You ever notice how characters who everyone hated always ending up dying the moment they become likeable and sympathetic? George Mason, Ryan Chapelle, Lynn Mcgill, Paul Raines, Larry Moss, Blaine Meyer.
So the message is if you're a bastard, then you should stay a bastard? :D
not just being a cameraman could save you.. but staying unlikeable too.
I liked George Mason from the very beginning of season 1 😁
I’ve always liked Larry moss
@@bleedingpepper Yes.
I liked how Bauer and Mayer got to understand each others differences before Mayer got killed.
Those two could have been really good friends.
Mayer could have been a good president for future seasons too
@@ThatOilersKid indeed.

Season 7 was utterly brilliant. I place it alongside 5 as my favourite 'day'
Totally agree!
What? Season 7 was the absolute worst! Juma and his pals put on some scuba gear and they end up in the basement of the White House?😆😅
True that. 5 is the best and 7 is almost a sequel of 5. That's why they're great. 6 was the worst and was irrelevant.
One of the best pieces of dialogue in the entire series, IMO
I love a debate where both sides are right
It's true in a lot of cases. People are inclined to see arguments as a contest, when in reality (in most cases) it's an opportunity to learn and come to an agreement in furtherance of a common goal.
@@Saldio well stated. But sadly in real life debates just go on and on forever.
@@Saldio Well said.
This is the only time on 24 I can remember where the opposing position to Jack was made with nuance and conviction
This happens often. Life is full of paradoxes
I live for these moments that Jack talks about his philosophy and his way of thinking. Here you have two men who see things very differently and yet neither of them are wrong for thinking the way they think. One believes in doing whatever is necessary to get the job done, and one believes in law and rule and order to get the job done. I just wish I had bet money that Senator Mayer was about to die after this though lol. I mean Redemption had you hating the guy because he was an absolute thorn in Jack's side and here you see that he's not all that bad and him and Jack are leveling with each other and trying to see eye to eye. I remember when this season aired thinking "Yeah it might be a huge sigh of relief right now that this guy has Jack's back but something bad is about to happen" then boom, he gets killed lol.
"What I saw, was a man full of regret." I wish Mayer had stayed around longer. This scene gave him more development. Season 7 has some of the best dialogue in the show.
Season 5 is my favorite but season 7 and 4 are tied for my 2nd favorite. Season 4 for being so damn entertaining and season 7 with it's great dialogue and a lot of Jack coming to terms with his history
A big improvement over season 6
@@christopherbuckley5929 season 6 sucked. I agree. I think it was because missing Tony Almeida in season 6. I would see season focussing on Tony redemption. Maybe they could bring Jack Bauer back. Could do small ark. To bad Curtis manning died for nothing.
@@pychopathsyphonf1528 season 6 sucked because it was more of the same - a rehash of previous seasons and original ideas. For any first time watcher of the show, it was really good. But for longtime fans, it got so old. Getting rid of CTU, keeping only the best characters still alive, introducing new supporting characters, and questioning the ethics of Bauer's methods....helped made 24 fresh again. Too bad this season 7 got virtually no love from any awards and became the beginning of the end for the series as a whole.
I agree 100 Percent!
Mayer was evolving into innerstanding Jack’s Thinking Through Jack’s Worldview!
I regret every decision and mistake I might have made that resulted in the loss of an innocent life.
But you know what I regret the most? That this world even needs people like me.
One of the best lines of the season in my book.

@@MetalSmasherGaming I like when he says "with all due respect madame president, ask around."
24 will always be a personal favorite.
24 Hours is still my favourite and best of all films/movies I have watched...
This is one of several 24 characters who we hated originally, then turns good-then gets killed. It also happened with Ryan Chappelle, and FBI Head Larry Moss.😌
i didnt like larry moss being killed so early, he had a lot of potential, such a wasted character
Billy Joyce put tom lennox in too.
