. Thanks for your insight, I found this video very insightful.
Wow. Anna I am so, so sorry to hear all you've been through. I hate that you've been through the wringer, and I, too, would feel annoyed/frustrated. I am hopeful that this PAP comes back with answers for you, too. I wish I could be more helpful. What I can offer, if you're experiencing pelvic pain/painful intercourse/bladder or bowel dysfunction, is that it might be helpful to see a pelvic physical therapist. A pelvic PT would not be able to cure the underlying issue, but might be able to bring you some relief with manual therapy and behavioral techniques to help with pain management/symptom regulation. If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com I wish you absolutely nothing but the best 💕
Anna! I wanted to share with you. I was just chatting with someone who has been battling a mycoplasma infection for a very long time, and they HIGHLY recommend this supplement -- it's called interphase plus, and is a biofilm destroyer. They swear that it is this supplement that really changed the game during their healing process. I cannot give individualized medical advice, but I wanted to pass this information along to you incase it is helpful. 💕
Yes male here, what I've found to be helpful is FASTING, most bacterial infections can be cured fasting and if you do have to eat stay away from ALL sugars and carbs! Anything that will feed the bacteria I drank lott's of lemon water and took sum oil of oregano as well as chopped garlic this is a very frustrating condition to deal with because doctors in the clinics still aren't fully educated on it yet and sum out right refuse to treat you they tell you to go to a specialist I noticed that when I break my fast is when I start feeling the irritation fasting kills bacterial infections you gotta starve it out if your antibiotics aren't working like for me they weren't!! however viral infections you have to eat certain things to combat it.
hello, I was recently diagnosed with ureaplasma urealyticum and gardnerella vaginalis, I am very worried, three months ago my girlfriend gave me oral sex without protection. We have not had vaginal or anal sex since I met her. How could I get gardnerella for oral sex?
Gardnerella vaginalis is more commonly known as bacterial vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis is the overgrowth of a bacteria that is always present in the vagina, kind of like a yeast infection is the overgrowth of a bacteria that is always present in the vagina! As far as a man contracting gardnerella vaginalis, according to this 2015 study that looked at 165 men: mbio.asm.org/content/6/3/e00589-15.full It looks like a man is able to carry the bacteria on his penis, but can't actually contract bacterial vaginosis! You can read more about it here: www.thesticlinic.com/bacterial-vaginosis.aspx Wishing you only the best ❤
Thank you! Have all the symptoms you mentioned. My urologist ordered culture which tested positive for Mycoplasma G.and Ureaplasma. I was given 5 days of Azyrthromycin. Some temporary relief but symptoms returned. Another culture is being done as we speak. I’m using Uribel to help relieve symptoms of urethritis, dysuria and pelvic discomfort. Urologist not sure how to treat this. I’m very frustrated. I’ve been sexually inactive for 3 years and UTI symptoms started when I discontinued birth control pills. I’m postmenopausal and dealing with estrogen deficiency and genitourinary symptoms of menopause. Atrophy has thinned genital/urinary tissues and have probably made me more susceptible to this kind of bacterial infection. Just started local and systemic HRT to replace Estrogen. I hope this helps restore my genitourinary health.
Aww man, I'm so sorry to learn about your genitourinary health struggles secondary to menopause. Your frustration is so valid; however, I am SO impressed with how much ownership you've taken over your own healing! I know it's not the same thing, but having struggled with and healed from three other "chronic" health issues in my past (and currently healing a fourth), I firmly believe that intuition and embracing trial and error need to be championed much more than they are in Western medicine. I hope that you can continue to lean into your relationship with your body and restore your genitourinary health, and I'm really glad that some of my content is helping you find that healing 🧡 Wishing you the best!
There are a few options for medication. I used azithromycin and it didn’t work. I am now on doxycycline for 7 days. If I don’t feel it working I will post pone it for 2 more weeks. 21 days in total. If that doesn’t seem to work then there is another medication called fluoroquinolones. It could be stubborn depending on how long you have had yours. I’ve had mine for 2years. Look into this and don’t stop treatment as it can make your body resistant to medication. Be consistent with taking it and making sure you have the right length of time to take it.
Yes it did work. The doxycycline. I rested after and it was negative. However it is 4 years later and I am having similar symptoms. I just tested for mycoplasma but it was negative. I would like to test for ureaplasma but I can’t find a test for that.
Hi, The video is simply amazingly made. I read that ureaplasma and mycoplasma hominis can be sort of naturally present in people’s systems. And that they can proliferate on their own in someone’s system without being transmitted from a partner to another. I read that for ureaplasma the prolifération can come from hormonal changes and the taking of antibiotics, did you read this yourself? Is so what do you think of that? Thank you :)
My toddler tested positive for mycoplasma pneumoniae, and it presented normally in the lungs. I also got infected, but it spread and only presented in my urinary tract/bladder. It’s extremely difficult to find any research on this- but I would argue they are related. I became extremely sick and needed weeks of antibiotics.
I had a ureaplasma infection for 4 years. It's damaged a lot of my nerve endings and I have to take chronic pain medication. Before they found the infection I was absolutely convinced I had interstitial cystitis ic. When looking into my bladder twice in the four years, all they found was inflammation. When they tested my urine regularly it came up that there was a high White blood cell count, but they never really knew why. The pain when I go to the bathroom is excruciating even with treatment and the pain meds. I can't eat high citric foods without having a flare up. To help calm down the flare ups I use pyridium meds and now CBD oils... I have taken pelvic pain therapy last year as well. When they test me now I still come up positive for ureaplasma parvum... Which most doctors say everyone has and not to worry about. But I have found one in my area that says it's not normal ... I just want to thank you for making this video! There is little to no information about what happened to me and what is happening too so many others. Sometimes I feel like I should talk in sex ed school education class lol. I was 19 when I got the infection. When choosing to have sex I made my partners get tested or wear a condom. I have only slept with a handful of guys. I do not sleep around. I'm 25 now and it's been a huge journey. Without proper love and support I don't know where I would be today. If there are any women who have a similar story please send me a message I would love to hear it from you. God bless !
First of all, I am so, so sorry to hear that you've been through so much for so long with this ureaplasma infection. I am so glad you found the root cause of your symptoms, but I hate hearing that you are still experiencing painful urination. I am glad you've taken the time to learn about your body's reaction to different foods, and while a pelvic PT can't cure the infection, I hope you've learned tools to help manage and decrease your pain. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story here, as I am confident that someone will read this comment and feel both validated and not alone in his/her experience. And thank you so, so much for offering to talk with other women who are having this experience. I have spoken with men who are also working through this experience, too! Secondly, I fully support you speaking at schools. I think that's a wonderful idea, and if you are in a place where you can share your story/experience and want to, I think you should in whatever capacity feels right and good to you. Love and support are so important. We are tribe animals at our cores, and community makes such a difference in both happiness and hardship. I am so happy to hear you have a strong support system. Thank you again for commenting and sharing. I wish you nothing but the best 💕
There is a whole load of people being diagnosed with stupid labels like this. I'm suffering too and Drs have no clue how to get rid of it. If 70% of the sexually active population have this, it's a frickin epidemic!!! In pain daily and Drs can't do a thing, this woman's information is so incorrect it makes me mad!! I've tried Azithromycin (10 days) and Moxifloxicin (7 days), but the discomfort is persisting. I'm hopeful that doxycycline might work, but I imagine the clinic would only want to prescribe a 7-day script for me. Is 14 days necessary? 21? Two antibiotics at once? I just want this to be over... any advice is so appreciated
I'm so sorry that the discomfort is persisting, and I hear you when you say that you just want this to be over. Unfortunately, I cannot offer individualized medical advice and antibiotic prescription/treating Mgen/ureaplasma is outside of my scope of practice as a pelvic physical therapist - it is a diagnosis I need to be educated about so that I can catch it in my patients if someone else misses it - but I do not have clinical experience to draw from either, so I'm not really sure what the best dosage is/how long is most effective or appropriate/if two is safe or better/etc. I'm so sorry that I can't be more helpful, but I really do encourage you to do your research and seek out others' experiences/successes! Wishing you all of the best and I hope you get to feeling better soon 🧡

