My wishlist as an A7 IV owner:
    - Faster readout sensor (stacked would be great but not expecting them to do it)
    - 40 megapixels
    - Higher res LCD & EVF
    - Maybe newer, better battery?
    - A7R V screen (I really hate the flip out screen when it comes to photography which I mainly do, just give us both)
    - 4K 60fps no crop
    - Better Active Stabalization (I don't mind if it crops more, just give us an "Extreme" option)
    - Better software update support, I hope Sony learns from Nikon, Canon & Fuji.
    - AI stuff, maybe a new processor?
    - Ability to Auto choose between different AF modes (train, car, bird, human etc) without having to manually choose one or the other.
    - Higher dynamic range
    - Better JPEG simulations (something that Fujifilm cameras are really good at), or at least give us the option to import our own filter recipe's like Ricoh does.
Can't think of anymore but we just want a worthwhile upgrade.
This is possible Sony's most popular camera out of all of them, so Sony, please give us what we want & need.

What I'd like for the A75: NO CROP 4K50p, the all-way-tilt screen from the A7R5 and A9III, the AI autofocus, shutter angle, waveform monitor/false color, internal monitoring luts, wifi tether. Less or no rolling shutter (the A9III global shutter, I really wouldn't mind having 24mp in the A75). Opengate and support for anamorphic would be nice to have, but not a dealbreaker if it doesn't. A comfortable grip, to be great quality, super reliable and all that, but Sony's been pretty good in that department, hope they keep it up. Oh yeah...recipes (like Fuji) would be nice / lr template/preset support for the photography side even lut support. That would also be dope.

Jared Polin had a video about a year ago where he compared the A7IV to the Canon R6II and R8, and I think Sony will have been looking closely at that kind of competitive analysis internally. The A7V definitely deserves to have higher burst rates for photography, among other things.

    I have been using the A7 IV for 3 years. I was previously using the A7R III(A). And my expectations are exactly as follows;
    - The sensor will probably remain the same. So I don't expect any changes.
    - Higher shooting speed (15-20FPS)
    - No slowdown in RAW shooting
    - Cropless shooting in 4K 60P
    - 3-Way rear LCD screen (like the A7RV)
    - Better LCD screen resolution
    - Higher Viewfinder resolution
    - The processor will probably remain the same but the AI chip will be added.
    - More object recognition and processing features (like the A7RV)
    - Improved ISO performance and Video performance
    - Dual CF-Express slot
Apart from these, there will be no more features. Frankly, I only shoot photos. I have no business with videos. I don't know if it would make sense for someone who only shoots photos to switch to the A7V. Generally, when you buy a new body, you don't need to go through at least 2 more generations.

Probably getting a faster readout, and a higher resolution rear LCD screen. I'm pretty sure it will do 4K 60 full width readout and 4K120 with a crop, better "Ai" autofocus is a given. I feel it will be a small upgrade from the A7iv, better sure but probably not a massive improvement.

All the little already existing new tech things mentioned smashed into it as a part-bin-grab will make it an outstanding upgrade. That's precisely why I skipped the A7IV - it just wasn't enough to entice me to part with hard-earned cash. The A7III still takes amazing pictures and I'm not even close to exhausting it's capabilities.

There is a tension between the compromises required for both the stills and cine side on this "all rounder". i'm a heavily stills shooter so the top of my list (assuming no *worse* sensor in DR/ISO terms) are: 1) IBIS stabilization improvement, 2) larger body/grip clearances for "real" full frame fast/long lenses; and 3) EVF improvements. You missed the last two. I suppose that A7RV-level EVF may be too much, but both pixels and magnification improvements would be appreciated much too. And, sure, sensor read-out improvements (which doesn't require stacking) to get a "true" 10fps performance (without the lagging "slilde show") also would be welcome. But that is it really. -- gary ray

open gate would be useful for when a client wants both social media content and a longer video. i feel like no crop 4k50p, better OSS and ai unit are out of question, these upgrades will 100% be present on the a7v. the a7rv screen i'm not so sure about because we only got it on a9iii. both a7cr and a7cii could've had it but they chose not to. that's why it leads me to believe this screen is reserved for high-end cameras. other useful things such as shutter angle, monitoring luts, waveforms, etc. can be added via firmware updates to all of the new cameras so it would be strange to leave out. giving it a faster readout would also be amazing, as well as much better overheating performance

