Hi Mike... that's very good intel when buying tires for those little beauties ✌👏👏👏 Thanks for the excellent work... dedication and time put into this 💯🦾
Mike B: I’m sorry I haven’t responded sooner, but I haven’t had a chance to get back to the shop and physically measure the size of each tire. I will let you know when I get that done. Mike O: I’ve not personally tried to fit that size tire, but I’ve read on FB pages that it is possible to fit them to these bikes.
I just bought an icebear and I've never worked on a motorcycle before. I bought two of those Kenda 120/90/10 tires. They're tubeless but you're saying that I need tubes? Do the stock wheels have tubes I can use? Im confused. Lol Thanks
Yes, you will need tubes. The rims on these bikes are two halves that bolt together. They won’t hold air without a tube. I believe the stock tubes will be too small, you’ll need 4.00-10 or 4.5-10 tubes.
Hello Mike, I have a speedo question I hope you can answer for me. I have a CT-70 with the Zongshen 190 conversion and the speedo seized up. No I didn’t do a 90 mph blast on it! Do you know if the speed calibration is determined by the gear drive at the wheel? If so, I would think I could use the speedo from a larger 70’s Honda m/c and get a factory looking mechanical speedo with an 80 mph face on it. Make sense?
Looks like yours has the Loncin engine like mine instead of the Lifan that some of the Champions come with. If you ever come up with a big bore kit that fits it, let me know please! I’m subscribed, so if you do go that direction with the bike, I’ll likely see it anyway.
I’m pretty happy with the build quality. If you’re OK with 45mph max riding, it’s great right out of the crate. I wanted to push a tad past 50mph, so a carb, exhaust and wheel upgrade was needed. For $1500, it’s a really good bike.
Great vid !!! I am contemplating a 1970 CT 70 or the Ice Bear , I can't decide !!!! LOL Can you elaborate on how to do the orig CT 70 wheels/tires onto the new Ice Bear ? The orig CT rims bolt directly onto the new hubs ??? For street riding , does it go without saying the new modern 125 / disc brakes / etc make better sense ? Thanks Mike !!
Will a MAXXIS 130/70-12 IN.TIRE FIT THE REAR I'VE ALREADY HAVE THE 12-INCH ALUMINUM RIMS THAT I PURCHASED FROM BART MOTOR COMPANY OUT OF ORANGE COUNTY CALIFORNIA. VERY NICE ONE PIECE ALUMINUM RIMS. Interesting to see the differences in tire size. Great video Mike!
Hello Mike awesome videos do you think that bike can handle 130-90-10 tires?

Love the thumbnail!! 👍🏽🤘🏽
Hahaha. Yeah, I thought I’d try something different and see how it affects my video views. You’re the first to say anything. 👍🏻
Interesting. Thanks for sharing brother.
You are correct Mike, that oil in it is just to keep the internals from rusting. It needs to be changed actually before driving it lol
I tested it once and put 1000 miles on a new Lifan before I changed the oil. That engine still runs great and now has over 6000 miles on it.
That's good to know. I've always been told to change it before riding.
@@harleyman19692 I’m horrible at listen to advice from others….I like to find things out on my own. It bites me in the ass sometimes. 🤣🤣🤣
True that🤣🤣
A 10mph gain from a carb, exhaust and tires is really good.
That is a epic picture of you on the worlds fastest ct70😊
😁
MIKE just for fun put a big bore kit in it like a 142 cc or 150 cc don,t know if it would handle it have a great day enjoy your videos preston
You hit 56 mph w 4.00-10 tire upgrade, larger carb, and removing the catalytic converter (my journey begins).

Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to this. I’ve never built a bike that needed more than the stock speedo. 🤣
@@MiniBikeMike ok, Thanks Mike. Enjoy your vids, think I’ll give it a try.

🤣
Great video thx.
Hey I've heard that the engine is a lifan... Is that true? Do you know?
It’s a Loncin engine, which is basically the same as a Lifan. Very good engines.
Very interesting video. I have the stock tires on my 1970 CT70. I also have a 140cc motor. I wonder how that would work for me.
Depending on the sprocket sizes you’re running, I would say the 140 will pull the 120/90 -10’s a lot better than this 125 did.
@@MiniBikeMike Thanks Mike, it is an interesting thought. I am running 17/32 sprockets with my YX140.
How is the quality of the bike? I'm thinking about getting one in the next couple days

Did you notice a big improvement on suspension and handling with potholes?
Not really, but I was on a freshly paved road.

I like the knobby tires on a trail bike, sir
Agreed. But, this bike will probably never see the trail, so I thought street tires might be better. I was wrong.

How did it compare with the speedometer on the bike
The stock speedo is useless. The odometer seems to be accurate in Km, but the speedo is completely inaccurate.
