He lost his mother. He lost his partner. He lost the Beatles. And he lost his wife. But still going on gloriously up to this day. How great is that? I LOVE you Paul and always will.
@@jerrileeplaylistjerome5245 Roy Orbison lost his wife in a car crash and his children in a fire. Paul is not the only person to exhibit great strength in the face of loss. In fact, it cheapens such resolve and strength to suggest that he is.
That was brilliant. He was in a good mood. But you can tell he's been through the mill recently in this, but he's getting through and putting the old "my brave face" on. He was very honest.
Excellent interview performance from Macca and also a reminder of what a tremendous presenter Johnny Vaughan was. As mentioned in the interview, The Big Breakfast (when it was hosted by Johnny and Lisa) was the only breakfast tv show worth watching. Great fun.
Just stumbled across this. What a great interview! They are both firing on all cylinders. Despite being in schtick mode it contains some good information and some fun quotables.
Men in Sheds is a UK mental health initiative for blokes. This interview supports the fact that men tend to talk more in sheds than in conventional therapy settings!
Loads of great info in this interview! Must have been tough speaking about Linda so soon after she died. I’m sure this topic would have been cleared with him pre-interview though
Great interview. Maybe one of the only ones where the interviewer treats Paul like he's (almost) just another guy, he's not intimidated or in awe of him. This, it seems to me, brings out the "regular guy" side of Paul. I think he enjoyed the quick witty back and forth, and he's VERY good at it. Someone in the comments here said you can tell he's been "through the mill" recently and I agree with that. His spirit seems a little weak, God love him. He and Linda were a real pair.
This is just after Linda died and he was still putting on the Beatle Paul act. Because it's an act, it's always been an act. Both he and Lennon (and George and Ringo too), had a more serious side to them and just played The Beatles that we all know and love.
Johnny may come across as disrespectful, but I think Paul quite liked his cockiness as he's used to people fawning over him and must be refreshing to be talked to like a lad. Apparently he asked Johnny for advice on his marriage years later!
"I'm a rough tough cream puff." This man is precious. Omg.
Right? I adore him ♥️

it's called getting on with life coz there is no other option
Through all his losses, he has exhibited a strength unmeasured. By literally no one else!! I love you endlessly, my Dear Paul!! ❤❤❤😘😘😘

James Paul McCartney died in car crash on September 11 1966 and was replaced by William (Billy). This is THE TRUTH no matter what.
Same here!! 👍❤

That is the best interview I’ve seen with Paul McCartney. Johnny Vaughan is a legend!!
That would be a great name for an album Paul. "I'm A Rough Tough Cream Puff"

The timing noted is wrong.
This interview is from late 1999, a good 18 months after the death of his wife.
That's right. In the early 60s "Paul" was played by a guy named John
....at 2:18 - it's ''SlurpPaul'' !
lol, very good.
18:18 Linda died in April of 1998 and he is says 18 months so it is probably 1999 not 1998
@@Me-ji2pn the host says this is filmed in 1998
@@Me-ji2pn it was a particularly long year
Everything was better in the 90s
It really was.
You are beautiful
Yea, just a bit. ❤️ you Paul. Don't take crap and always a charmer ~
"My Only Baby"... I think she meant "No Other Baby".
Linda only died in April of 1998 and he is says 18 months so it is probably 1999 not 1998
Me Run Devil Run was definitely 1999
Through the mill. Yeah, it's etched all over his face. Just 15 years after all those interviews in 1984 where he appeared so young still.
0:07 Oof no wonder it's called the Big Breakfast. I suddenly have a craving for milk.
Paul is tough as nails, if he has to be.
Working class northener
Amazing to think he was 82 here
Lol He was 57. He is not even 82 today yet.

Paul ❤😊
Billy. Paul died in 1966.
I wish he would quit interrupting Macca....so annoying!
Macca?? What izzy now? A Cheese Burger? Come On.
Macca has been his official nickname for decades. Sometimes The fab Macca. Its what the music press called him.
Johnny may come across as disrespectful, but I think Paul quite liked his cockiness as he's used to people fawning over him and must be refreshing to be talked to like a lad. Apparently he asked Johnny for advice on his marriage years later!
Johnny Vaughan is so annoying, he constantly interrupted Paul, mid-sentance throughout the interview
Interviewer is a bit disrespectful. Paul is not liking this at all.
?where don't he like it?
Back off Johnny, let the man speak!
He needs to shed the attitude. Sorry!
Deaf Ears? Speak up DE