Hello Tori! Thank you for your video and information.im someone against antibiotics, please advise if Ureaplasma can bd treated otherwise? My GY is insisting that it causes miscarriages..thanks
Hi Yulia! You're so welcome, I hope it was helpful to you. Unfortunately, I do not treat ureaplasma in the clinic. Medication is outside of my scope of practice -- I became aware of these bacteria due to patients of mine that weren't getting better with my usual treatment interventions. That being said, I do not know if ureaplasma causes miscarriage. I did a quick google search, and I think it would depend on the strain of ureaplasma -- ureaplasma urealyticum is a different strain than ureaplasma parvum, which seems to be the strain that causes miscarriage. From what I can gather, ureaplasma and mycoplasma can be tricky to treat. There are several antibiotic interventions that sometimes work, and sometimes do not. I am aware of a natural method for treating mycoplasma -- this is usually used when conventional treatments (antibiotics) have failed. But I am not aware of any natural treatments/protocols for treating ureaplasma. I wish I could be more helpful! I do wish you only the best 💕
Ok. I have almost all of these symptoms. I got tested and they found ureaplasma spp. I'm a woman. But not sure if that number is actually that pathogenic or I have some other, more serious problem😒 anyway, what is the number when we need to know it is too much?
Can I email you? I’m in the military and I feel the doctors haven’t done a good job of explaining this to me and given me the right medications. I just want some better answers on situation I’m so afraid I won’t be able to have children.
I am so sorry to hear that you feel your doctors haven't done a good job explaining your situation to you. As far as not being able to have children, that is such a valid fear. While this isn't my area of expertise, I will share this with you: According to this 2016 study * www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28078900 >> when comparing 111 women with fertility issues to 23 women without fertility issue, ureaplasma urealitycum was found in about the same % of each group (~40% of the women with fertility issues, and 35% of the women without fertility issues). The results of this study say, "The potential negative effect of these species on the reproduction ability of women was not observed." That doesn't mean there isn't one, but there is some evidence to suggest that infertility and ureaplasma urealitycum aren't related! Know that this bacteria and its relationship to pelvic health is still very new -- we are still learning! You're welcome to email me, but do remember that I antibiotics/prescription medication are outside of my scope of practice, and that I cannot give personalized medical advice. Wishing you only the best ❤
Thank you for this informative video. I was diagnosed with ureaplasma and mycoplasma. I insisted on the doctor testing my urine culture for both because I was having UTI symptoms and did tons of research on my own. She prescribed Doxycycline 100 mg for 14 days. Do you know of any success stories with this medication. I'm so scared!
I am so glad this video was helpful for you, and I am so happy you were able to advocate for yourself and find the right diagnosis. Your fear is so understandable, as these bacteria can be tricky and resistant to antibiotics, but know that this isn't always the case 💛 I have heard of doxycycline successfully treating them, and I hope that is true in your case! Wishing you nothing but the best 🤗
@@PelvicEmpowerment I'm scheduled to have a transvaginal ultrasound next Monday. I am still having pelvic pain despite beginning the Doxy and also receiving an injection in my bottom to get rid of the E-coli and pelvic pain this past Mon. I asked the nurse if the pain was from the bacteria because according to both, it should've been gone. She agreed to put in the referral for the exam. I'm nervous! @@PelvicEmpowerment Hi thank you for following up with your questions. My symptoms started in Feb. after intercourse. I always experience a UTI after intimacy. I was first diagnosed with BV and treated with an antibiotic, which caused a YI, and a few weeks later I was diagnosed with Strep C. I'm a teacher. The Dr. in urgent care prescribed another antibiotic, which caused me to flare again, and I was prescribed Diflucan. I continued to have the UTI symptoms and that's when I started researching within the FB Support group I'm a member of and one of the members suggested that I research an embedded infection, and I was lucky enough that the OBGYN agreed over tele-medicine to request for a culture for ureaplasma and mycoplasma; although initially she insisted that Macrobid would do the trick because E-coli was in my urine. Currently I'm on the 14-day course of Doxy and I'm having a little burning with urination still, but it's not as severe as before. The pelvic pain comes and goes. I'm still urinating frequently. Sometimes when I relieve myself I have lower abdominal pain after, which I read Doxy sometimes causes. The first dose that I take in the morning with a light breakfast leaves me severely nauseous. I was told last yr that I had urine retention and that my bladder wasn't releasing fully. Could it be a bladder spasm? I haven't seen a urologist in months because it's easier for me to book an appt with an OBGYN. Currently I'm taking D-Mannose (Harmony brand), vitamin C, and RePhresh. I ordered Candida Complex (but haven't received it yet). Is it safe to take 2 diff. brands of probiotics? I just hope the medicine works. I'm 37 and I want to be a Mom one day. I don't want this to turn into PID. The Dr. the other day said that internally during my vaginal exam that everything appeared normal and that she didn't feel any abnormalities, but because of the pelvic pain I asked for the ultrasound. I apologize for the long reply, and thank you for your time.
i have high levels of mycoplasma species (but i don't have genitalium as I've had PCR's and it said negative so im guessing its hominis) and also atopobium vaginae... I've had "bv" twice - treated using metronidazole which helped the really bad vaginal pain and smell but it came back straight away so i KNEW whatever bacteria i had wasn't treated properly. i really hope i can get treated asap and my doctor gives me what i need :(
Hi Tori, I have or had ureaplasma parvum, was treated with doxyferm for nine days (double dose first day). I still have all the symptoms. Acute need to urinate constantly, tendon pull and spasm in the area, brown discharge 15 days in a row break for 2 weeks and then come back. Pressure left the bladder and confirmed urethral urethritis. Does the same apply to U.pavrum?
