This is an adorable little game. The Bugsnax are so fun and cute and all have interesting ways to catch them, and it's funny to see the Grumpus turn into food. The backgrounds are also amazing and there are cute side storylines. And the voices! They are. the. best.

That being said, I wish this was more like Slime Rancher - Cute little Bugsnax that you could raise and maybe even cross breed. The ending was extremely unsatisfying to me, I was expecting a cute wholesome game with mild tension, and the ending came out of nowhere. I kind of feel cheated out of what I signed up for. The end battle can also be difficult, and possibly some minigames or time trials before that could help with that aspect. This game has a lot of different topics it touches on, which is good, but the ending is so dark and I felt like it was a waste of time to do most of the quests and bond with the cute little MURDEROUS snax that I would eventually have to kill. I would prefer a game where I just chill on the island, collect bugs, and have a nice little life.

Don’t know if I’ll be able to get it. But I’ll watch a let’s play on RUclips. And I’ll keep my eyes on that strawberry plush.
I really have high hopes for this game and I hope it can meet maybe even exceed OctoDad
