- There's a difference between hating something and wanting it to be better. I criticize Forza a lot, sure, but I've been with the series since 2010 and it means a lot to me, so seeing it's decline since Forza Motorsport 4 has been frustrating and sad to me.

Criticism =/= hate
Constructive criticism ansolutely does not equal to hate.
Putting it here for those who might want to read a shorter comment about this.
People act like you arent allowed to give criticism. 😂 We just hope to see FM shine again... i remember having so much fun doing stuff like open trackdays, open drift lobbies, drag racing and carsoccer.. nailing a tandem drift with a random player you met in a open lobby is so incredibly satisfying.
The issue is that Microsoft does not care. Sepi's video is a must-watch to consider how fucked Forza 8 is. Microsoft is a dung pile company that doesn't give a shit about the quality when there are plenty of people willing to defend pure shit. At this point, it is a waste of time to seek out any nice bits about this game because the bad outweighs the good.
@@DR3ADER1Microsoft, T10, any game studio for that matter isn’t required to care, we are as fans and as the most disappointing (I’ll say race game to keep this comment minimized) race game for me personally in 49 years of life on earth…including all FMs and all gran turismo and toss on the odds and ends to that…name the game, as a I’ve loved fm through the past two decades as it stole me away from gran turismo franchise…I say I am done showing them the money, that’s what they really care and give a sh!t about, Call of duty isn’t going to save me from cancelling gamepass, I took 106$ on the chin for this on tge pc version, if enough fans stop showing them the money then maybe more positive results would show for unsatisfied gamers, cause numbers don’t lie, and their numbers for this game all round the horn are looking like dirt . But that ain’t gonna happen I’ll tell you why, gaming has bred an generation of gamers with incredibly low stardards…they did it like they were boiling a frog. Real slow

Some people think criticize equals Hate. You can be Fan of a game and still call out the flaws. That's also the difference between Fanboy and Fan in my opinion. The Fan loves the Game, but still talks and knows about the Games flaws. While the Fanboy thinks it's by far the best and doesn't see some obvious flaws or anything that could be improved. As for myself, i'm a Gran Turismo Fan, but i have some wishes that can improve the game, especially for single Players. But i wouldn't call it the best by far. Which is something i don't do in general do anything.
You're right, of course. But there are also many people, especially on the internet, who have forgotten how to express their opinions rationally. Sometimes the line between criticism and hatred can shift very quickly.

The Question is, how do you Express your opinion. Some people especially in the Internet say their opinion in a matter that makes it Sound like as if it's a fact and not an opinion. There's a huge Difference with "I don't like" and "i hate". They tell some Shit, are immature in the disscusion and when they get called out for it to be more mature and Respectful in the disscusion, they either defend it with "it's my opinion" or don't even try to stay at the topic and even try to make it a Personal matter. For example someone said that unlike my parents he accepts his mistakes. Even though all i said was to give him the Info that he might confuse ACC and AC.
Always Kills some braincells when you argue with these people and you slowly realise that arguing with a wall would more worth your time.
Not all types of criticism is positive. There is something called toxic criticism. The difference between constructive and toxic criticism is very simple. Constructive criticism involves identifying things that you think are good or bad in a game and offers suggestions on how to improve, Toxic criticism only focuses on what is wrong with the game, even if you offer suggestions on how to improve the game you might still come across a hater if you are always talking about things you hate about the game and not much about what you like. In case you are wondering, this is why someone people might think that you are a hater even if you feel that all you are doing is being constructive. When you lean more towards the toxic criticism side of things you are destructive than constructive.
@@davidi3002 When you describe it that way, I actually think "Destructive Criticism" is a far better name then "Toxic Criticism" as I feel it better reflects how this kind of criticism is a Dark Mirror of Constructive Criticism (That and while not necessarily incorrect, I feel "Toxic" has sadly become another word that's quickly lost meaning in a society that overuses it far more then using it correctly).
I'd argue also that criticism is also a two-way street: While how one applies criticism is important, its just as equally important how one takes criticism as demonstrated by both of your examples. This seems to be another example of how people now are fixated on a very narrow-minded black & White view while completely missing out on all the subtlety and nuance that often proves its not always so simple.
Tbh if you’ve never said “I hate this game!” you’ve never loved a game. It takes passion to love and hate. Take it from a Souls player. Any fighting game player will tell you the same.

I agree with your video but I would offer this. People often like to watch videos discussing what they love about a game but sometimes RUclips just feed us all the people who criticize the game for all the stuff that not in it. This same thing happened with halo. I would be excited about the game and new content but RUclips just wanted to talk about how bad and broken everything was. “Desync” was the hot word but It literally never had it happen to me.
I think people are naturally drawn to controversy and negative videos. That's why people will not wanna hear anything negative about a game but still click on a video clearly titled as criticism
Shame you missed out on peak Forza 2. The community from 2-4 was untouchable