@@annaabrahamsson3726 on Doxycycline again. 2nd round of it this time. Treated in October and it’s back. Spotting ( I think it looks like rust) for weeks at a time, burning and urgency. Was treated for BV in November right after the 1st round of Doxycycline. I think it all came back.
Thank you so much for making this kind of videos! Unfortunately, because treating these bacteria is outside of my scope of practice (I need to be aware of them so that I can catch a potential infection if another provider missed the signs, but I cannot treat the infections!), I'm unsure about any effects they can have in pregnancy. That said, I'm happy to write these questions on my requests list and make a potential video dedicated to the topic in the future! I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful, and I do wish you and baby the best 🧡
How can I get tested for both of these if all the doctors I've seen DON'T test for it?! Is there a reputable clinic or lab online where I can self-test and receive my results? Like mailing the samples and then get my results? PLEASE HELP!!! I've been suffering for 2 years! I live in Puerto Rico!
I am so, so sorry to hear that you’ve been suffering for so long and that you don’t have access to a doctor who will test you. I’ve heard really good things about MicroGen diagnostics - they are online, and I’m not sure if you need a physician or not to get tested. But even if you did, perhaps you could direct your physician to send in a sample? Here is the website: microgendx.com I wish I could be more helpful! Wishing you only the best ❤️
Thanks you for this video, i'm from asia, positive with MG, my penis was leaking pus, so i hospitalized for treatment, too late, 2 months after superinfection, my doctor prescriptions for me AVELOX 250ml 400mg( Moxifloxacin) and INVANTZ 1g(Ertapenem), so all are injected,After 10 days, all my symptoms improved significantly, for now,My penis still hasn't fully recovered, I think I was hospitalized too late, but at least there are no more symptoms. You can refer to my prescription, my case was hospitalized in quite serious condition!
Hello! thank you for the video. I have a question- if I tested positive for ureaplasma in urethra via pcr testing (you said this bacteria is present in healthy urinal tract) shoul I treat it? my urologist told me to - but as I took antibiotics my symptoms got so, so worse- which makes me think they are not treating the cause. the question is- if you experience pain during urination- and go for antibiotics against ureaplasma- and it doesn't help for 7 days, and the symptoms only get worse- is it possible to have another infection? thank you.. so sick of being sick and incompetent doctors..
Thanks a lot. I need a new doc but no insurance. My vagina aches & my stomach & butt hole. It feels like a bad UTI. Do you know of any over the counter or natural cures for those that antibiotics dont work for ?this is stressful. I was given azithromycin 2 pills for one day. My symptom's seem worse pain in my vagina & shoots through my lower stomach. I have went 7 years again without any sex and had a hysterectomy's in Nov which changed my ph levels & gave me BV DOC keeps giving me flagyl antibiotics months later still I've had it & now they tell me a new bacteria in addition ureaplasma. They said its an overgrowth of normal bacteria. So it has symptom's like a UTI. I haven't had sex most of my adult life & this is 1 of the reasons why, I'm too grown to lie about it. My research shows even many docs dont know much about this. Its a lot of guessing going on but a doc said it cant be called an std cuz people got it that never had
I'm so sorry to learn that you're navigating pain in your stomach, vagina, and anus, and that your relationship with sex has been colored with painful experiences. Yes, the research into mycoplasma and ureaplasma is still in its infancy, unfortunately. Some are calling the infections STIs, others claim they can't be for the exact reason you've proposed. I'm hopeful we'll learn more and more now that these bacteria are finally starting to get the attention they deserve in healthcare/the scientific world. As for natural remedies, know that I cannot give individualized medical advice, I can only share general information and resources. With that being said, I will share that I spoke with someone who was also struggling with chronic Mgen/ureaplasma infections and had a lot of success with a supplement that claimed to be a "biofilm" destroyer (biofilms are the names of colonies of bacteria). The supplement they used was called Interphase Plus, but please talk to your doctor before using it. I have not used it personally and cannot speak to its risks/benefits, and all supplements have inherent risks. With BV and vaginal pH regulation, I've had some women have success with boric acid suppositories. I have a different video up that speaks more about boric acid and vaginal pH that might be helpful for you. It's here, if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/uzfAgvGY7Z0/видео.html Finally, once the ureaplasma/BV subsides, given your history of pelvic pain and recent hysterectomy, you might benefit from pelvic physical therapy! You deserve to feel peace in your body and mind, and you also deserve to have pain-free, pleasurable sex if you want it. A good pelvic PT would be able to assess your history/body/pelvis/lifestyle etc. and put together a tailored plan of care to help you achieve your goals! If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com/ As an aside, self-scar massage can also be helpful when healing from surgeries. Sometimes hysterectomies are performed vaginally, other times they are performed abdominally. If you have an abdominal incision, self-scar massage might be beneficial for you! You can learn more here: ruclips.net/video/yiONJEpfrn0/видео.html Don't give up on your body's ability to heal. I wish you the best in your healing 💛
Hey, I'm honored that you're comfortable reaching out to me, thank you. Unfortunately, I cannot give individualized medical advice. If you have some general questions, I can do my best to answer, but I can't advise past what I've shared in this video. Don't give up on your body. It is capable of immense healing.
I did general cervix and vagina swab and it came back negative to bacterias.Should i do specific pcr swab only for ureaplasma/mycoplasma or regular swab would show bacterias? Thank you !

