NOTE: This device now has the Jelos operating system so maybe at a discounted rate this device could be a good buy, but at $70+ I still don’t think it’s worth it.
Also, people who buy this won’t be tinkerers. And I get messages from people who can’t add ROMs, let alone install JelOS!

Yea I wouldn’t pay $70, but on aliexpress it’s $40-$45 so I’m debating getting it at that price.

If you are familiar with Linux you can easily remove the Splash animation in usr/.config/emulationstation. In the storage partition you can change the theme.
Yeah, I gotta agree. Analog sticks on a vertical device are pretty uncomfortable to use.
The only reason why I don't mind the R36S having them is because it's like 35-40 dollars at this point, lol. And even then, I'd still prefer to get an OG 35xx for myself if the price was close between the two.

xu10 is made from factory where is made powkiddy. this have sticks, better for psp,n64, ...
there is no working wifi on OTG port. few days is out CFW Jelos for this device, all FW limits are gone now.
better to compare with R36s, powkiddy rgb20 and anbernic RG353v - in the end all this devices are clones of ...
myioo and 35xx are different device category. like comparing apples and pears.
I agree that it competes with those other devices but at this price point I just wanted to suggest that a little less power and a simpler form factor from a more well know manufacturer may be a better choice.
I also have to say, if you are looking for a device like this (vertical with good power and joysticks) you should just stretch the budget a little more for the RG405V, it is less portable but there are way less drawbacks and the custom firmware makes it a really amazing competitor.

"a little more"? is not super accurate. 405V is still like $120 USD without shipping whereas when I just checked the XU10 on aliexpress is going for $50 w/ free shipping so more than double the price.
It's hardly "a little more". It's twice the cost at the bare minimum. People looking for budget handhelds aren't going to pay $120+ for a console.
1. Don‘t concentrate on roms that come with a device.
2. This has a better chip than RGB20S and R36S.
3. The dpad is better than on those two.
4. This device is on sale for around 40€ atm.
5. This device comes with JELOS and makes it a sooo much better experience.
To conclude, your review was a complete miss unfortunately. Maybe you had it sitting for a few weeks and reality caught up on you.
Oh, and if you use a wifi stick…it works so much better than on any other device under 50€/£/$.
For me it is either this one or the miyoo mini + if you don‘t want to spend more than 40ish bucks.
Do I prefer a different decently cheap device? Yes, but they cost twice as much. (RGB30, 35XX H or Arc S/D)
So, if you are on a budget and PS1 is enough power for you, this is a good choice. Use JELOS and a wifi stick for scraping and have fun.
Even with Jelos I think a persons money is better spent elsewhere.
At the same price? Compare apples to apples and this might be the best device for less than 50$. I know taxes play a big role in different countries but in the US the price should be somewhere around 35$. I think you were taken aback with the horrible stock OS, the horrible and the extremely loud starting music (?). If you concentrate more on the stock roms than a huge upgrade with JelOS you didn‘t even try and rushed to a conclusion.
I am not going to defend this device as the best thing since sliced bread but you should compare it to the likes of mm+, rg35xx, r35s, r36s etc.and not some devices with superior chips that cost twice as much.
Chip is same in r36s. Best price for EU is 54usd (r36s is 44usd). Wifi is no big deal. OS updates are offline for stock OS, and for jelos are offline too. And scrape is faster offline from pc.

You can also get an R36s from that Chinese retailer for 35 USD at the moment. That thing, while higly 'derivative', has an RK3326 in it. Bang-for-your-buck-wise the best deal at the moment of writing.

@@adinwalls True, I remember buying the RG35XX when it was the top device and nowadays the options have expanded so much that it made it nearly obsolete :P
What are some of the options that you like that made the rg35xx obselete? I still have mine, but it's just been sitting on my office desk lol@@lolight2
I don’t know about that, that segment still only plays up to PS1. The RG35XX has a bit more power but the form factor lends itself to lower end systems anyway.

Heya Adin, thanks for making this video! I ended up seeing the Xu10 on aliexpress for $50 and I decided to buy it seeing as it was one of the cheaper prices for it and if I don't like it, at the very least it's another to go on my display case. I do think the lack of wifi is probably a let down, but it will have JelOS on it so I figured I would just try it out. I know you did a review for the 353v earlier this year, but it's also seen a bit of a price drop on Anbernic going ~$90/80 USD and I'm curious if you had to revisit it now months later among all of the new releases, if you think those still hold up?
The 353v is very nice still. Vertical handhelds still have a way to go in the market. I don’t think $90 is too bad for it too.
