4:14......Good double! Annd before this time point, good dog handling. It is a shame that the dogs and gentleman in this video are probably gone now. I would have loved to hunt with them. How many people even USE hand signals nowadays? I think it is a lost art. 6:48......take a line. Perfect training and execution. This is perfect for Springers and rough shooting. Any game you find the dog will work it and bring it back. Let's see your pointer bring back a rabbit. And at the end.......wonderful English manners, politeness, and humility. The stuff of the old Empire. Wish it was still that way.
All in programme still alive and enjoying the same sport and etiquette generally conduct has declined in the shooting field in resent years a great pity.
@@sportingsceneuk Thank you for your reply. The same has happened here in the US. Too many hunters on public land and squabbling over who shot the bird. I now go to Game preserves or farms during the week. No competition and there are always birds. Today it cost me $80 for three birds, but my 9 month old Brittany and I enjoyed it. Oh yes, I paid for four birds and missed two. One miss was a holdover from the last shoot there. The other miss was on me. Some days you just don't seem to be able to hit right. I also don't have the reflexes I used to have when I was nineteen. I'm an old bugger going on 63 this month. Thank you again and thank you for posting these wonderful videos.
Thank you for this video. I throughly enjoyed it. That Springer sitting on the stump with the gentleman is exactly what I've been looking for. He's got some bone and muscle to withstand even harsh conditions. Any idea what his pedigree is?
This is how we shoot still today here in Ireland ,enjoyed this video ☺️👍
Very nice work