There is little empirical science to support the idea that antibiotics have any anti inflammatory effect, certainly no more than what you would get with ibuprofen.
You're correct! Sometimes people who don't need antibiotics still feel better when taking them, and some propose this is due to the anti-inflammatory effect that they can have, even though it's no more than you'd get with ibuprofen ❤️
Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy! Unfortunately, I do not know very much about ureaplasma parvum and pregnancy. Treating bacterial infections is outside of my scope of practice, so I have no clinical experience in this space other than what I've learned passively in the clinic from my patients -- none of whom were pregnant when managing their infections. I also have no personal experience to share, as I have not experienced ureaplasma or pregnancy personally. I really wish I could be more helpful -- don't give up on your body's ability to heal! Wishing you and your baby the best, and I hope you find your healing soon ❤️
My understanding is that the bacteria live naturally in the urogenital tract (so urinary and reproductive -- in women, the bladder and the vagina) -- and can affect either system when they overgrow.
Hi! I am so honored that you feel comfortable asking me, but unfortunately antibiotics are outside of my scope of practice and I cannot give personal medical advice. I hope that you have a trusted physician or another health care provider that you can talk to, and if you have any general questions don't hesitate to ask ❤
Colonised vagina, move through reproductive tract, like the urethra, cervix and uterus. Anyone being diagnosed with endo, IC or NGU it's important they push hard for PCR testing for all four of the mycos known to affect these areas of the body, mycoplasma genitalium, mycoplasma Hominis, ureaplasma urealyticum and ureaplasma parvum. In men they like the urethra and prostate.
Hi Nicolle! I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling to get tested. I’ve heard really good things about MicroGen diagnostics - they are an online-based company, and I’m not sure if you need a physician’s order or not to get tested. But even if you did, perhaps you could direct your physician to send in a sample? Here is the website: microgendx.com I wish I could be more helpful! Wishing you only the best ❤️
Hiya I just found out that I had this from a PCR test online. No doctors were able to detect what my vaginal symptoms where linked too as everything came back negative 😭 for months!!! I'm currently on antibiotics for BV but my symptoms arent going away. It's already been 3 days!! Do I need to cure the ureaplasma parvum that I've been diagnosed with first? And then the BV treatment? I'm so confused on what I should do and really need help with this. As you said there isn't much research online.
Unfortunately, even sensitive antibiotics may not be a solution. Drinkable form of bentonite clay is a good alternative to cure it as the negative ions in bentonite clay directly targets the positive ions in these bacteria.
I am mycoplasma hominis positive, is there a cure for this? i have been treating with doxicilin for 10 days and didnt help me, now im with moxifloxacin, any advice? thanks
Alexandra, How many pills of Josamycin per day do I have to take to end mycoplasma hominis? Please, I'm desperate. Do you know if Clindamycin is also effective or just Josamycin?
Hi tori, after having symptoms of a uti and about 3 antibiotics later I have been told I have ueraplasma. My symptoms started several weeks after giving birth. My pcp prescribed doxycycline the issue is that I am exclusively breastfeeding. The pharmacist did not recommend taking this antibiotics as it can cause teeth problems to my baby , which I agreed not to take. Have you heard of any successfull stories of breastfeeding mamas getting rid of this yucky and bothersome infection?
I'm so sorry to learn that you're struggling with ureaplasma postpartum. While I haven't heard specifically of breastfeeding mamas getting rid of this infection, I have heard of others! I cannot give individualized medical advice on this platform, but I can share what has worked for other people, and strongly encourage you to ask your providers regarding breastfeeding safety, as that is something I'm not well versed in with these interventions. But I do know that some people have had really good results using oregano oil, and I know others have had good results using supplements that act as "biofilm disrupters," such as Interfase! I'm so sorry that I can't be more helpful, and I do wish you and your baby all of the best. I hope you find your healing soon 🧡
I started getting urethra pain when I got pregnant 2 weeks ago and after testing, they found mycoplasma Genitalium. I have no idea how long I’ve had it, but I just finished a course of azithromycin yesterday and still some mild symptoms. Shouldn’t I be better by now?
That’s a really good question, and it’s hard for me to say. Mgen can be tricky to treat with antibiotics-sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right ones. I can only recommend following up with your prescribing physician. I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope you feel better very soon ❤️
I have tested positive for Ureaplasma parvum. Could this be the source of my Pelvic burning pain, urethral throbbing, and urinary frequency/urgency? Or is it just IC? Thank you!!!
I am a physical therapist, so I do not culture bacteria in my practice, unfortunately. I wish I could share more insights, but I do not know much about the pathologist's side of these bacteria as it's outside of my scope of practice!
I have a question. My baby daddy and I broke up because my doctor said I could of only gotten it trough sexually intercourse. I got uryplasma urealiticum. We didn't use condoms my whole pregnancy and when I was 2-3 months post partum and started getting symtoms from ureaplasma. His test came back negative and mine came back positive. I was convinced he cheated and he's convinced I cheated. How is it that when wasn't with anyone. I was with my mom the whole time post partum and I never left the house. I've been faithful the whole 4 years we've been together. Some researches says is a natural bacteria that woman can have. But let's say if I've had it for a while how did he avoid from contracting it.
Hey, I'm so sorry to learn about the turmoil ureaplasma has caused you in your relationship. I have to say, first of all, that treating these bacteria is outside of my scope of practice, which is to say I have no experience treating them in the clinic. I only know enough to be able to "catch" the infections if other providers have missed them, and point my patient in the right direction. That said, our understanding of both mycoplasma and ureaplasma is in its infancy. I don't know that it's true that the only way you could've contracted this infection is via some recent intercourse, as I have read that it is a natural bacteria in some women's flora as well. The va-ginal biome is complex in the way that it's balanced - it may be true that you had a certain concentration of the ureaplasma in your flora and the hormonal changes that come with pregnancy/delivery either promoted or suppressed the growth of the ureaplasma or other bacteria that naturally keep ureaplasma at bay, resulting in an infection? I am COMPLETELY speculating, I don't know for sure, just drawing parallels with other members of some women's flora (like yeast - some women have candida in their flora, but also have bacteria that naturally keep the candida at bay, then take antibiotics which decreases the "fighter" bacteria and lets candida flourish enough to cause a yeast infection). Everything has a tipping point, where certain concentrations of bacteria are harmless until they reach a certain level. Again, I'm not sure, and I'm so sorry that it's caused so much turmoil. I really hope that you can do more research/find more answers, and that you and your baby are otherwise healthy. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful, and I wish you and baby the best 🧡
@@PelvicEmpowerment thank you for this information. My nurse contracted it and she's been with her husband for years and they never even had the thought that either of them cheated. She even said she could of contacted it before and only showed symtoms years later. I do believe it's a bacteria thats apart of out flora. That said i just wish there was solid evidence and proof that it can only be sexually transmitted because the answer my doctor gave me ruined my daughter and her father's relationship and now I'm a single mom. Thank you again