You can pinpoint the exact moment you know a character like the ones you mentioned is going to die.
"Hey, this guy isn't so ba--... oh fuck, he's gonna die!"
You can also add George Mason to that list.
while Tony turned bad and didn't get killed. What can we learn from this?
One of my personal favorite scenes in the show. Don't get me wrong I love the action. But the periods when the episodes take a breath are also very good
Who'd you send ? 'Quinn' 'ohh Quinn's good' 'Bauer's good too'
Patrick Curtis 😏
i had high expectations that it would be good when they both meet.
That was awesome. Good to see Bauers enemies respect him as much or more then his "allies".
He sent the vampire who hunts vampires 😂
Great acting from both of them, and a great character for Kurtwood.
These two characters had some incredible chemistry making the Senator's death even more tragic.
It pissed me off to no end that Mayer got capped soon after this.
I was disappointed too. They really made you care for and identify with him, so of course he gets killed right after.
24 was at the point then that there was little continuity between seasons. Maybe if Jack was to stay in Washington for 2 more seasons after this one, then Mayer could have been developed into a pivotal character.
Agreed, would have made it much better if he was, say, incapacitated? A non-fatal gun shot wound. I have a fantasy where Mayer somehow goes in to a hearing right after that scene of Kim at Jack's bedside, where Almeida is being present, but this time he goes there with a bit more understanding of how the person sitting opposite to him thinks, all while still remaining firm.
The robo cop killer lol
"You just need to understand - where I work, things get a lot messier than where you work on the Hill"
Exactly. The people commanding the actions of a foot soldier never get their hands dirty when necessary, they never get to see or experience the messier part of solving problems for a government.
@Peter Jesper True. The fact is that no commander in chief ever suffers from PTSD that is very common among soldiers who fight in the front lines.
It just hit me that one of Jack's antagonist (Henderson) was Robocop and two other antagonists (Mayer and Jack's brother) were the men that killed Robocop
Really. Lol
What Jack Bauer said was absolutely Mind Blowing!🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Fantastic scene.
Luis Garza #SOOOOGOOD
Jack: Damn it!
Sen Mayer: Dumb ass!!
Great scene
I love how How Jack says "Maybe you didn't dig deep enough".The same way he said that the things he deals with on the Hill, aren't the same for what Jack deals with.I freaking love Jack Bauer, and this show.Time is running out for a complete conclusion to the Jack Bauer saga...
A lot of this season was introspective for Jack
I always thought that if Jack had actually succumb to the pathogen at the end, this season would've been an excellent final one. It wraps up old relationships (Jack & Kim, Jack & Tony, Tony & Michelle), generally reflects on the character and show's entire philosophy, hands the world saving missions off to Renee and President Taylor, and brings Jack's story to a close.
If the last we ever see of Jack is on that chopper to Russia, I think I would've preferred it to end in a hospital room with Kim by his side.
EWall1498 I agree. When this season ended I was content with it left on a cliff hanger of would he survive or not?
But totally totally was happy for a Jack and Renee romance in season 8 😂
Damn if Jack died without tapping that.
EWall1498 definitely! And maybe, actually show him succumbing to it as we fade out with a final silent clock.
I wonder why they didn’t go that route? Sure would have been a hell of a lot better than season eight and “Live Another Day.“
💰 is why they kept 24 going, that and we all wanted more lol
A bummer that Red Forman couldn't put a foot that assassin's ass
Does he at least get to say "dumbass" once? Haven't seen the season entirely
@@subman23 afraid not.
@@Mr.Nobody01211 oh well, seems like it'd be out of character for this guy anyway, so I guess I ain't too mad about it. But still, if Alex Danvers (played by Chyler Leigh) can reference her old job in Seattle, I had reason to hope
Clarence Bodicker and David coming to an understanding... (For Those who Gets This Reference) 😏
This was not the Kurtwood Smith that we were used to seeing, even earlier in the season........gentle almost, earnest, yet honest.......but it's always great to be reminded that he has that club in his bag.
