This video is a video response to a comment that was left on my other video which showed you how to create the Hiren's BootCD 15.2. This video will show you how to remove a bios password using the Hiren's BootCD 15.2.
If you haven't already got the Hiren's BootCD 15.2, then you can watch my video on 'How to create and use the Hiren's BootCD 15.2' here: • How to create and run ...

@MEXICOTVE The second thing to try is using default passwords. These are some of the default Bios passwords used with different Bios's; give them a try first. Some of them will even override your old password allowing you to enter and reset or change it so these main ones are worth trying.
AMI
Award
bios
setup
cmos
concat
AMI_SW (case sensitive)
AMI!SW/
AMI?SW/
j262
NOTE: With respect to the Award BIOS, the "AWARD_SW" (use without quotes) and (is case sensitive) should override an old password.
Which is exactly what I suggest as a first method on my webpage, the link to which is in the description.
@DeathXLight28 The reason for this wait is because the computer can still store power in its capacitors even though everything is unplugged. The waiting period allows enough time for them to discharge.
Plug everything back in, power up the computer and enter the BIOS again. If everything went well there should be no more password. In some cases, if you get error messages during bootup now, you will need to go to “Load BIOS Defaults” in BIOS and save the changes to fix them. I hope I helped.
Lenovo notebooks have a TPM chip onboard. Those are harder to mess with because the PW, fingerprint samples for the fingerprint reader, system passwords, etc are stored on this chip instead of the HDD or CMOS. I think there is a way to scan the chip with another PC via serial cable and a hex editor app but you have to rig up a custom cable and spot solder wires on certain legs of the TPM chip. A big PITA IMO
Not lame, just the fact that software updates. The Hiren's BootCD's interface has changed somewhat since February 17 2011 (over a year ago!). I'm sure it can't be that hard to find.
@PisTTasha No problem. I'm pleased that I helped you out.
bro, i cant enter the boot menu because i need a password for that
this
same here ;(
Did you ever find a resolve for this? Thanks!
I figured it out after a sleepless night..MY METHOD ONLY WORKS IF U CAN STILL BOOT TO WINDOWS ..U add a bootentry to ur usb ..so basically download a program called EASYBCD and click add entry select ur usb and restart and viola
@MrXrifen This process should work on any computer running Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7, so yes, it should work on your Lenovo Thinkpad. However, using BIOS password removers is unreliable. I would suggest trying the methods listed on my website first (link to this article is in the video description).
@satraviany That's an exceptionally generic comment. You have not told me exactly what you cannot get to work and, in addition, I did specifically mention that these bios password removers do not always work and are very unreliable. This is a video response to a comment left on one of my videos showing them where to find the bios password changers on the Hiren's BootCD and that is exactly what this video shows you. If, however, you think I can help you with your problem, then please elaborate.
@CannabisSativa713 No; the CD is not magical unfortunately. To run from any removable media at bootup you either have to use a boot menu to force it to to boot from that on this particular startup, or the boot order in the BIOS must be set to boot from your given removable media before the operating system. The former does not require a BIOS password to be inputted, the latter does. If you can't boot from your CD, please visit my website's page on this topic (link in description) for more info.
@miristhere Technically, the operating system installed should make no difference to the success of removing a BIOS password as the utilities work in the BIOS not the operating system. Therefore the success rate of these BIOS utilities on the Hiren's BootCD depend upon the type of BIOS. If the computer that has Windows 7 on has the same kind of BIOS as XP one, then it should work on that to. As I said in the video, these utilities are somewhat unreliable unfortunately. Thanks for commenting.
@Truth128 Personally, the Hiren's BootCD is great considering it's completely free and it does work for most people. Thanks for sharing your experiences with it though.
@ZyphsMw2 I'm not sure whether you have quite grasped the scenario here. If you need to remove a BIOS password, it is because your can't enter the BIOS without entering a password (which you don't know). To 'change the password through the BIOS via command' you would need to have access to the BIOS surely? I'm guessing that's what you mean by 'through the BIOS'. In this scenario, the user is locked out of the BIOS, so removable media must be used (or remove and replace the CMOS battery/jumpers).
@SystemFluvix I use the Gigabyte P67A-UD7 motherboard which has the following BIOS specifications:
- 2 x 32 Mbit flash
- Use of licensed AWARD BIOS
- Support for DualBIOS™
- PnP 1.0a, DMI 2.0, SM BIOS 2.4, ACPI 1.0b
guys...its works....give a applause to musicarta
Quick question does this work on *newer* computers. Got a 2018 laptop I forgot the administrator password that I need to repair the windows
@OfftheHeZie Sorry, this doesn't change the fact that my knowledge of errors on this particular version is very limited; I didn't even know about the CD when it was in version 10.6; I found out about it in 11.0. All I can suggest is trying to create it again (presuming you have the required files). If you don't, I haven't got anything else to suggest I'm afraid. Sorry that I could not be of more help. Have a great day!