@@LadyTatix I'm really glad that you were able to chat with your nurse about her experience. I know how frustrating it is not to have solid evidence (having navigated a number of "mysterious" conditions in my lifetime), and I'm also so sorry about your doctor's response. Anecdotes in spaces like these are powerful and important to consider, hopefully you can present your nurse's experience AND the knowledge that you have about the flora (how it's a perfectly reasonable hypothesis that ureaplasma existed in your biome beforehand, and something triggered it's growth to the point of infection, perhaps hormonal changes, maybe medication if you had to take anything during pregnancy, etc.) to your ex should you want to attempt to restore that relationship. It's hard for me to remember, but I think if you skim through the comments section on this video you might find other experiences that mirror your nurse's, people in committed relationships who end up with an infection, to bolster your claim! And providers don't always realize the power their words carry. They sometimes present not-so-solid information in a very convincing manner (sometimes this isn't their fault at all, other times it's due to their ego, it just depends on the provider/situation/etc.), and, while it shouldn't be this way, it's up to the patient to decipher just how solid the information they provided actually is. (A more concrete example - I've been diagnosed with four "chronic, incurable" conditions in my lifetime that I was convincingly told I'd have to manage. I've healed three of them, and am on the tale end of healing my fourth). We do NOT understand ureaplasma well enough to say ANYTHING with unshakable confidence. I'd argue we don't understand (or at least it isn't common knowledge amongst providers) the nuance of individualized va-ginal biomes well enough, either. There is room for a LOT of nuance here. A lot of individualism/different experiences. Anyway, I truly do wish you the best in not only your healing but whatever you choose to do through the lens of your relationship. Keep going 🧡
I am so sorry you're feeling overwhelmed, and I am honored you feel comfortable reaching out to me. Unfortunately, I cannot give individualized medical advice and pharmaceuticals are outside of my scope of practice. Mgen/ureaplasma were never something I treated directly in the clinic, so I have no clinical experience to draw from. I've also not personally had a mycoplasma infection, so I have no personal experience to draw from. I am sorry I cannot be more helpful, and I truly wish you the best. Keep advocating for yourself, and do not give up on your body's ability to heal 💛
I am not sure. That is something you'd have to follow-up with your physician or another trusted healthcare provider on -- I am really sorry I can't be more helpful ❤️
I don't know very much about treating Mycoplasma hominis, I'm so sorry I can't be more helpful. Don't give up on your healing! You deserve to feel peace in your body and your mind 💛
Im getting tingling behind testicles and upper urethra, i started doxycycline and i think it was helping but got esophagitis what alternative are there?
I'm so sorry about the esophagitis! I'm honored that you're comfortable asking me for guidance; however, I cannot give individualized medical advice and I do not treat these diagnoses in the clinic. I can only encourage you to follow up with your prescribing provider to explore alternatives. I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope you get to feeling better soon 🧡
I just diagnosed with ureoplasma. Doctors gave me vibramycin for 14 days. Is there a chance to treat it or it needs much more antibiotics; I'm allergic in some types of antibiotics so I'm afraid
Hey, I'm sorry to learn about your recent diagnosis but at the same time I'm so happy you know what's going on so that you can seek proper treatment! To your question, I've never treated ureaplasma in the clinic, as treating bacterial infections is outside of my scope of practice. I can share that I've had patients have success with antibiotics, and even had some people comment on this video sharing success with antibiotics! I think it's safe to say that while antibiotics don't always work, they do work for some people sometimes! Your fear is valid, and I'm hopeful that you'll be someone who responds to one round of antibiotics 🧡 I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope you heal soon 🤗
Hi I am dealing w all the bladder pain of mycoplasma. I’m on doxycycline as is my partner . My dr tested for everything but mycoplasma this time due to lack of tests available during this covid crisis . But, through process of elimination opted to put me on doxycycline and then as a throw myosin to treat what we think is a mycoplasma infection I have had one in the past and so we assume that this might be at this time it’s really only affecting my bladder and I am otherwise not having many other symptoms I recently had a bacterial infection treated it and it’s gone but this insane bladder pain and urgency has been such an issue that I am struggling after four days on doxycycline and even though I’m starting to feel a little better I’m still getting a lot of bladder irritation and a small amount of burning it does seem to be improving some but I’m concerned about getting rid of it completely as well as my boyfriend being on medication even though he has no symptoms. I’m concerned That we won’t get rid of it completely or that us being sexually active and not using condoms being that we are committed and I have problems with condoms being very painful that we could possibly still push it back and forth even though we’re on meds could you please give me some insight and also let me know if it’s normal that for days and then I’m not feeling a whole lot better?
Also , is it possible doxycycline won’t do the trick and I need a stronger med as will my partner ? And I’ve noticed if I drink coffee it’s much worse urgency ...
Hey Erica, I really appreciate you reaching out to me and I'm honored you're comfortable talking to me about this. I'm so, so sorry to learn of your bladder pain and struggle to diagnose mycoplasma due to COVID. Unfortunately, I cannot give individualized medical advice and pharmaceuticals are outside of my scope of practice -- Mgen/ureaplasma were never something I treated directly in the clinic -- so I have no clinical experience to draw from. I've also not personally had a mycoplasma infection, so I have no personal experience to draw from. Outside of what I share in this video, I only know what I've learned interacting with my audience, and I'm not sure what the answers are to your incredibly valid questions. I can tell you that, generally speaking, coffee tends to cause increased urgency in many healthy bladders. The same is true of carbonated beverages and teas. It may be helpful to eliminate bladder-irritating beverages while you heal, just to help manage symptoms. I really wish I could be more helpful. Don't give up on your body and its ability to heal! You deserve to feel peace ❤️
I'm honored that you're comfortable asking me; however, I cannot give individualized medical advice and prescribing medications is outside of my scope of practice. I can only encourage you to ask this same question to your prescribing physician! I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope you get to feeling better soon 🧡
I just wanna thank you so much for this video. You are one of two women who actually have a video on RUclips explaining this. I’ve been dealing with BV throughout my 20s and I’m now 30. I was recently diagnosed with painful bladder syndrome IC after much pelvic pain, painful intercourse with my boyfriend and just overall uncomfortableness. I always knew that something was wrong with that bv diagnosis, whereas sometimes I would test for it, and it would come back negative. I always wondered with all the medicine in the world. Why can’t it be cured ? To me then end up having painful bladder syndrome after watching this video I spoke with my urologist and requested the mycoplasma and Ureaplasma. Which both came back positive with Ureaplasma Urealyticum and mycoplasma hominis. I’m so glad that I finally have an answer and hopefully the antibiotics will help. The only issue is that I’m allergic to azithromycin.
Hello! I was also diagnosed with IC but I just tested positive for Ureaplasma parvum. How was your treatment? I am on my second day of doxy and my pelvis is very inflamed. What were or are your symptoms? Gracias reina ❤
@@MartaMadero hi hun! Taking Doxy was rough for me. I felt really uncomfortable and nauseous but after day 3 or 4 my symptoms subsided and by day 7 I was good as knew. I havent had a bv flare up yet and hopefully I won’t have anymore. I still have some symptoms of IC but I stopped drinking coffee orange juice anything acidic and cafe that has truly helped!! I hope that helped and I hope you feel better soon!
@@TBrazyy Hi !!! I still deal with mild IC but after the antibiotics no more bv- sex isn’t painful anymore, I do attribute that because I am on amytripoline 20 mg

