Something happened last year with Tesla cars in America where their owners couldn't get them to start one morning. People thought it was just their car but, it turns out, it was A LOT of them. They were able to turn them on again after a couple of hours but it was just that someone somewhere in Teslaland had wondered what would happen if they pushed THAT button. Goes to show that, if they want to, they can limit your use of your car to certain days of the week, or only allow you to travel a certain distance.

Esping-Andersen and Gustav von Schmoller are some of the fathers of the northern european model of balancing social priorities with capitalist values. The difficulty is always to balance freedom vs community. These guys believe in much more regulated markets than the typical american - many modern takes do definitely begin to look like marxism and communism again. Social shaming has become huge. I got one of these emails as well, but for a different petition. I emailed back saying that they were undermining the democratic process by cancelling the petitions. Maybe after the election we should start a new petition to prosecute the current government for doing this, undermining the democratic process 🤔.

It's the same when a game is released on early access and the developers say, _"Come and buy are new game for just £45. But remember it's in early access but we'll keep updating it every week to make it the best game you've ever played."_
So you've bought the game. It's passable. But there are so many glitches in it, it doesn't really make it enjoyable. But the devs are sending through updates and over 1,500,000 copies have been sold world wide. Then after 2 months... Nothing. 3 months later and there's a message from the devs saying that they're working really hard on the game. And that's the very last anyone hears from them after they made a very nice and tidy millions. But you're now left with an unplayable game.
It's a lot like Sunsuck and all those other Tories who are fleeing their sinking ship. But they've made their money. Probably more lot than 95% of us could ever hope to _"legally"_ steal. They know they won't get re-elected. So they're off. And they didn't even turn the lights off on the way out.
And how does a petition affect voting exactly, i wonder what scary petitions were in there they want rid of...

They use it to push the agenda and narratives but any legit petition will always fail.
It's part of the echo chamber created to amplify the minority voice and justify censorship and surveillance.
When a law comes with a persons name attached you can be sure the agenda is being served with a fake or exploited crisis, it usually starts in a petition.

Sadly this is becoming normal. A long time ago, I was told by a friend that Amazon removed a digital book from their Kindle device which they had paid for but the book was later pulled and Amazon deleted their personal copy next time they connected it. Then their is Microsoft. Don't they do a similar thing by rendering certain software unusable when they decide not to support it. I also know people who believe that once their device is no longer supported that it strangely becomes so slow and erratic that it can't be used anymore, forcing them to by new. And there are things like printers from companies like HP where they insist that it remains online all the time. They will email you if the can't see it. I suspect that they don't want you to print any documents without them having a copy. And if you think that you can use your phone for anything without someone watching and recording your activity then you need to think again. They have been keeping copies of everything ever since communication went digital back in the Eighties. That's why the world is covered in server warehouses and storage facilities. Can't think what they would want to store all that for🤔

I'm using a new(ish) phone right now, my old phones internet connectivity got bricked a few weeks ago, because the phone hit ~10 years old.
It's annoying.
Some years ago I attended a talk by an employee of ARM (LBS connection), then recently acquired by Soft Bank (2016). Their vision for the future was “you will own nothing and be happy” Essentially they were expecting to add processors to everything down to your socks, smart socks (and everything else) would be connected to the web, buying a pair would really be a recurring rental controlled by Soft Bank. That’s a return to medieval serfdom on steroids. No one was more deleted than I when Soft Bank went bust!

Just to explain this to people who don’t know/care about videogames:
You buy a disc and you also have the machine that will play the disc. You have paid for both. However to play the disc you need to connect to the internet to play your disc even though you have paid and have the means to play it on in the middle of the sea, in a desert, isolated deserted island, etc. but you cannot use your disc in your machine because because neither will connect to the internet. Even though you’ve done the same thing, without connecting to the internet countless other times.
Are you aware that 80% of those who took that 'medical intervention" now have MAC (Media Access Control) addresses. You can see this for yourself. If you unlock 'developer mode' on your phone or get the app Bluetooth BLE scanner. Go to settings, developer mode, scroll down and Check the 'view Bluetooth devices without names'. now you can see all the MAC addresses. this is their digital ID. Certificate Of Vac.... ID 2020. Theres no access interface to give the mac address a name.... yet. Im so annoyed at gates.

This is a growing problem with everything that uses internet and/or requires subscription. Essentially, any parent company that controls access to things you have purchased can turn it all off either by ceasing support or deactivating its operation. This COULD potentially include modern cars and bikes, TV, home computer, your coffee maker, refrigerator, in fact anything that connects to the internet. The law is woefully lacking and it needs addressing globally.
same is true for smartphones. pays thousands and then find out 5 yers later you are barred from any worthwhile apps etc...
We can't expect games companies to support games for life, they literally wouldn't be able to afford it. That being said, every game you buy should have an offline singleplayer mode and should be playable even if the support has been ended. All it should mean for the customer when a company stops supporting a game is that they will no longer get updates, patches and fixes, not that the game becomes unplayable.

Games, music, TV, software have been heading this way for years. Software used to come on discs but now you have to sign up and they 'don't support' old tech to run discs. With games and music you still have options if you buy physical media and a retro console or hifi.
