- 👉👉Check out the store: store.michaelfranzese.com/ Jeffrey Robert MacDonald (born October 12, 1943) is a former American medical doctor and United States Army captain who was convicted in August 1979 of murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters in February 1970 while serving as an Army Special Forces physician.
MacDonald has always proclaimed his innocence of the murders, which he claims were committed by four intruders-three male and one female-who had entered the unlocked rear door of his apartment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina[3] and attacked him, his wife, and his children with instruments such as knives, clubs, and ice picks. Prosecutors and appellate courts have pointed to strong physical evidence attesting to his guilt. He is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland.
The MacDonald murder case remains one of the most litigated murder cases in American criminal history.

I love your style of being brutally honest without being cruel. Thank you for your insight into this particularly sad story.
I hope you will look up other of my writing. My writing is all over the Internet.
"Fatal Vision," is a long book, but it's well worth reading. Collette's father was relentless in seeking the truth. He suspected his son-in-law, and he never quit seeking justice for his daughter and granddaughters. He deserves a lot of credit holding the killer, his son-in-law, accountable.
What a beautiful lady you are! And you are SO right. The book has so many details that help prove MacDonalds guilt, than the mini series ever could. I urge anyone whos really into this case, to actually read the book. Youll learn so much more.
She wasn't his real daughter?
I think it's important to remember that he supported his son-in-law for a long time until his story began to change
@@natalieaguirre8576 True.
Freddy was step dad but Collette loved him like her dad.
I've been convinced of Jeff's guilt since I read the book and saw the tv movie Fatal Vision in the 80's. May Colette, Kimberley, Kristen and baby boy rest in peace.

As well as Freddy and Mildred Kassab. 🙏😪
I agree, nothing his supporters say changes the basic facts of the case.
He’s a classic psychopath
I’m convinced he’s guilty, I’ve always thought this from the time I learned of this case. The facts are that He snapped , I don’t think he set out to do what he did that night , but to me , the facts of this case speak for themselves.
He’s a malignant narcissist and he is where he should be.
How can a man who kills children be up for parole?! What is wrong with our justice system?
Youre very correct, but in fairness, how can anybody whos killed three people, be up for parole?
Thats bad enough, let alone what you said so eloquently.
He will never get out
They let rae carruth out of jail and a Manson girl.. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Exactly
He had the strictest sentence possibly -- 3 life sentences to be served consecutively rather than concurrently. He did NOT get life with no possibility of parole. Thus, he has a right to go before a parole board.
I am a true crime fan and the MacDonald Family Murders is one of the most compelling cases I've read and researched. But out of the dozens of videos/podcasts/movies/docuseries, news articles, magazine articles, books, you name it that I've devoured, this commentary truly gave me an insight into Jeffrey MacDonald the man. In Joe McGuinness' book (either Fatal Vision or the more recent Final Vision), an incident is referenced about Jeff threatening the son of a woman he was dating. The kid (an adult by the time he discussed it) said he was terrorized to that day. Jeff threatened once to take him by the feet and throw him into the water and another time threatened to beat his skull into the rocks. Mom, naturally, had enough and broke off her relationship with Jeff. It seems that you saw this side of Jeffrey MacDonald yourself. Fascinating information! Thank you for this video. It is truly the icing on the cake of all the other things I've read/watched!
MacDonald murdered his family.
If you want the truth, read 'A Wilderness Of Error'. That way, all the "His eyes took on the look of a monster" and "He changed in an instant" and all that, will give way to the truth of the matter which is this: of the murders, he is innocent. He cheated on his wife, yes, many times. He was narcissistic. He probably had a dozen other faults we could get into. But that is, as they say, smoke and mirrors. Helena and her gang are the ones responsible for these murders and only the abuse of hallucinogens could cause such anti-human carnage.
Jeffrey MacDonald is truly evil. And true evil will always come out, one way or the other. He has a special spot in hell waiting for him. 🔥
lt is absurd to believe strangers will brutally murder a woman and two children but not totally disable the man on couch first. 🤦♀️
You are a strong fearless man. I appreciate your opening words. I pray for you and your family. America and the world needs leaders like you desperately.
