For my money, nobody inhabits the lyrics of a song the way Irene does.This song is one of my favorites of all time, The lyrics are so wistful, and Irene's resonant voice brings out the sense of longing and loss. Johnny Mandel's extended phrases(a hallmark of his compositions) are exquisite, as is every about this song.

One of the finest singers I've heard. How about Kral Space? Pure Music. No tricks, no schtick, no ego, pure music. I love Irene Kral.