@MEXICOTVE The first and most effective method that you can try is removing the CMOS battery on your motherboard leaving it out for about 10 minutess, and then replacing it. This almost always resets the bios password and is the most common way to do so. Another simple option is to clear the CMOS jumpers. Both require you to open up your computer, but it is very simple and easy to do. There are other videos on RUclips which will give you a demonstration. I haven't got one up at the moment.
@matushoz There are other methods of removing a Windows password (including other programs that one can use, perhaps even some that are already on the Hiren's BootCD as we speak) but I'm afraid I haven't got the time to thoroughly check for you. You will be able to remove a Windows password, just not with the ONTPRE (program demonstrated in this video).
@CannabisSativa713 So your real question is, can I boot to a CD with a Dell XPS that will not allow me to enter the BIOS. Well that depends whether the your Dell has a simple boot menu at bootup by tapping a key. This would allow you to boot from the CD on that one occasion. If you're Dell doesn't have a boot menu, then without access to the BIOS, you will have a difficult job booting from any removable media. Alternatively, you could of course try to use these programs within Windows itself.
You're a king
@mihaibaboi I am happy to help you with your problem. "The hieren's CD don't working" is very vague. Are you having trouble getting the files onto the disc (receiving an error etc.) or are you having trouble running the disc at start-up? Once you have explained exactly what your problem is in more detail, I will help you in any way I can.
@Lilrhyme88 Removing a windows password with the Hiren's BootCD = always works.
Removing a BIOS password with the Hiren's BootCD = pretty unreliable (as mentioned in the video).
I do, however have a webpage about how to remove a BIOS password in a more conventional (and reliable) way. The address is in the description box. Be sure to check it out. It is under the subheading 'How to remove a BIOS password using more reliable methods:'
Indeed it does. This process is no less likely to work on a laptop than a desktop PC.
The version of software used in the video is 13.1 and not 15.2 as claimed in the title of the video.
@MEXICOTVE Awesome. I'm glad I was able to help you out.
@Musicarta The last stage after I have chosen my keyboard language. It actually says press enter key to continue.
If I select the dos programs and it doesn't run, it gives me an error, then what would I do next?
Yes, as suggested on my website.
Bro, the .iso file (be it WinXP or Hiren's) after being used for booting via Rufus, can't it be used again for booting? Because there were comments during the copying process that some of the files were lost.
@lazydany1 I'm not sure what you mean by normal PC (I'm guessing that you mean a desktop PC as oppose to a laptop PC; if that's the case, then this video was recorded on a desktop PC. This process will work on both a laptop and desktop PC that runs (I think) Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7. Anyway, it definitely know that this works for Windows 7 as this is the operating system shown in this video. I hope I helped.
i have a IBM laptop Model T43 & i forgot my BIOS password. what i do for removing the password... if u have any suggestion so plz share with me......
This only works on old legacy BIOS passwords that can also be erased by removing the cmos battery. Won't work on modern UEFI systems that stores credentials inside a secure encrypted nvram area.
@suhailgunit I have already answered this question in a briefer form in the comments section of this video not too long ago. However, I have sent you a a full reply in a RUclips message. I hope it helps.
i have a fujitsu siemens and i have a password on bios i cant remove it so i will need some help.. i'm a little confuzed if this iso will work on fujitsu.. the bios it phoenix...
@Musicarta my problem it is, when i on power a few sesond will asking a bios password, i cannot boot, so how can i do? please help thanks!
@V3Parkour At what point do you 'press any key to continue'?
@Musicarta ALL I have is "Enter Bios Password" as an option. I have a Toshiba Satellite and a Sony Vaio both same thing. I NEED HELP!!!
i bought hiren's cd but how to go boot menu select for cd room because when i turn on laptop it comes just password. i try from f12 and f2 but no going to boot menu.
Well, the Hiren's BootCD originally comes as an ISO file, as demonstrated in my 'How to create and run the Hiren's BootCD 15.2' video, so yes, indeed you can.
does not work on E-System Ei 3103 laptop, cant get boot from cd option without entering the bios password first...
i have used the hirens cd usb to remove a windows password but when i try and do it on a hp mini to remove bios password it doesnt allow me any ideas it just takes me back to password screen
It didn't work on Dell Latitude XT, I even pulled the small battery out and it won't delete the damn password but it did reset the settings!!! Some help would be apriciated!
I did exactly as you showed but it gives me the following prompt command R:\TOOLS> After a long time of thinking...I randomlly type bios and then it gave me a list...among the list P=find bios password.... U= find bios universal password.... I have tried both but it takes me back to R:\TOOLS> but it did nor remove the bios password...what is next can you help?