@@ump1nen But we need to. Decent people need to run for offices and attempt to put politics back in order if that is even possible at this point.
Mike, honest feedback is the best! Mike your honesty in everything you do is the best!
You're so right about that, I struggle to fathom how he manages it but he is a peerless inspiration..
Good stuff Michael!!
@David S Cameron: So true, his peerless inspiration is managed by grace…
The really unfortunate aspect of the whole vaccine/mask thing is how effectively elected leaders have used the issue to divide the populace.
It's made even easier by the lack of will of the US citizens to compare what US media is telling you, with what the rest of the world's media is telling them.
If you don't trust the information someone is giving you, then look for information elsewhere. Don't keep going back to a source you don't trust.

"You asked for the truth, you got it!" - Michael Franzese
What lol of course
Ofc Michael didn't give a fuck 😂
That probably infuriated Jeff
Anyone that can kill a child, needs to never see light again....
The things that I don't get are
1. Why was there no evidence of anyone else in the house that night? I mean footprints, fingerprints, hair, DNA? There was so much blood there's no way in hell it wouldn't have been tracked all over the place, including the outside
2. Why did Jeffrey never show any interest in finding the real killer? Hire a PI. Get your lawyer to help you investigate other avenues. Get the FBI involved. He did nothing. Even in interviews he never even asked for help in finding the supposed killer. It was a pity party for him.
3. Jeffrey had no serious injuries, despite claiming he fought with the intruders. Why not kill him too?
I think Jeffrey wanted out of his marriage and away from his family. No child support, no nothing. He was screwing around on his wife and wanted sons instead of daughters. Now I know Collette was pregnant again, with a son, but if he wasn't planning on staying with her that would just increase the child support she'd get.
I dont know about the wanting a son part, having anything to do with the crimes, but you are SO correct about everything you said. There wasnt any melee in that living room. There isnt ONE hair, follicle, blood droplet, ANYTHING, from any stranger at that crime scene, especially not one from Helena Stoeckley, nor any of her cohorts that Jeff has pointed the finger at for all these years.
No blood tracks in or out of the house, by any stranger, and ALL of the weapons, used that night, were proven to be from that house.
This case, without DNA, was as much of a slam dunk as you can get in terms of guilt. It took a few years, but they got the right guy, and it makes me happy to know hes spent so many years in prison, and will even more, until the end of his life.
That makes no sense. Wanted sons but killed the one he had. N lots of guys cheat. Doesn't mean he wanted out. He was just selfish n crazy
@virginia3926 He told the woman he got involved with after Colette that he wanted 3 kids, all boys. As if women have control over their children's genders. We don't.
If he wanted out of his marriage that would mean spousal support and child support for 3 kids. Plus the three he wanted to have with this other woman. You have any idea how expensive raising 6 children would be?
@@chocolatetownforever7537He told the woman he was seeing after Colette that he wanted 3 more kids, all boys. He hated the fact that he had daughters and would be on the hook for child support of 3 kids if he and Colette divorced
@@LilyRose8959 Where did you read or hear this? Ive studied this case for so long, and have seen so much evidence and back story. Ive never heard about child support being a motive lol. Jeff was on his way to BIG money as a Dr., and child support wouldnt have been an issue for him. Keep in mind 1970 child support was alsoMUCH more friendly in terms of the fathers paycheck than it is today.
I dont think he planned the murders that night. Whether he wanted to be with Colette forever is a different story, but he wasnt going to kill his family to get out of child support lol.
Thats silly.

I read 'Fatal Vision' and saw the movie of the same title. There's a scene in the movie and the book when the prosecution explains to Jeff's FIL, Freddie Kasab, exactly what happened based on the physical evidence. I'm convinced he did it. It was terrifying to read it and to watch in the movie. The prosecutor actually says to Mr. Kasab "You might not be able to handle what we now know. Are you sure you want the details?" Kasab says "I've thought about it for yrs now and I HAVE TO KNOW. I HAVE TO KNOW." And so on a chalkboard he laid out some facts and Kasab listened. It was heartbreaking 💔. I'm definitely convinced he did it. Karl Maldon played Freddy Kasab and his wife was played by Eva Marie Saint. Gary Cole played Jeffrey McDonald.
