MacDonald has always proclaimed his innocence of the murders, which he claims were committed by four intruders-three male and one female-who had entered the unlocked rear door of his apartment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina[3] and attacked him, his wife, and his children with instruments such as knives, clubs, and ice picks. Prosecutors and appellate courts have pointed to strong physical evidence attesting to his guilt. He is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland.
The MacDonald murder case remains one of the most litigated murder cases in American criminal history.

"Fatal Vision," is a long book, but it's well worth reading. Collette's father was relentless in seeking the truth. He suspected his son-in-law, and he never quit seeking justice for his daughter and granddaughters. He deserves a lot of credit holding the killer, his son-in-law, accountable.

I am a true crime fan and the MacDonald Family Murders is one of the most compelling cases I've read and researched. But out of the dozens of videos/podcasts/movies/docuseries, news articles, magazine articles, books, you name it that I've devoured, this commentary truly gave me an insight into Jeffrey MacDonald the man. In Joe McGuinness' book (either Fatal Vision or the more recent Final Vision), an incident is referenced about Jeff threatening the son of a woman he was dating. The kid (an adult by the time he discussed it) said he was terrorized to that day. Jeff threatened once to take him by the feet and throw him into the water and another time threatened to beat his skull into the rocks. Mom, naturally, had enough and broke off her relationship with Jeff. It seems that you saw this side of Jeffrey MacDonald yourself. Fascinating information! Thank you for this video. It is truly the icing on the cake of all the other things I've read/watched!

If you want the truth, read 'A Wilderness Of Error'. That way, all the "His eyes took on the look of a monster" and "He changed in an instant" and all that, will give way to the truth of the matter which is this: of the murders, he is innocent. He cheated on his wife, yes, many times. He was narcissistic. He probably had a dozen other faults we could get into. But that is, as they say, smoke and mirrors. Helena and her gang are the ones responsible for these murders and only the abuse of hallucinogens could cause such anti-human carnage.

The things that I don't get are
    1. Why was there no evidence of anyone else in the house that night? I mean footprints, fingerprints, hair, DNA? There was so much blood there's no way in hell it wouldn't have been tracked all over the place, including the outside
    2. Why did Jeffrey never show any interest in finding the real killer? Hire a PI. Get your lawyer to help you investigate other avenues. Get the FBI involved. He did nothing. Even in interviews he never even asked for help in finding the supposed killer. It was a pity party for him.
    3. Jeffrey had no serious injuries, despite claiming he fought with the intruders. Why not kill him too?
I think Jeffrey wanted out of his marriage and away from his family. No child support, no nothing. He was screwing around on his wife and wanted sons instead of daughters. Now I know Collette was pregnant again, with a son, but if he wasn't planning on staying with her that would just increase the child support she'd get.

    • @chocolatetownforever7537
      @chocolatetownforever7537 11 месяцев назад +6

I dont know about the wanting a son part, having anything to do with the crimes, but you are SO correct about everything you said. There wasnt any melee in that living room. There isnt ONE hair, follicle, blood droplet, ANYTHING, from any stranger at that crime scene, especially not one from Helena Stoeckley, nor any of her cohorts that Jeff has pointed the finger at for all these years.
No blood tracks in or out of the house, by any stranger, and ALL of the weapons, used that night, were proven to be from that house.
This case, without DNA, was as much of a slam dunk as you can get in terms of guilt. It took a few years, but they got the right guy, and it makes me happy to know hes spent so many years in prison, and will even more, until the end of his life.

Jeff was on his way to BIG money as a Dr., and child support wouldnt have been an issue for him. Keep in mind 1970 child support was alsoMUCH more friendly in terms of the fathers paycheck than it is today.

I read 'Fatal Vision' and saw the movie of the same title. There's a scene in the movie and the book when the prosecution explains to Jeff's FIL, Freddie Kasab, exactly what happened based on the physical evidence. I'm convinced he did it. It was terrifying to read it and to watch in the movie. The prosecutor actually says to Mr. Kasab "You might not be able to handle what we now know. Are you sure you want the details?" Kasab says "I've thought about it for yrs now and I HAVE TO KNOW. I HAVE TO KNOW." And so on a chalkboard he laid out some facts and Kasab listened. It was heartbreaking 💔. I'm definitely convinced he did it. Karl Maldon played Freddy Kasab and his wife was played by Eva Marie Saint. Gary Cole played Jeffrey McDonald.

One thing people arent considering is the possibility that Dr. McDonald could very well have Aspbergers Syndrome. He fits many of the Syndromes traits like being highly intelligent and social awkwardness. People with Aspbergers Syndrome DO NOT react to events in their lives like most people would. But look how childish and dramatic most Americans respond- not just with pandemic response but just in how we deal and treat each other. Look how we deal with political differences, race, gender. We cant even have proper discussions about our differences. The average American act like children and so as a group we have to be treated as children. Michael,
RE OJ Simpson. My mother-in-law was a good friend with a quite elderly woman who knew OJ's mother well from church. The general consensus from those people around Simpson during his formative years was not flattering toward the former NFL star.
Even his mother had said things like,
''That boy is either going to be a famous professional football player or end up in prison for the rest of his life''.
The point is that those who grew up around OJ in San Francisco had long observed his violent behavior. They knew him to be most capable of perpetrating despicable acts. And in fact, he had always gotten a free pass from the authorities due to his athletic prowess. And that his behavior showed that he actually felt that he was above the law.
Beyond that? I agree that people can snap. In fact, almost any of us can become quite upset even for the most trivial of matters. It is something that I try and watch out for myself.

I actually studied this case in forensics. He absolutely is guilty. ALL the physical evidence firmly cements the fact that he’s guilty. His stories changed multiple times and contradicted the forensic evidence, physical evidence ties him specifically to the crime and entirely destroys his “hippies did it” defense, and he exhibits many personal and psychological characteristics of a psychopath (at the very least he shows obvious signs of psychopathic tendencies). It is WELL KNOWN and pretty much standard curriculum that Jeffrey McDonald obviously killed his family. My physical anthropology teacher (who is a seasoned investigator, FBI agent, forensic specialist, etc.) described this man as “the white OJ” in that he’s obviously guilty but was able to manipulate real social factors into an argument for innocence. He did it 100% there is not a single doubt in mind that he slaughtered his family.

Fascinating but sad. Human emotions can become inexplainable sometimes. However in OJ’s case he did attack another student with a knife when he was in college and it was suppressed because of his athletic status. This often happens with celebrities and up-and-coming sports figures. OJ’s potential for violence was always there. Often times narcissistic psychopaths are very good at disguising their behavior until they are pushed by someone (even by a loved one) that disagrees with them or they want to get out of the marriage. I think your assessment of this man’s nature was spot on Michael. I know it’s not like you to pass judgment and pronounce his guilt but you saw what you saw and you know what you saw.