@DeathXLight28 No problem. I'm guessing you were surprised that a RUclipsr actually answered your quest promptly with a video response I always try and do my best in responding as quickly as I can. I hope it works for you.
there is no way to boot a cd wen a bios password is set it wont let you go no were unless you input a password so how can this help?
@DeathXLight28 This problem only usually occurs in Windows XP, so I'm guessing that's what you are using. This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
-You have "automatically restart" selected.
-The Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 or Direct CD 5.0 program is installed on your computer.
If you have the above program, let me know and I will reply back with a solution. If you don't have the above program I will reply back with a solution to the 'automatically restart' selected issue.
@wxwangxin2000 It does not work on a by computer basis; it works on a by BIOS basis, and even then, there's still chance that it could work with any BIOS. You should just try. You should probably, however, click the link in the description first under the subheading 'How to remove a BIOS password using more reliable methods:'. Using BIOS password removal tools is somewhat unreliable.
I got a similar problem. I got the HP Elitebook 8460p and it has a BIOS password, and I got a new SSD without any operating systemn installed on it, but my DVD-RW is disabled in BIOS, so that I can boot only from HDD and Network. How can I enable the DVD-RW drive? Please help, it frustrates me! Thx!
Click the link in the description under the subheading 'How to remove a BIOS password using more reliable methods:' to go to the relevant page on my website to see if you have any luck using those methods instead (they don't require booting to a CD).
@XvEmoKittyvX Thanks. I have had no problem getting into Mini Windows XP myself on the Hiren's BootCD 13.1. My only suggestion would be to re-burn the ISO file to the disc or if it is not a rewritable CD, re-burn it on a new CD.
how can you change the boot order if it asks for a supervisor password? I have a t410 and there's a supervisor password right when you turn on the laptop, any ideas?
How about a laptop that is not booting but going directly to the enter bios password screen. How do you use Hiren boot 15.1 to generate a password while using another/2nd party laptop? please, will truly appreciate the help. It's a samsung np-n102sp mini-notebook which has a 18-digit hexa-decimal code whereas all blogs have 16-digit codes..
Hi sir, please I have a Toshiba Satellite c660 laptop, which shows me enter password and it also refuses to show the pc BIOS. what can I do to fix it? (if it Please)🙏🙏🙏
ok , but my don`t working , I have a emachines e 525 and the hieren`s CD don`t working. Please help me with this problem.
p.s. I have using hieren`s 13.1 version.
When i press any key to continue, all that happens is R:\TOOLS> displays. What do I do?
what if our first boot option is not cd/dvd or flash drive and BIOS is locked with a password??? system will not boot from hiren boot cd because first boot option is hard disk... and i cannot change the boot order because its asking the BIOS password???
I would love to be able to try and remove the bios password however not being able to boot into the bios to change the boot order does present a problem. Any suggestions??
dosnt always work as most new laptop bios store there password on a separate flash and removing the battery dose nothing
You bought the Hiren's BootCD? But this CD is free! If you can't find your boot menu or your computer doesn't have one, then you will instead need to change the boot order in your BIOS. I have already uploaded a video on how to do this - you can find it on my channel.
Reasons why this isn't a full proof solution:
1. Some people might not want to lose a chuck-load of data/programs which may be important to them since a BIOS password was added.
2 Some computer's come with a BIOS password originally, so there would be no point to restore to in this case.
3. Often, the motherboard saves the BIOS password separate to the operating system entirely, rendering system restoring to a previous point useless on many computers.
@Musicarta due to the BIOS password it is impossible to load any operating system without first correctly inserting the BIOS password. i was wondering that if this bootcd would override the BIOS password prompt and simply begin doing its thing
The Lenovo uses a Phoenix bios. Not sure which type was hoping someone could find out for me and also I've tried all backdoor passwords like BIOS bios CMOS cmos phoenix & PHOENIX
@Musicarta ill try it later..
but can i ask u another question??
do you know whats the problem on my pc??
whenver i turn off my computer it doesnt turnoff but just restart...
do u have any idea whats the problem?
It certainly is possible, yes. I have done it myself in the past for tutorial purposes.
will this work with a dell xps that will not allow me to enter the bios. assuming the boot order priority isn't set to disc
@DeathXLight28 I'm very surprised that the jumper and CMOS battery methods didn't work. My last shot at removing your BIOS password is to try the backdoor/admin passwords. As there are so many, I have sent them to you via a RUclips message. Good luck
hi guys ..... i am removing bios password hiren boot cd 15.2 but not successful. What is do ?
I have a portable pc I bought this year and it worked fine it doesn't work for the account's pass cause it's not the same
I have a lenovo leptop and I want to know how to remove bios password please help me
no it's not working with me on lenovo thinkpad t400 plz help me thankyou
i tried it but right when i boot the computer the password come on and i cant boot the cd at all
what should i do??