That scene was heartbreaking, Mr. Kassab was a true hero and Karl Malden did a beautiful job of playing him.
Your spelling sucks through and through. It is the perfect parallel to the way the 'facts' of the case were presented and twisted.
I have followed this case for years and it is fascinating and tragic. I am convinced that he is guilty.... but always had some small doubts. After your interaction with him..... I am 100% convinced of his guilt.
God bless you Michael, you are the great example of no matter how adverse any situation is in your life, you can always overcome it with when God has your back
I follow Michael because of all his stories of his life in and outside the mafia, but I have to say this is one of the most interesting videos yet that he has put out, I suddenly remembered I watched this film many years ago, this was a great video.
I have read and heard that stabbings USUALLY are a more personal method of murder, especially with a large number of stab wounds to the victim.
MacDonald, was a narcissist assh**le .To kill a Pregnant woman and his two kids .Pretty F**k up!!
A hit like that from strangers would involve the parents and not the children. And if they were going after Jeffrey, he would've ended up looking more like Collette did.
Rage... something snapped and it was personal.... both OJ and Jeffrey McDonald
@@katemaloney4296Amen. You dont leave a guy with a few bumps and that teeny lil incision he had in his chest, when you BUTCHERED a woman, and two little girls.
And the incision on his chest? It wasnt made by an icepick, or the knife that was used in his wife and Kimberlys murder. It was made by a scalpel, which oddly enough, was NOT used in any of the other three attacks.
Seems strange to me.....
@@richardflorence3927 - You spelled OJ right. Your MacDonald needs work.
I did an english paper on Fatal Vision in high school in 1987...... I came away with a guilty impression I recall in my paper...I also recall being thoroughly invested in the book with interest and intrigue.. He was a brilliant mind and a ego maniacal narcissistic personality. I never for a moment believed he was innocent throughout reading the book and I tried to be an advocate for his side..... It never worked for me despite my effort. His explanations were all like circles stuffing into squares.... ZERO believability. His hubris and ego convicted him.
He is not 'brilliant' just arrogant
This happened before I was born so I had not heard of it until now. Did some research, mostly watched videos of him back in the 70's. No doubt about it, he's GUILTY. His actions during interviews (body language, words, laughter and eye movements) sealed his fate. "Three people are dead" was the nail in the coffin. He never referred to his wife or daughters as anything to him except "3 people". Not once did he mention his unborn child. Narcissistic sociopath!
One thing people arent considering is the possibility that Dr. McDonald could very well have Aspbergers Syndrome. He fits many of the Syndromes traits like being highly intelligent and social awkwardness. People with Aspbergers Syndrome DO NOT react to events in their lives like most people would. They are highly intelligent but lack common sense...... they tend to show inappropriate behavior that can make them appear non-sympathetic and have a lack of empathy. They struggle with interpersonal relationships and can appear cold.
He doesn't mention that unborn because that is just too painful for him. Dads love their children, both boys and girls, but usually have a special link with a boy child. He looked forward to Little League and that sort of thing with his son -- but his son was never born. Yes, he is guilty. But this loss is especially lacerating because the unborn was male.
@@denisenoe3702 He took his unborn child's life. How is it too hard for him to mention him when he didn't want the child here to begin with?
@@ladiuneeq9789 Mac is guilty but this crime was a spur-of-the-moment crime of passion (Colette, Kim) + a premeditated murder (Kristy) to cover up those crimes. When he killed Colette, it meant she couldn't give birth. He DID was the child because he already had 2 daughters so he wanted a son. He looked forward to doing Dad-son things together but made them impossible in a fit of rage. It is too painful to talk about the loss of the father--son relationship. Even though he caused, he feels cheated of it. That boy could have been Jeff MacDonald Jr. That's why he chokes on the mention.
@@denisenoe3702 Spur of the moment? I think not! It was premeditated. He didn't mention the son cause he killed him and couldn't care less about him.
Mike your observations of MacDonald are spot on. I was in the 8th grade when it happened. When ever you saw him on t.v. He never choked with emotion or became teary eyed when he spoke about his family. It did not make sense a group of hippies get into a house committ brutal murder and then are never scene by anyone.
