Senior Soul how cool is this!! Any age is cool!!
This is one of those styles of music where you can just start “SHAGGING” in the aisles.
That goes to show you no matter your age .🎶❤️💯👀
Good Lord.....Just found this group of videos on RUclips. This is blue-eyed soul at its finest!!! What a fantastic band!!!! As a senior myself, I'm glad I WASN'T at this live event. I would have had such a good time and danced so much, I WOULDN'T have been able to get out bed the next day!!!! MORE MUSIC FROM THIS BAND......PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!
Beautiful Song ❤❤❤
This is the type of music where a man over 60 can look over at his sweetheart and say, "Honey! They're playing our song!" Something I doubt very much today's generation will be able to do, ever.
BayBay!!! They did the damn thing!! If I saw any of them on the street, you could never tell me they had so much SOUL!!! EDDIE WOULD LOVE IT!!!
This is FAR better than I expected!! This band is baaaaaaaaaaad!!!
Love that arrangement!! The horns are GREAT
Now that was nice and smooth❤
Awesome. Color or age doesn't mater. Fantastic performance.
What a great performance ! I wish I could have been there !
Growing up around live bands,,, this is my kind of music..wish I was there!
Yo are sooooo right!
WOW, these guys are good. Love the horn section. Two great songs well done.
For real!
Not bad for a bunch of old timers. In fact downright commendable! Great band and vocals!
Outstanding performance.

THEY WERE PERFECT!!!!
The lady in white steals the show
I'd like to have seen this LIVE !
Wow never heard yall before. Hopefully some are yall still together. Today is August 2021 and this group sounds good. You go boys
Doin Eddy Floyd and The Rascals proud!!
Unbelievable very impressive sound quality, vocal and musicians WELL DONE !!
As we said way back when "Cain't get no better, nohow."
Just want say this band has everything EXCELLENT SOUND
Love it! Wish I could have been there in person to sing and dance along.
Wish you could have been there, too, Kevin. Many of us had not been onstage together in 40+ years. The instrumental section backing up The Spontanes, The Flares & The Counts had only 2 practice sessions before the actual 2-night for charity event occurred. It was an incredible experience for all: both the performers, as well as the audience. We've lost around 9 of the performers since this was recorded.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond with all of this information. So sad to hear that nine of the performers have passed in such a short amount of time. It's a reminder to take nothing for granted and to enjoy the music while it still lives!@@BlueRidgeEd
My type of music that was fantastic, well done and thank you..
There's a genre in the UK called Northern Soul, and this is an absolute Northern Soul stomper.
They need to tour ! They’re great !

So Sweet!
Wow 🫠💋
🏆 Wonderful 😂❤
Played with Johnny Alexander in the “Entertainers” at Erskine College 1969. Peak experience! 😀
Miss him; he left us in 2017.
@@BlueRidgeEd John Alexander passed away?
Sadly yes, Van. Cancer took him in November 2017. FYI, I've got a few videos (maybe 3?) that Johnny took with his cell phone up at my YT channel. They should pop up after you click on "Videos." He had a couple local Charlotte jazz buddies playing with him on these; they're all around an hour of music -- suspect a #, if not all, are his arrangements. I believe I'm the only one, apart from Johnny, who posted these. He knew his condition was terminal at the time he made these.
thats a good lookin woman
Yeahhhh baby Eddie FLOYD has to appreciate this .
. So Fine..
All up in that Parks and Rec department!🤣
Wonder what they sounded like 20 years ago cause they are real strong now
They were strong back 50 years ago !!
Gray-haired, blue-eyed soul! Love it!!!
Well, we moved around on stage a bit more, Dave (grin). In the Carolinas bands such as this were referred to as "Show Bands" in the 60s & 70s. The horn section was often placed up front beside the singers.
Wonder if Jamed Bates still performs ? If so we're there !
So who did the original Groov'n, The Rascals or the Spontanes? Somebody stole the tune, because the Spontanes sound exactly like The Rascals.
Are these the same guy’s that did Harley Hog And the Rockers
Different "branches," but the same "tree," Tony.
Great Stuff! Real Soulful! Great musicianship, and musical hits covered. Very encouraging! Keep up the great work! From one musician to all of you, Keep ' em comin'! I'm Hooked! Check it Out! Ciao!!!
They look like lawyers, teachers and grandparents! 😂😂😂
Real music! ✨️
So sweet,
Um grDE CLASSICO NA MUSICA AMERICAB/NA , APENAS MAIW IWO, Ms com grDE FUNDO MUSICAL DE VOMO É É A GEANERE MUSUSICA AMERIRCANS...... VALEU GRANSR ABRAÇO.
We’re these the same folks that did the Harley Hog rock n roll show
Hey Tony...like Ed said, different branches but same tree... so many different players through the years, but to answer the question..YES, there are three of us on stage... Monk Ghantt, guitar, Mike Black, bass, and me Bruce Flynn, drums... but I can tell you, no matter the players, whatever year, THE SPONTANES was always a great group..have a great day...
Whoever the woman is ... she's still a fox.
Marti Wetzell
Awesome performance 👍👍
