Here in central Texas most of the Constabulary prefers an armed citizen. At least all the officers and deputies I know say they appreciate the armed citizens. I don’t carry a silcock key on me, but I do have one in my jeep. And I also carry a lock pick set everywhere. It’s a great skill to have. I prefer a fixed blade to a folder for edc. My edc is a TOPS Brakimo.
Don’t believe that items can be labelled as “must have”, as people and skills vary, as does environment (including legalities). It is always good tho to see what others consider “must have” to broaden considerations and perspective. Cheers for sharing!
Great stuff! I personally prefer a small fixed blade to a folder, even if neck or boot knife. Moving parts break. And if you have the choice, I'd advise a fixed blade first, then a folder for binary or tertiary. Not disagreeing, just my opinion! Keep up the work! Survival with no gear, instead of showing if u have this or that. How to with absolutely nothing is what a majority of people need to see. If you have the gear, u should have the dirt time and training. Help those less fortunate!
@theaveragewoodsman6002 I agree, I heard your comment about your bag, my bad, didn't register. I just heard for you in urban u carry folders.. which I agree, I carry a couple as back up, but my 2 primary are fixed blades. I know you probably agree, just trying to clarify!
@@jasongarling20 for sure. I just prefer the convenience of a folder around town. Plus, I'm generally just opening boxes and such, not carving, batoning, etc. Like out in the woods.
My son had a lockpick set and on a whim I asked to tinker with it. I spent 20 minutes playing and learning on a padlock.... 20 minutes. I stood up and walked to the backdoor. I had the deadbolt open in 30 seconds flat. Our houses are not secure. Act accordingly. Lol👀
Some places may consider that last item to be unlawful possession of burglary tools if you are not a licensed locksmith. Not legal advice but something to maybe look into. Not mention, the EDC 🐶.😁
I like your mentality, young feller. Looking forward to that get home bag perspective/choices.
Thank you!
Really nice
Thanks!

Well, here in Florida, you can legally carry a lock pick set as long as you're not using them in the commission of a crime.
In my town. You carry a lock Pic set. You're going to jail if the police find it during a search.
Sounds like you need to move.
@@theaveragewoodsman6002Amen to that. I live in Canada and even I laughed at that.