An officer that night saw the woman Helena Stokley standing in the rain in a floppy hat on the base. Don’t get me wrong I think Jeffry McDonald has to be guilty but it was said these druggies hated the Dr. Because he wouldn’t give them drugs at the ER. That’s the only reason I ever thought he could be innocent but seeing him on Dick Cavett joking about he and his wife watching a certain night time show before the murders. No joking matter.
I remember it well. We were a military family stationed nearby and the case impacted us; we had such trust in our military officers.
MacDonald was a Green Beret. The Movie Fatal Vision was excellent. Gary Cole was the star and Karl Malden was his father in law. One scene I remember was Malden in the murder house. There are greeting cards on the television still standing. Malden banged his feet and the cards fell down refuting that an attack on MacDonald had taken place.
yeah I remember he said "some fight"
It was a movie not a historical reenactment. A lot of other information came out later supporting his story.
@@jamesmalcolm6976 Nothing refuted how neat the living room was, besides a coffee table turned on its side that when turned over, NEVER stayed on its side.
There are pics of the crime scene that show those greeting cards, as well as an upright lamp that was a foot away from where Jeff said he was fighting three men. There also was ONE THREAD of the torn and stabbed pajama top in the living room, where MacDonald was supposedly beaten and stabbed with an ice pick over twenty times. ONE. Yet in the master bedroom, where his pajama top WASNT there when his wife and daughter were murdered by "hippies", there were HUNDREDS of fibers from the pajama top, including directly underneath where the word "pig" was written in MacDonalds wifes blood.
Hello? Thats irrefutable evidence, and its only a few reasons why the jury found him guilty in six hours. Wake up dude.
@@jamesmalcolm6976 No, nothing has ever come out that refutes the evidence that convicted him, no. The book and the movie stick very close to the facts, even down to the dialogue being often word for word from legal transcripts. NOTHING has come out that supports his ludicrous story
I remember that, too.
I vividly remember when the murder of MacDonald's wife and two daughters occurred and the subsequent trials and appeals, etc. I've read Final Vision and anyone who has read that book will probably agree the evidence against MacDonald is overwhelming. In my personal opinion the guy committed the murders and is nothing more than an animal. It's hard to imagine how terrified his wife and two young girls were as the man responsible for defending and protecting them brutally murdered them. Absolutely sickening. Very interesting episode Michael. Good job.
Please don’t insult the animals!
Then reading 'A Wilderness Of Error' will be a real eye opener!

Idk. I disagree. Yes that would work with a group of mature adults. But look how childish and dramatic most Americans respond- not just with pandemic response but just in how we deal and treat each other. Look how we deal with political differences, race, gender. We cant even have proper discussions about our differences. The average American act like children and so as a group we have to be treated as children. Michael,
RE OJ Simpson. My mother-in-law was a good friend with a quite elderly woman who knew OJ's mother well from church. The general consensus from those people around Simpson during his formative years was not flattering toward the former NFL star.
Even his mother had said things like,
''That boy is either going to be a famous professional football player or end up in prison for the rest of his life''.
The point is that those who grew up around OJ in San Francisco had long observed his violent behavior. They knew him to be most capable of perpetrating despicable acts. And in fact, he had always gotten a free pass from the authorities due to his athletic prowess. And that his behavior showed that he actually felt that he was above the law.
Beyond that? I agree that people can snap. In fact, almost any of us can become quite upset even for the most trivial of matters. It is something that I try and watch out for myself.
This is my FAVORITE channel now. Great job you're doing Michael. Keep it rollin' brother !

Love hearing about Sonny Franzese. Lot life lessons your pop taught you. That kind of education goes long ways. Stay safe my friend. God bless
I actually studied this case in forensics. He absolutely is guilty. ALL the physical evidence firmly cements the fact that he’s guilty. His stories changed multiple times and contradicted the forensic evidence, physical evidence ties him specifically to the crime and entirely destroys his “hippies did it” defense, and he exhibits many personal and psychological characteristics of a psychopath (at the very least he shows obvious signs of psychopathic tendencies). It is WELL KNOWN and pretty much standard curriculum that Jeffrey McDonald obviously killed his family. My physical anthropology teacher (who is a seasoned investigator, FBI agent, forensic specialist, etc.) described this man as “the white OJ” in that he’s obviously guilty but was able to manipulate real social factors into an argument for innocence. He did it 100% there is not a single doubt in mind that he slaughtered his family.
