This has been a week of memories and reflection. I had the great privilege of being a member the choir Donald formed when he came to DC - Donald Vails and The Salvation Corporation. Being a member of that choir, the lessons and ministry shared, along with attending Howard University with Donald are memories I will cherish forever. Continue to RIP Donald. You were a great gift to gospel music and to me.
These Gospel Giants have left behind things we should treasure... Our young Generation wouldn't know who Dr. Donald Vails and Rev Milton Brunson, Thomas Dorsey or even Rev. Clay Evans any many others. When these greats have left this earth many allowed their great music to go in the grave with them and move to some of this "Contemporary" stuff. When these songs would touch you deep within. When you hear these old saints sing that is Gospel Music at best.
@Ol Cam Unfortunately, I don't think the young generation are actively looking for these old videos. There's far too much new stuff, good and bad, that manages to claim their attention. But fortunately, as long as RUclips exists, these videos will still be well preserved for a wandering heart and mind looking for gospel music with some substance.
I was in high school in Detroit, Michigan, when Reverend Donald Vails started a all city high school gospel choir, in which I joined for a short time. He was a great singer and choir director.
I'm sure it was a very exciting experience for you Donald veils is one of my favorite gospel singers who has performed with some of my favorite gospel music chiors from the gospel music workshop of america to the dallas fort worth mass chior and even had his own group called the chorelers
Where is The Barrett Sisters, Inez Andrew's, Albertina Walker. They definitely are the famous from Chicago legends they missing the core of chicago legends!!!!! I enjoyed him though but I'm looking for them to lol
Tbh, I forgot about him until this week when "I'm Determined to Walk with Jesus" suddenly came to mind. I found it and was blessed. Now, I'm listening to everything I can find by him. His voice and anointing are so moving and powerful. This one brought on tears and praise. Gospel stations need to start a daily segment of old school gospel like this. It would be a hit, and we need it out here! ❤

That’s the reason the younger generation has these videos to look at