I love the way the cars feel and also the different time of day and weather effects. They have worked wonders on the cockpit view too. Unfortunately the AI 'rubber banding' needs a lot of work though and i would never play online.
I thought they removed rubber banding from the game?
I feel that because this will an ongoing game there will be improvement over time. Also they should add a sperate part to multiplayer where they allow people to host public lobbies with their own car regulations and their choice of tracks. Keep the original multiplayer too but they should just have this seperate too.
if AC2 is more controller friendly than anything it’ll clear all others in summer 2025
On pc specially, but i think ac evo needs to have some kind of mode simular to gt in terms of career and progression to really make the next step. It what has been missing for full sim catogory forever.
Very intrigued to see how that game is. A game being controller friendly opens it up to the masses, however it is a sim so I totally understand if it's not good on controller
In the past, fans used to make up the majority of the crowd around a game. Nowadays, it's either stans or haters. How did we get here?
There's a difference between criticism and hate. Hate is simply disliking something without offering how to solve the things they hate and is destructive, while criticism is offering suggestions and solutions to the issues of the game, and is considered constructive. It's important to distinguish betweent the 2 and there are people who do both things
There is a saying in France "qui aime bien châtie bien" wich means that if you like something, you'll critisize it more, its the feeling Forza Motorsport is giving to a lot of us, and the problem is that people who actually enjoys the game don't get that, because the game at its core isn't half bad, the gameplay is really enjoyable, but man did they droped the ball on everything else...
I instaled it after knowing the 963 was in the game, and its paid, of all new to forza cars in the game in S to X, like 60 or so, less than 10 are free, the campain is bad, and my biggest gripe, wich isn't talked about enough, is just the logic, the IP is freakin bad in the game, like the devs know nothing about cars, GT3s are faster than ANY road going cars irl, even AMG One, yet they are on low R, the Valkyrie is way faster than F1 and LMP1 etc...
And those aren't the only bad points, the game could have been good, can be good, but we'll have to wait till forza 9 to hope to have a true successor to FM4, now, almost 10 years after, FM6 is still the best of the Xbox One/Series era, and i'll add that the AI is really good in 6, FM8 AI is really bad
Totally agree with u mate. The Valkyrie is way too fast and almost undrivable, while Forza GT cars are way too far apart in performance with some being rocketships but terrible in corners, whereas others are really good in corners but much too slow on straights. This often ruins Featured Multiplayer Races as its one car will just dominate the others every time.
It's weird how many people are so willing to just suck up whatever slop a company hands them, and then if you point out the obvious downward slope of a game series, then you're the bad guy.
Also it's dry frustrating in racing and sports games, because it seems like it should be pretty easy to build on the past installments and yet they always seem to mess it up.
I wish the game would shine again i remember going to the midnight release for forza 4, the game was epic. Sadly i think those days have long gone😢
The best fanatics also make the best (or worst) critics. We critique the game because we like playing it and we know that the dev's can do better. We stay because of our devotion and love of the game; we critique it for the same reasons. Keep having fun because the more you have fun, the more the haters are going to hate. Love what you do and we're here for it all.

i personally appreciate you still suffering through the state of the game for us grandfather members of the community. Ive been playing since fm2 and feel like im crazy saying with every new installation going from "hey this isnt a new feature" to "oh theres even less here from last time".
Legit just on the way home from work today it hit me, WE USED TO HAVE FUN GAMEMODES TO DO OTHER THAN RACING, WE HAD SOCCER FFS
We were chatting about the forgotten modes in my Discord the other day, Cat N Mouse, Car Soccer, Car Bowling, Autocross, P2P etc. There was something for everyone.
I mostly watch your videos on this game because of the criticism and seeing your points on what you'd change since I was very much the same starting on FM3 and weirdly enough also getting a PS4 for GTS. When it comes to the stans of this game I just ignore them I've gotten laods of them on Twitter just because of me sharing GT7 clips not even comparing it to FM and they get butt hurt over it. I have mocked the game at times but I do want it to succeed hopefully anywear close to how No Mans Sky did.
I've been playing since the original forza motorsport . That was a bastard of a game it was really frustrating and hard. I don't hate this one. I really want to like it. But it seems to me the devs really don't give a shit about it. . They aren't really listening or doing anything to improve things. I'm beginning to think about giving up with it. .
I think its sad when people go and defend all those issues. Fm was at its peak between fm2-fm4 those was really good. Fm7 was the start of the downhill. Things got even worse with fm 23, most aspects was much better in previous fm campared to fm 23, now it seems very online focused, but even then forza has nothing that can even compete With gt7 world series championchip.
I have still not bought fm 23 and there is nothing to sugest i will either. The pontential is already kind of wasted when they still has not fixed the inaccurate car models, its said to be fixed but that will be in future forza title, witch means fm 23 will not be a good platform to build from
They say the truth hurts sooo...As for me- I very much appreciate your uploads and have been in agreement with them since Forza 6 when I first tuned in. It was a tough time for players wishes and complaints being ignored that only got worse with Forza 7. I cannot stand when youtuber is a sychophant for the developers of a game- I will go out of my way to skip their videos...(no names--no need for that). Keep up the good work Devon !