Just like Michael said he has been around the man a lot and knows him and won't say for a fact he did it, you shouldn't either just cause you studied some evidence years later doesn't mean you know for a fact either. I have heard arguments on both sides that sound reasonable and could be it.
@@MkShantrul nah dude literally ALL of the forensic evidence shows that he did it. I can’t say for a fact that OJ did it either but any rational person who looks at the forensics and the behavior of the guy can see that he obviously did it lol

@@gypsygirl9 Because the psychopath has to win. Michael, I can see it in your expressions, you know he's guilty as hell. He knew exactly what he did he just couldn't leave it alone. He wants everybody to believe he's innocent. He's the type of person if he's in charge of 100 people and everyone agrees with him that's fine but if one person doesn't, he will do whatever it takes to convince that one person he's right. Fascinating but sad. Human emotions can become inexplainable sometimes. However in OJ’s case he did attack another student with a knife when he was in college and it was suppressed because of his athletic status. This often happens with celebrities and up-and-coming sports figures. OJ’s potential for violence was always there. Often times narcissistic psychopaths are very good at disguising their behavior until they are pushed by someone (even by a loved one) that disagrees with them or they want to get out of the marriage. I think your assessment of this man’s nature was spot on Michael. I know it’s not like you to pass judgment and pronounce his guilt but you saw what you saw and you know what you saw.
Awesome story! Thank you for telling it! Kim and Kristen.
I've posted before you do a great job putting it up for us. Thank You.
Best video in a while Mike! Great stuff!
@@michaelfranzese I understand you’re known for the LCN connection, but you’ve got a way of telling stories and discussing Non-LCN content that’s entertaining. I can see you having a radio or talk show. Hope you get the opportunity to interview people on all types of issues. It’s a real talent.
Great work as always michael 👏 👍 👌
Mike always brings the heat!
So crazy you knew this Macdonald man and OJ! So strange. Narcissism is an interesting disorder to me. Also you were at the restaurant after the recital! Famous part of the OJ story.
I remember watching the TV movie, Fatal Vision, and at first I did have mixed feelings about Jeffrey Macdonald, but then I seen something about him on the News, it was a Clip of Macdonald in some Talk show, and as you watch him recount what happened, he seems to have an expression on his face, that said he enjoyed the attention. All I know is if my wife and children were Brudally murdered like that, the last thing on my face would be any hint of a smile for a Long time. And I'm saying this because, at the end of the movie I really believed he was Inocent.
It's only my opinion, but I believe he Killed them. 👍
Incredible insite on human nature from somebody who witnessed darkness close up. Would like to hear more behavioural and political commentary especially after your book comes out!
Fascinating story, Michael.
I've recently subbed to your channel. Love your content. Superb speaker you are.
All the best brother from Scarborough, England.
:)
Fantastic. Thank you Michael.
I feel the sincerity at the beginning ✊🏽
OK so he gets angry when provoked. But what provoked him to murder his family? Another Sam Sheppard case?
Could have been as simple as "I've had enough of your abuse, I want a divorce and the kids want to live with me".
A big hit to any man's pride back in a time when it was still very much a "man's world", couple that with anger issues = There you go.
This was very interesting. Thanks for sharing this story.
Big fan Michael. Much respect. Please keep making videos. Love them
Classic case of a narcissistic sociopath. The sociopath is incapable of feeling empathy/remorse. Thus the questionable behavior after the crime. OJ is another classic example. Tragic.
I remember reading that nothing in the house was disturbed
Cards on the mantle not one fell
The whole house was undisturbed
more interestingthan police bullshit.look into drug smuggling aspects and spying on da and defense attornys and pipline of herion inside base.
I’d be in the psych ward if I ever endured such an experience.
