Case Files otRMPRS Vol 2 was in my september too! I read and enjoyed The Night Guest by Hildur Knutsdottir 3.75☆, it looks longer than it is bc some chapters are as short as 1 word. My best horror adjacent book was Her Spell that Binds Me by Luna Oblonsky which has witches and good horror elements but is a little more focused on sapphic smut. The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo and The Fossil Hunter by Tea Cooper were good historical mysteries with a dash of horror! I read three RUclipsr books last month and yours was far and away the best!