Wasn't expecting to see this, but I think its the sort of video that was needed considering the "Why are you playing this game if all you do is moan about it?" crowd here. It really is important for people to make that distinction between Criticism and Simply complaining just to complain (Especially when you have folks in the world who simply are farming for that low hanging hate interaction). Just because someone is criticizing something you like doesn't not automatically equate hate, its not that simple. Life has far too much subtly and nuance for us to simply limit ourselves to such a narrow minded view of "You either hate it or love it". There's layers to alot of things, its not always a simple as "Yes or no" and people need to step back from that. Just as important as giving constructive criticism is also properly taking Criticism as well. If you claim to love something or someone yet are not willing at all to point out those flaws in order to help it/them become the best they can be, do you really love it/them? Better question in-fact: Do you actually care about it/them or do you only care about YOUR attachment to it/them?

If you love something with a passion, but it is not perfect, you are (and must IMO) entitled to highlight the flaws.
Especially if you offer solutions, the critics is for constructive feedback so it can help for improvement.
It is a "Dutch" way of thinking that there is always room for improvement, and those things should be mentioned.
This is how things get better over time. Why else do we need another xbox, iphone, car, you name it.
In development these "critics" are necessary as the nr 1 questions always is: How can we improve?
These answers derive from limitations and flaws accumulated from test and critics.
If for whatever reason blind love/passion leads to hating all critics? Then that often leads to abuse...
This happens in relationships, marketing, pol i tiks, ect basically everything in this world.
In gaming, just look at the pre-order model from the last 10 years, bring out broken games to patch them over time.
They count on the fanbase to love it so much they will accept that kind of "abuse"..
And they use the critics to improve on the things most mentioned. (If the budget is still there)
Love and hate can and will be used against you in any way shape and form to steer you in certain directions.
It is the oldest and easiest way to "herd sheep" -> steer masses and is been used on all levels of live inc. gaming.
This means blind love, (following) is more destructive then constructive critics, by definition proven in history.

I'm one of those that couldn't get into Witcher 3. I was playing Bloodborne at the same time, and Witcher couldn't compete with that masterpiece.
I tried going back to it a couple of years later, but it just felt a bit flat and played Skyrim again instead until Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War came out.
Criticism means you care about improving something you like. However, people nowadays think that critism automatically means you hate something because they're too stupid to formulate a counter argument. The main problem is, people generally are idiots -and die-hard loyal fans of any media are utter morons.

Why do you think big companies are trying to delete audience score? They can't accept criticism and worse yet, schmucks online will shill for such products and call you names for seeing what's wrong. No wonder media these days keep getting shite when all devs wanna hear is "We LOVE this one" instead of "Improve this one, it's janky".

Totally agree with you, The game isn't perfect, and trust me, I like the game, but it can frustrating. The physic is almost the same as Forza 7 where FH5 has a better simulation steering than FM 2023, but the car choices are really good (The LMH are just what I've been waiting for a while), but the career mode is just sad. Endurance Career really brought me back in where I want to plug my Moza R5 sim rig, there's the AI that really need a work on tire wear pit time because it is absurd. The game is enjoyable, but there's things that are frustrating, and the AI is among them.
That's cute but I wanna ask, if there are other options, why even buy it if all the downsides outweight the little good things this game has? Like, is this the ONLY game you're allowed to play?

It is normal for people to think that you are a hater if majority of your videos are critical of the game. If you had a balance of positive and negative videos people will take your videos as objective and fair. Remember Forza is just a game it does not have to mimic real life perfectly the way you want it. Just enjoy the game for what it is, If someone asked you to translate all those things you are demanding into computer codes, you would probably spend days and give up. Give some slack to the developers for at least trying to create something that you can enjoy. Programming a game to perfection or everyone's liking is not an easy thing. As technology improves games will get better, but you will always come across as a whiny person if you are constantly making videos about the things you hate about the game instead of thing you love about the game. Just try to balance it out and maybe people might not complainnnnnnn.
Good job they had 6 years to make this game then. Still managed to mess it up. And the games are not getting better, that's the problem. We're holding them to the standard of the old Forzas.
Buddy what are you even on about. They had plenty resources, time and manpower to make the game good. Now ever since the game has dropped they have barely done any updates and have barely released any new content. They are actively ruining the game by not reinvesting into it. Defending the forza motorsport devs is insane. 😂
Oh yeah and lets not forget that they "accidentally" made most of carpass cars extremely overpowered and didnt patch them for MONTHS. Meaning this "serious simracing game" was literally pay2win. How do you defend that?

If you enjoy the Old Forza play the old Forza. If you believe that games are not getting better in general because of advancement in technology there is not much I can tell you. @davidi3002 I will carry on playing the old ones, thank you. Then, when a new one comes out, I'll give that a go and hope for the best, but given the way Forza is heading over the last 3 games, expect the worst. Not sure why you mentioned games in general, this is about Forza isn't it?
Forza Motorsport is making a mistake in the model they are trying to make the game.
In a lot of ways, Forza is trying to be console/controller friendly iRacing for all the good and ill that brings, but the community Forza has built over its last 7 outings is very different than that in taste and temperment.
I think there are definite things they can look at the current simracing marketplace to take and implement, but i think doing that at the expense of a lot of the spirit the game has would be a major loss
