Fear (and the potential resulting trauma) is the main emotion that the amygdala is known to control, so it is important to survival. It helps us learn what’s dangerous and after the first encounter, how to avoid this danger. This is what Yoongi has said his lyrics refer to. Also, amygdala does mean “almond,” derived from the Greek word.

Of course amygdala is not real almond. It's just a metaphor. It is his kind of placebo, that's why he eats almonds in the mv and the character of the book that he read did also.

The word amygdala gets its name from its shape, which is almond shaped organ. There for the “Amygdala” comes from the Greek word for “almond.”

Cyrus I understand your confusion here. BTS's videos tend to be inspired by many things, events from their past, social commentary, psychological concepts, literature and many others. Sometimes without prior knowledge it's very hard to understand and analyse what they want to say. The best example is Blood, Sweat and Tears, concept is based on the novel by Hermann Hesse titled "Demian", plus lots of meaningful art, symbols and additionally some of BU (Bangtan Universe - fictional storyline, part of BTS's lore). It's impossible to understand it on the first watch. So we analyse every Easter egg, every frame, Bookish Theories is one of the best at this. She has an amazing knowledge, she reads stuff that inspired the MV's, she reads press releases and watches documentaries. Sometimes she describes what's seen in the MV, because some fans might have missed those details. It's impossible to see everything.
Word amygdala in English is used as a name for a part of the brain, that has a shape of an almond - true. Amygdala in Latin and ancient Greek and probably some other languages, means almond - true. Both things can be true at the same time and those informations are not conflicting.
At the end, the liberation she was talking about, it was breaking out of restrictions that society puts on idols. It was fully explained in Haegum video that you watched already.

The documentary is called Suga: Road to D-Day and is on Disney+ so you can't react to it on RUclips because of copyright. It#s about the production process of his album and the places he went to around the world to get into the right headspace to work on it.
Amygdala means almond in greek and latin, that's actually how it was named by scientists because it has the form of an almond. That's what she meant in the video.
I think the descripive part is necessary for people who didn't catch those details in the MV or the lyrics or don't know about what yoongi said pertaining to this song and the overall situation. It's included to bring everyone to the same point of knowledge and then deliver her final explanation about what the MV and song mean in connection with that.

The confusion between the words amygdala and almond in the explanation may come from this: almond in latin is "amygdal". I'm from Romania and the word for almond is "migdala". In italian is not the same, but because of the latin word she may have felt a connection between the two words, even behind their definition. Just a guess.

A LOT of Yoongi's music is about him dealing with his desire for fame / recognition / trophies / money. He often refers to these things as chains around his neck. My analysis of the three videos together is that we see Yoongi in Amydala stuck inside of his own mind, reliving these horrible moments in his life. The way that he chooses to deal with these result in the self-inflicted scar. Then (again, this is just my theory), the events of Daechwita and Haegeum happen inside of that Yoongi's head. They are battles he's fighting in his mind. In Daechwita, the mad king has that same red, open scar. His sin is a need for fame and power. That's young, thirsty Yoongi who wanted recognition for his music from his peers and fans.
The beggar Yoongi has the same scar, but it is closing up - not as fresh. He kills the mad king, and because of that, he gets a little better, metaphorically killing off that part of himself. Then that beggar Yoongi turns into the corrupt police officer in Haegeum. The scar is still there, but it's much older now. He's no longer fame-hungry - in fact, he's hiding the fact that he's in charge of the gang. This time his sin is greed. This is the Yoongi who has made it and is raking in tons of money, but he fears it's at the cost of his integrity.
The thief Yoongi steals the police officer's money and kills him. Thief Yoongi has no scar. He's almost healed. But then in the last Joker car scene, we see that the police have dropped him off. He now has control of the restaurant and the gang. He even has the police officer's coat. This implies that the cycle isn't over and will eventually repeat again.
