I'm so glad almost all the comments on here support Kevin Hart. Rob Schneider talked about this on the news and how people are now scared to be comedians. You have to be able to poke fun at people and joke to be a comedian. And now everything is blown up and so many comedians are having their careers destroyed. And you have to be so politcally correct, or you can loose your entire career and be blacklisted. Even in this case from stuff that's 10 years old. Our country is getting close to the point of censorship and that's super scary. Rob said freedom of speech means freedom of speech not just speech that you like.

His explanation and reason for stepping down was perfectly said. If we all applied for jobs and handed in a list of our past tweets, conversations or comments then I'm sure they'd be something to find that someone would be offended by. He's apologized, he knows the comment was wrong, and shouldn't have been so publicly scrutinized for a comment he already apologized for years ago. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Hart and hopes he gets an opportunity like this again in the future. Thank you Ellen for supporting him!
A comedian who always makes a room rowdy made the room dead silent with full attention for whole couple of minutes. His words here are really valuable and meaningful.
This is sadly what comes from a click-bait, algorithm driven world. Whatever offends the most people is what gets reported on, shared, and pushed through the online noise, regardless of whether it leaves out half the story. People will never escape their pasts like this, especially when we all get our kicks for shaming people for making mistakes.
People want the ignorant to change, yet refuse to forgive them when they do. They feed on negativity because it makes them feel powerful. People like that ultimately don't care if people change or not - the attack is simply a way to feel powerful.
I feel really bad for him to be honest. I am a gay white male and I don't think he deserved all of this! The oscars lost a golden opportunity to have one of the best host and best ever years by letting him go!
Not only did they want him to apologise AGAIN. They also wanted him to now be an advocate for a message that isn't his own. To me Kev been watering down his comedy for years chasing "mainstream" acceptance. I'm not mad at that, secure the bag bro. But do not allow yourself to be used as a puppet and held hostage. Good for you!
Kevin Hart got railroaded by the PC police... I'd be honored if some fellow concerned Americans who appreciate 80s/90s music would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal covers of PURPLE RAIN by Prince and PRAYING FOR TIME by George Michael on my channel in tribute to 2 of the greatest vocalist-songwriters in music history. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.
What I don't think Kevin Hart and others realize is that these witch hunts are carried out by a very vocal minority. Mainstream America gets it and doesn't hold a grudge. Kevin Hart should host, because 9/10 people don't care what he said ten years ago, especially if he already apologized.
@@noahheninger It might be the voice of the minority but when every news outlet or journalist are talking about it, it doesn't really become as quiet as it should be and instead it's the only thing that people hear

lisa marie williams Dude has never actually apologized. He's full of BS and is being completely self indulgent here. A minute apology and some volunteer work for the LGBT community would go far further than these lies and self indulgences.
Appreciate Ellen for giving a stage to Kevin where he can be heard and understood!! We're all just human, we all make mistakes but that's how we learn.. Love to Ellen and Kevin
To know that there's people who spend all their time scrolling back 10 years of tweets just to try and get attention brought to themselves by bringing up those meaninglessness tweets again is just completely sad. And the fact that so many acknowledged it when these people do that is just so wrong. I mean these people took away one of this man's dreams and brought a whole lot of negativity to his name just for a few days of attention. Honestly people like that should be fined for harrassment because thats what it is.
I'm pretty sure its less about people trying to get attention and more about tabloids trying to get attention to get clicks to get rich, also I think Kevin Hart could sue the people who wrote those articles if he accuses them of character assassination.
Actually, pretty much since those tweets came out, people have been asking him to address them - in junkets, press conferences, etc. and he never directly has, or has been dismissive. So it didn't come out of the blue to a lot of people but was moreso that after 10 years, he finally had to address them because now they had more traction in the media after the hosting decision.
His biggest mistake is apologizing for it again. If people don't accept your first apology, then they don't deserve another. That said, this whole thing is ridiculous, for the reasons he explained here.
He hasn't learned anything, though. His apologies are all non-apologies (see the alleged apologies during the Get Hard promotions). He's sorry he faced consequences. He can move forward without hosting the oscars and use that to be a better person.
Try LGBT people know how to forgive, live, love, learn from their mistakes and move on. Most loving people I know. I highly doubt this is even coming from them. A bunch of haters doing this on behalf of LGBT which doesn't make any sense since they are all about love a unity.

He claimed to have apologized years ago when he didn’t, then he refused to apologize for days, finally decided to "apologize" (a total non-apology fyi) and now he’s trying to make himself the victim. It’s not cute. He acted like everyone was taking immature humor out of the context as him growing up and doing better. Now he’s basically throwing a tantrum that he’s not getting a pass. And let's not forget about how he cheated on his first wife with a younger woman and basically excused it as "we were young and we both deserved better, I would never cheat on my beautiful, loving wife today" as he was cheating on her with another younger woman. I don't believe a word he says.

But he was going to host, if you watch here you will hear Kevin saying that the only reason he stepped down was because the Oscars people told him to make an apology again.
I’m just confused I thought the reason we have pride and have LGBT representation on tv and movies was to help spread change and acceptance of the LGBT community. I thought the goal was someone like Kevin Hart who made ignorant comments and had ignorant beliefs but now ten years later has changed and is a more opened minded person. Sometimes we are so focused on being hurt and angry we are blinded by the progress society has made in the last 10 years.
He has the freedom of using derogatory words towards LGBT community. Not a problem.
Other people also have the freedom of NOT supporting him.
kevin can make dad jokes if he wants to be politically correct

To know that there's people who spend all their time scrolling back 10 years of tweets just to try and get attention brought to themselves by bringing up those meaninglessness tweets again is just completely sad. And the fact that so many acknowledged it when these people do that is just so wrong. Honestly people like that should be fined for harrassment because thats what it is.

They are narcissistic egomaniacs. They are miserable inside.
Payne Hoss, I was wondering about that! Who the heck has that time??
His jokes that were funny ten years ago are still funny today. What has changed is that people, today, mistake humor for aggression.