Is this working with UEFI mashines as well? Also if the password is programmed somewhere in the eprom (?) - I mean the case where removing the battery does nothing.
HP Elitebook 8470p
Hello Sir, I have the same problem. How to remove a Bios Password with my Acer netbook? Can you help me also?
i dont have access to the bios so by default it will boot from the hard disk, will this still work ?
aw this works on laptops? or no.. i have downloaded and try it out but.. none password// its there
@MEXICOTVE I do advise avoiding the bios password removers/crackers if you can as I mentioned in the video. I'm afraid, that I am not confident with using these tools either and so I don't feel confident enough on the subject in order to explain how to us them.
I hope I have helped you and good luck in removing the bios password. Please comment back if I have helped you out in any way.
I have two optiplex has and another deal that ain't really worth trying to save but I have a virus or something in the bios update address somewhere and it's keeping me from installing Windows and gives havoc to my Linux. It also has a tendency to keep me from keeping a good copy of the DVDs CDs and USBS that I used to try to install a bootleg machine and I would love to know if there's any way that I could find a way to get to address and wipe it or hell I'd be glad to wipe the entire update if I have to or updates anything to do with updates at all.
Hi, Its the HDD password i need to remove which is on the drive, as soon as you put it in any machine it comes up locked HDD in the bios, so will this remove it, thanx.
I have the Hirens disk but my problem is. when I turn on my PC it asks for a password. F12 or anything else I do will not let the computer bo/ot up.. In other words I can not get to any screen except the one that comes up when I turn the machine on. Any suggestions
@OfftheHeZie Naturally, I don't provide support for outdated versions, especially versions as old as 10.6. I uploaded a video on 'How to create and run the Hiren's BootCD', the latest version, just a few days ago. I urge you to go and watch this video and create the latest version of the CD to try and remedy your problem first. The link can be found in the description box above. Have a great day!
Hi there!. I have a big problem with my laptop. It's not new , so here comes the problem, I tried to instal a new operating system on it, but I failed because I don't have the password from BIOS.I can't set up the system to boot from CD-RW. The operating system is "dead". Is there a way to find the BIOS password?
Thanks!
Have a nice day!
I am also wondering whether it will work with Thinkpad with eeprome. Musicarta, have you tried?
try pressing ESC key if yourF2, F8, F10, F12 do not work on you. mostly sony have to press ESC key to get into boot menu. but u have to press it as soon u start your Laptop or PC. otherwise it will go into bios password window and u have to do this again.
i just known to say Thank you very much!by your way,i had loss power-on password on my HP 6910p.
Just got Hiren's 15.1, burned, followed steps in this video.... I have no "next 9" option on mine. And "Dos" from there, is different. Lame!
The search continues.
My bios is not allowing me to boot from the DVD? What are my options? Thanks for the tool; it seems like a great program set!
I guess you already found a solution, since its already been a year ago. But what is is the boot order? You can deploy HBD through usb or pxe as well.
put an empty HD in
just try boot using F keys example F1,F2,F3...probably will be F2 or F6
It works on a sony vaio laptop too?
@cryptotooth 99% of computers have a boot menu which can be opened at start up and the user can then decide which media to boot from. 95% of said computers don't require the BIOS password to be entered to open this boot menu. So, to conclude, you should, based on the laws of probability, be able to boot from this CD and therefore use it without hindrance. I hope I was able to shed some light on this for you. Have a great day!
Is it possbile to to this using virtualbox? My usb boot is disabled from bios :(
my dad disabled boot from cd on my computer... what to do
Will this work on an HP Touchsmart PC 2md2130knw?
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz @ 4.50GHz Sandybridge CPU

@mihaibaboi I have sent you a lengthily message via RUclips as it was too large to fit in the comments. I didn't want to spam my own video with it all :). I hope you find it useful.
yea ok but i did that and the password its there even whit out the battery .. the leptop starts and the same staf .. ask for password
@Musicarta uhmm i dont have that kind of program but lasttime i used the hiren boot cd and put automatically log on.. but it doesnt work anymore.. i was thinking that was the reason why my computer always restart...
so i dont have any program installed.. :)
what to do after tools? I stuck there
This depends on the computer and the type of BIOS, actually.
@feawen51 Then you shall have to use a different method. Please read the description and click the link under the subheading 'How to remove a BIOS password using more reliable methods:'. This will take you to my website which will explain some safer and more reliable methods of removing the BIOS password. I actually suggest using the methods listed their before trying the one in this video.
what should i do when laptop read HHD 1 time , but run or read CD or DVD 2 time i can't log on set Bios read cd frist time How to remove a Bios Password i can do