Judgmental prick suddenly turning into a relatable and understanding character. No way 24 would pass on abruptly murdering him.
One of my favorite scenes in 24
This is a very hard debate to answer, because there is no definitive answer. The world would be a better place if everyone would set their greed and hatred aside to just do the right thing and be a good person. I believe we should set an example and not go looking for trouble, but I also believe we should be ready to get a little dirty to stop those who wish to harm us when the moment calls for it.
It’s really a question of which action can you live with? Can you live with preserving your humanity over stopping something horrible? Or can you live with losing a part of yourself to stop something horrible?
As Raymond Reddington once said, “Be ready to face the consequences of your actions.”
I think season 7 is a very underrated season. After season 6 (the weakest imo). 7 was breath of fresh air
Season 7 is arguably my second favourite of them all, now i started really with season 5 tough. Still i agree with season 6 being the weakest, I mean I really liked it before and it has some moments, but it has in retrospect for me , I have come to agree that is probably the weakest one
I’m pretty sure most of the Robocop cast appeared on 24
hahaha right??...what a coincidence, peter weller is one of the best villain on 24
You always have great timing when you post up clips like this. Definitely relevant to Syria and U.S. foreign policy in general post WW2.
Agreed. If he had posted this before WW2 it wouldn't have had the same impact.
Jack lived his life careening from one 24 hour crisis to another, always facing existential threats that required extreme measures. Mayer took the long view, recognizing that CTU and Jack's actions during those 24 hour periods had far reaching consequences.
There was meant to be a follow up interview at 8 the next morning with Jack at the Senate building again, I wonder how that might have gone. Mayer comes across as very reasonable and sympathetic in this scene, not just another shady politician on a witch hunt.
Fantastic
Ryan Chappelle must be near the top of Jack's regrets.
Ofcourse I have regret,, I regret losing my family. My fiance walked out on me because of the way I treated her during the time she needed me the most. I can't even see my daughter.
A melhor série do mundo, e o melhor ator do mundo!
At one point 24, LOST, and House were all on the air at the same time. Prime network television.
Oh yah before propaganda and subversion was...lets say not subtle at all to, will never see the likes of such an era again!.
Don't forget Prison Break.
@@LalondeFilms oh yeah first few seasons were legit
Even action heroes have regrets during their story arch
I remember this old man...the man who kill Robocop.
This is the best and it has expose the politicians
it was the moment so satisfied.. that ended in 1 minute and return to more catastrophe
Who would have thought that clarence bodicker would become a good politician...
No insults by the legend Red Foreman.
Unfortunately the senator was giving his last words unknown to him.
I've read that Keifer suffers bad hearing loss in one ear, due to all the sound exposure throughout his career. It goes with the job I guess.
主人公に対して反省の弁を述べる→死亡フラグ😂
Could you upload the senate hearing scene?
I cant watch this because I hear President Kirkman speaking to Red Forman
do you remember senator Meyer
Hey where can I find this instrumental?
Jack always upto the task
I'm not cool with this character having been killed. Even after seeing the whole season.
Or, as Red from That 70s Show Might Have said... "What are you going to put on your resume, Jack, 'Dumbass'?"
Shouldn't be anyone's job to "lead the world" let alone what America has become.
I know people were sad when Blaine got killed but I didn't. He's an idiot for answering the door (ironic how Kurtwood's character called people dumbass in That 70s Show), but here was just that opening the door
red forman dies :(
Weirdest episode of that 70’s show ever
En français sûr vous plais
24 Season 7 made some poor creative choices. It would have been nice to keep Senator Mayer alive for later in the day or even a cameo in the next season. That's one criticism I have of 24 - they rarely connected a thread between the seasons aside from Cheng Zhi. Of couse, nothing is as bad as Season 6, the worst 24 season ever.
