So when they use the term Malay/Muslim students, it's referring to Muslim students as a whole (Malay and non-Malay Muslim) not just referring to Malay students with Islamic faith. Prof Jackie Ying I dont think she believes in religion of any sort if she ever studies about them at all. I dont think she even has the time to even learn the basics of the religion that she adopted, being a great scientist that she is, and seeing the immense concentration that she has to focus on her researches. But she has taken a very smart move indeed by taking up a muslimah outlook as this will surely attract attentions to her by the whole world due to her brilliance and, not to mention, from the islamic world due to her leanings. As we can already see she has won an Islamic accolade from Iran in the form of the Mustafa Award, not to mention may be some generous grants to finance her projects and studies from rich muslim nations such as the Saudis, etc. What a coup she is for their propagand machines!