Hi, I am so, so sorry to hear that you are working through this issue. Unfortunately, I cannot give individualized medical advice, and medication is outside of my scope of practice. I can only offer what I have offered in this video :( I really hope you are able to find relief.
It is outside of my scope to prescribe medication. My job is to recognize that mycoplasma and ureaplasma could be at play if I have a patient who isn't getting better! I do have two patients who ended up having these infections, both got better :) but in their cases, they responded to the typical antibiotics prescribed. My intention in sharing this video is to spread the word about these bacteria so others can get themselves tested!
That's a really good question, and there does seem to be a link between infertility in men and ureaplasma species being present in semen. Correlation doesn't always mean causation, but it does seem the two are linked.
Aww man, I’m sorry that you’re feeling fearful - but hopefully the physician who prescribed these medications knows your medical history and assessed whether you’d be a good candidate for them! Unfortunately, prescriptions are outside of my scope of practice and I cannot give individualized medical advice, so I can’t give you any more guidance than I’ve outlined in this video. I wish I could be more helpful, and I hope that you feel better soon ❤️
I'm so sorry that you're still struggling. Please don't give up on your body's ability to heal. I know our experiences are different, but having navigated my own versions of chronic pelvic infections and chronic pelvic pain, I can say that I know how dark and hopeless I could feel sometimes. Keep on enduring, and know that bodies are capable of so, so much more healing than we realize when we can create the optimal environments to support them in that healing - it's figuring out what that environment looks like that can be so tricky. You deserve to feel peace in your body and your mind. Don't give up.
Healing is not only at the point of infection healing goes a long way.... healing is also in the mind what we eat our self esteem our ability to think positive.... not just antibiotics .... it goes a long way... also .... if u have not taken the right amount of antibiotics in the correct way with the most effective sensitivity then u won't get the results u desire ... there is a way to take it

