This was going to be about Brad Johnson and his career but that was hardly highlighted in this. I played against him at AFL level and what I admire most is at a junior level he was not the best in the business but he made himself the best at AFL level and he deserves every credit given to him
yes, Scott WEst and Brad Johnson, 2 of the most underrated players in afl/vfl history. without a doubt. wasnt west 7 times best and fairest and nearly won 2 brownlows? yet noone ever speaks about him , eh?
He was phenomenal. Miss him terribly. Really glad that I lived in the right lifetime to see him play. People forget how good he was, and that’s understandable with all the stars of the modern era taking the spotlight, but god, thanks for this due recognition of a legend of the game.
Definitely underrated but not the best. One game that comes to mind was when Johsnon kicked 8 on Scarlett with Geelong at the peak of their powers. Terrific mark for a small man.
As a north supporter, would pick Acka, every time, one of the most dangerous midsize player in a crisis game,he was born for the big stage moments.cold as ice.
How appropriate an overrated mark was taken over an overrated player. Before ya start, I know nobody agrees with me. Oh he stretched his back, mark of the century!
Is he the guy that the little guy from Essendon with red hair took mark of the century ? I think the guys names was morecroft and he was on this guy’s shoulders for almost the whole game he went that high. In my opinion Brad Johnson will only be remembered for having one of the best marks of the century taken on him by a guy half his size.
Stevie J, Chapman, akermanis, Nathan brown. Depends how you’re gonna compare them and their roles really. I’d rate Milne as a small forward like betts. Charlie Cameron is on his way to being a powerhouse medium forward.
Ironically, material like this further highlights how underrated he is. Any chance of Lloyd not being completely derailed and overspoken, or was an intention due to some rather critical thinking? Regardless, could've really touched on something special here, considering the Dog's current positive media disposition. Brad Johnson was The Bulldog
Lol I just want to know how many premierships did Johnson win and how many did Cyril win. Johnson wasn't even that good was never a match winner like Cyril. My personal favourite was Darryl white from the Brisbane lions

Brad Johnson one of my favourite footballers ever and I'm a tiger fan.
At 185cm, Ablett senior is clearly considered midsized. No doubt he is the best!

six foot. solid as a tank was Johnson. small man? well not the largest, but hardly a midget in the tony liberatore category..
There's more sway on Lloyd than the Leaning Tower of Pisa
100%. Was an absolute gun

Will only be remembered by thousands as the guy Gary Moorcroft took one of the best marks of the century on

Out of curiosity where do we class D Martin? Is he a forward or a mid ?

Gary ablett senior was way better. And was only 1 inch taller and 7kg heavier
Leigh Mathhews : Hold my beer ... Johno you got to be kidding , not even top 5
And Gary Ablett Senior, Malcolm Blight, Peter Daicos.
Stevie J, Chapman, akermanis, Nathan brown. Depends how you’re gonna compare them and their roles really. I’d rate Milne as a small forward like betts. Charlie Cameron is on his way to being a powerhouse medium forward.
Jezza 115 goals one season at 5' 11".
Stevie J, Chapman, Modra, Jarman, Capper, the list goes on and on.
Chapman? Is that a joke?
Modra? Is that a joke?
Jarman? Is that a joke?
weird to here tj refer to it as etihad in 03 from 2020
Daicos. Come on seriously
Ablett snr?
He's not really medium sized
@@676LAB 185 cm, he ain't tall.
Played as a medium sized half forward flanker for majority of his career.
Leigh Matthews, anyone?
Leigh Matthews GOAT
Jason Ackermanis holds that mantle . I dont think Johnson played in 3 premierships or won a Brownlow.
Steve Johnson was the best
By the stats, Steve just shaded Brad, except for contested marks and kicks per game.
Yes, how quickly we forget. Stevie J and Brad Johnson are both fantastic.
Ablett Snr Leigh Matthews pretty good maybe Aker
Marc Mercuri?
Ottens was pivotal.

Lee Mathews no one else comes close and i am a dogs supporter
Two words cyril rioli
Kevin Ferguson one word swampmouth. Ok technically it’s two words mashed together but it sounds cool

Greatest. Mid size forward. Ever..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HA
nope 2nd to daicos goat
Paul Chapman?
Who?
Lol biggest sook ever
or lethal x 2 better than brad
No wonder Nathan Brown is such a flog.
Stop it, you cannot be serious.
When you have a panel of Lloyd, Barrett and Cornes on a regular basis your arguments tend to become idiotic and stupid as a result.
Heeney?
