His shooting elbow is slightly double jointed (it flexes inward). I think that allows him to keep a straighter overall body line, allowing him to have more consistent form.
Hey if there's any basketball players out there, I made a video on my channel on a simple tip that'll fix your shot in basketball, if you're interested, check it out and tell me what you think!
every good shooter uses the dip motion where they very very quickly put their hand on top of ball and dip into shot pocket. when you have your hand and elbow awkwardly cocked back , it can throw tension in your shot and you will lose power
I know that you probably won’t see this cause your comment is 4 years old, but what he does is he locks his hips, his knees, and his ankles at the same time when he jumps.
ShotMechanics RUclips channel has a series of videos on SC30 shooting form and there are many keys to consider at the same time, like the tilted feet, the elbow in, both hands on the sides of the ball when picking up, the dip and the eye level set point
He uses his left thumb to add power to the shot. Man I was trying so hard to keep my right thumb (I'm lefthanded) from exerting force to my shots because I thought it's bad and I'm the only one doing it.. then I see one of the best shooters in the nba doing it. I believe kyrie does it too but I'm not sure.
Kirby Calitis That's not why Steph Curry has the range he does. It's because of his perfect one-motion shot and upward momentum. At their level it doesn't affect their range much at all. It's a habit from when they are younger. If you have a thumb flick you're going have to take 2x as many shots getting used to it and making it work.
I think its kinda bad to do that. i used to do it and it really fucked up my shot. It complicates your shot. ad adds east and west movement of the ball requiring more compensations. i think you should probably only do it if you are compensating for some other lack of power meaning you made some mistake on your form like lack of legs or dip or rythm. then you might want to add a thumb flick on that particular shot.
Dj SwagBo You don't.. If the thumb-flick is meant for you it will work itself into your shot normally. The best way to get power is to maximize your upward momentum. The thumb flick doesn't help Curry's range it's a left over from young basketball.
when he reaches his setpoint his hand is on the side of the ball and when he's about to release his hand like rotates or something or he uses his right thumb.... how does he do it? help?
His elbow is slanted outward when he brings the ball up, so he straightens his elbow, also straightening his hand while bringing the ball toward his forehead.
Weugly_squads That can help but there is SO much more to your shot. You will never be a great shooter by just positioning your hands correctly on the ball.
anybody notice finger patterns? i think its floppy release off index, middle and second last fingers but he ends with middle and second last finger pointed down as index and pinky are floppy
+zeokenX hey can you private message me. I need help on soa but chong xie aint replying me. I saw your comments it look likes you're insightful on the topic
Shofiqul Alom mainly because he's a palm shooter. The ball sits on his palm not on his fingers so he doesn't have to flex his fingers too much. He also uses his left thumb and some portion of his left palm to lift/push the ball up and align the ball just before release.
Power comes from the left thumb. Right hand provides rotation and aim. That's why he's able to shoot from so far back and make it look effortless. That left hand helps him with that. I think Kyrie does the same thing.
Dumbass his left hand thumb is the one that makes his shot straight the power that comes into his shot is from his legs since he has an early release timing.
When the ball is at his head and he's about to shoot it looks so weird. His hand shooting hand is on the side of the ball then when it's releasing it moves to the middle of the ball
It's funny and kind of ironic that Kobe Bryant is the main two motion shooter role model, rightly because the ball goes over and slightly behind his forehead prior to snap forward
Not trying to be rude but you sound a little incoherent saying that. You just need to isolate Curry's basketball greatness from the hatred that GSW might generate. And I say it being a fan of both SC30 and GSW
I like how you grouped the different angles together. Thanks!

His off hand is more of a thumb tuck. He puts it below on his palm
Its hard to copy her jump shot
Nope he got a thumb flick and his 4 finger cookie jar release
Great video. I was wondering if you could tell me how you obtained these highlights from such great angles and so HD?

Beat goes hard
Getting the ball over your head is hard when you've been shooting from your chest a lot.
I'm in the same situation right now.
+DatBeachBum just gotta keep practicing man . We'll get this💯
Or when your shot was above your head but now trying to get at forehead level is a pain

You must be 15, have you gotten your traits from him?
Snipppeeerrr 🎯
Well, tbh im not here to watch his two hands , im here too observe how he uses his two feet . Hehe
I know that you probably won’t see this cause your comment is 4 years old, but what he does is he locks his hips, his knees, and his ankles at the same time when he jumps.

Curry's thumbflick is not to add power to the shot its to guide the ball to the basket in a straight motion
@@chrissmi by adding east and west force on the basketball it will give it straight motion? huh? its obviously to add power imo
I think its kinda bad to do that. i used to do it and it really fucked up my shot. one thing i notice i do and he does is keep your guide hand on the ball almost through out the shot
Right until the last moment yes then he lets go
Right until the last moment yes then he lets go
how does he keep his wrist so floppy? Does he even flick it???
I know this is abt shooting form but I still wanna hear that splash lol
he keeps his guide hand paralyzed which means tht he let's it stay on the ball as his right hand is pushing forward, making his left hand floppy.
Dj SwagBo nope
zeokenX wym?
zeokenX true
zeokenX how do I do my left thumb like that tho?

How does he get the power he does launching it with 1 hand?
when he reaches his setpoint his hand is on the side of the ball and when he's about to release his hand like rotates or something or he uses his right thumb.... how does he do it? help?
tuck your thumb in... best to do it on the way up from your release, try and keep your guide hand on the ball as long as possible.
+Fakyou321 ik he tucks in his left thumb but his right thumb look like it moves or something
what do you mean he tucks it?
His elbow is slanted outward when he brings the ball up, so he straightens his elbow, also straightening his hand while bringing the ball toward his forehead.
it's mostly about where you position your hands on the ball
Weugly_squads no its not

He can do watever but hus release always come off middle finger last
does he thumb the ball a little? it looks like it
Yes he does
Jerry West had the best form tho
is he a Palm Shooter or Fingertips Shooter?

+ReteeN NC No Role Modelz - J. Cole ;)
To see thumb flick 5:25
Thumb flicks are a myth, it might look like a flick only becuz of the angle.
how come his hand is so floppylike its so relaxed
The more relaxed you are the better
Shofiqul Alom mainly because he's a palm shooter. The ball sits on his palm not on his fingers so he doesn't have to flex his fingers too much. He also uses his left thumb and some portion of his left palm to lift/push the ball up and align the ball just before release.

U think just a thumb would give him enough power to shoot it effortlesly from 30 ft?
7:03 rip klay...
I wonder if throwing the horns after he releases the ball means something to him... hmm.. ??

2nd one is drake- hotline bling
+Wavvy Boîī thank u
what beat tht is
0:16 useful
When the ball is at his head and he's about to shoot it looks so weird. His hand shooting hand is on the side of the ball then when it's releasing it moves to the middle of the ball
Last second adjustments to the position of the hoop
Precious Nwachokor yeah that's why his shot is so quick because he adjusts in the air
He brings it up side ways then rotates it last second
Reason why he twists his hips mid air and lands facing to his left
The doesn't change
im wondering how the ball doesnt even go over his head
His set point is right in front of his eyes.
He has a one motion shot
+DokiDoki Baller he doesnt have a set point
It's funny and kind of ironic that Kobe Bryant is the main two motion shooter role model, rightly because the ball goes over and slightly behind his forehead prior to snap forward
I hate curry so much but this thing is just so beautiful to watch

why is his release so floppy
+Katelyn Holland He snaps down with 2 fingers each time, but he stops his follow thru almost immediately and relaxes.