This video specifically discusses mycoplasma hominis, mycoplasma genitalia, and ureaplasma urealyticum -- as these bacteria are linked to urinary and genital infections in women and men. These bacteria don't show up on normal urinary tract infections tests/urine samples or sexually transmitted infection tests, which can make them difficult to diagnose!

Ace Pirate how long did you have the infection? Is moxifloxacin safe to use?
Can you cure ureaplasma naturally with tea tree oil or coconut oil?

Horrible.
Can Dr. office do a test to see which antibiotic will kill ureaplasma before taking Doxy ?
Yes they can
Thank you for making this video!
I wish we had more studies on it, too! I'm so glad it was a helpful video, thank you for watching and commenting 💕
Kameron Jacobs Did you succeed in getting rid of Ureaplasma /Mycoplasma infection with your patients ??
Kay B Yes but it took quite a bit of moxifloxacin to get the job done. The CDC is scheduled to publish an update in March for their treatment guidelines with more information on myco/urea so be on the lookout for that!
@@pflymusic what is quite a bit? 10 days, 21 days?
I could cry!! It's a long story but I've been trying to treat this over 3 months and have had to grapple with a yeast infection and BV alongside it all because of a man I let go down on me who had a very dirty mouth! (I know it was him because it turned out he was cheating on a woman who had it. And I say dirty because I also had HORRIBLE breath after kissing him.)
This has been a very emotional process for me, and when the 1g azithromycin I took didn't work, I cried.
I will never engage in anything that can give me this much torment.

i have been struggling for 4 years have taken 30 days of doxy and no help. I keep testing postive for ureaplasma every couple of months
If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com

As far as a man contracting gardnerella vaginalis, according to this 2015 study that looked at 165 men: mbio.asm.org/content/6/3/e00589-15.full
It looks like a man is able to carry the bacteria on his penis, but can't actually contract bacterial vaginosis!

I hope that you can continue to lean into your relationship with your body and restore your genitourinary health, and I'm really glad that some of my content is helping you find that healing 🧡

Hi,
The video is simply amazingly made.

I'm so sorry that the discomfort is persisting, and I hear you when you say that you just want this to be over.

I am so sorry to hear that you feel your doctors haven't done a good job explaining your situation to you.
As far as not being able to have children, that is such a valid fear. While this isn't my area of expertise, I will share this with you:
According to this 2016 study
* www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28078900
>> when comparing 111 women with fertility issues to 23 women without fertility issue, ureaplasma urealitycum was found in about the same % of each group (~40% of the women with fertility issues, and 35% of the women without fertility issues).
The results of this study say, "The potential negative effect of these species on the reproduction ability of women was not observed."
That doesn't mean there isn't one, but there is some evidence to suggest that infertility and ureaplasma urealitycum aren't related!
Know that this bacteria and its relationship to pelvic health is still very new -- we are still learning!
You're welcome to email me, but do remember that I antibiotics/prescription medication are outside of my scope of practice, and that I cannot give personalized medical advice.
Wishing you only the best ❤

Those are both really good questions.

Hello! thank you for the video.

It's here, if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/uzfAgvGY7Z0/видео.html
Finally, once the ureaplasma/BV subsides, given your history of pelvic pain and recent hysterectomy, you might benefit from pelvic physical therapy! You deserve to feel peace in your body and mind, and you also deserve to have pain-free, pleasurable sex if you want it. A good pelvic PT would be able to assess your history/body/pelvis/lifestyle etc. and put together a tailored plan of care to help you achieve your goals! If you live in the US, you can use this directory to find a provider near you: pelvicrehab.com/
As an aside, self-scar massage can also be helpful when healing from surgeries. Sometimes hysterectomies are performed vaginally, other times they are performed abdominally. If you have an abdominal incision, self-scar massage might be beneficial for you! You can learn more here: ruclips.net/video/yiONJEpfrn0/видео.html

Is this infection actually in the bladder or the vagina?
My understanding is that the bacteria live naturally in the urogenital tract (so urinary and reproductive -- in women, the bladder and the vagina) -- and can affect either system when they overgrow.

Unfortunately, even sensitive antibiotics may not be a solution. Drinkable form of bentonite clay is a good alternative to cure it as the negative ions in bentonite clay directly targets the positive ions in these bacteria.

The amount of doxy in the breastmilk is very very small and mostly bound to the calcium. I would not worry about it

Hi
I am dealing w all the bladder pain of mycoplasma.