4k60 no crop oversampled(come on, its 2500$ price range)
    4k120(cropped maybe)
Same pixel count would be fine but
I need at least 20fps, and fix that issue with 12 bit compressed raw in high rates
Maybe something like prores or b-raw at 6k
    Vertical flip menu
Higher resolution for both LCD and EVF
The main thing is rolling shutter. It cant be more than 10ms. If it gets 11ms - unworthy of upgrade

i just bought an A7IV NEW for the ridiculous price of 1800 bucks and still have to test the AF, it did good with an FE 85mm 1.8 at a store but tomorrow may be when the la-ea5 arrives and I can eventually go hunt them birds. I know I sound like coping, but i've had an A77II since 2016 and I'm a hobbyist that loves more the moment before taking a photo than the photos themselves, just the pleasure of twirling dials and pressing buttons and hear a loud T'KLAK that shakes the camera is just therapeutic for me. I hope I can stay with my new camera for 8 or more years! after all we likely reached the plateau of technological improvements. Also holy damn your hands are massive 1:23

The 4 has been a good B-cam to the S3. What I need is 4k60 without a crop on the 5. That's the whole reason I bought the S3. If the 5 has 4k60 with no crop and minimal rolling shorter distortion, I'll buy one. However, if it still has rolling shutter distortion, I'll just go with the FX3. I need a third camera that dies video primarily. The 4 is all I need for photography. Sure, the R5 is great but I never found myself cropping in so much that I needed the extra resolution before the image started to fall apart.

4k60p no crop (I don't need 120) and not pixel binned, faster sensor readout, _at least_ 40mp to keep up with Canon and Nikon (33MP is a deal-breaker) and not step on the R series' toes, AI autofocus chip, medium MP mode (like 20 or 18mp), A7RV screen and EVF, improved IBIS. If it doesn't do the stacked sensor/global sensor thing then just make the readout significantly better for video. Keep the CF-A slot, the ability to shoot dual SD cards is a huge bonus over Canon and Nikon's CF-B. No anti-aliasing and don't compromise low-light performance or dynamic range.

I definitely agree with you on everything - I am looking forward to the A7V - I think Opengate 6k, and shutter-angle would be great - along with the ZLOG - I love using the LUMIX S5iiX and various other cameras like the FUJI XH2S on a movie I am making, but the one thing that the other cameras do not have is lightning fast accurate autofocus like the A7IV. I think if the A7V has all that and gives it to us at the usual price of say £2500 that would be great. If the A7V is not going to offer above 4k recording, then SONY should re-evaluate its pricing and give it to us for under well under £2000.

Hopefully not. I still am trying to get used to the idea that it has 33mp right now. I wish they stuck with 24 like the A7III and the A9III. That's the sweet spot for video and photo and it could also benefit from the global shutter on the A9III at that megapixel count. If I'd want it for photography mostly, sure 50mp might be fine although for burst photos/weddings,etc you'd have massive files that you wouldn't really need to be that big. If you really want high megapixel count you've got the A7R5.

The A7V will be an incredible money-spinner for Sony - all they have to do is dig into the parts bin and smash all the latest tech into it with very, very little more research and development! It's just the sensor that needs some work - but it already exists in the A1 and the new 44Mp sensor so another one with 33Mp or 36Mp will be a doddle.
Most people have already listed all the existing improvements that they desire so Sony just have to bring it all together. I agree with Jason.
What I'd like to see is a straight-forward 8K, 24/25fps video with the ability to grab a still at will - hybrid shooters will absolutely love it. No need for 8K at 50/60p - 4K is enough for that.

Really wish Sony gave the ability to shoot 1080p over sampled from 4k. Would be really good for us people who shoot tons of video without having to waste tons of money on storage. Another flaw they have with all cameras including flagships such as the latest a9 and a1 is their flimsy mode dial design. When the camera is disassembled, these mode dials are held by only two screws which overtime get loose and cause random mode change shifts. This can be easily fixed by adding 2 more screws to hold this dial in place or extending the rotating the rotating switch on the flex cable that gets activated by the rotation of the mode dial. They should really do something about this and I feel RUclips creators should put an emphasis on long term hardware issues that plague the Sony cameras

    Hey😊,
I had a ZV e10 for my first 2 years of videography and content creation and I think I used it to the limit(i hate the 8bit, the low light and the stabilization issues). Thats why I'm about to buy an upgrade and I'm struggling to decide between fx30 zve1 and A7c2. I do know all the specs already but still not sure about what to pick. The fx30 is more reliable and marketed as a small fx3. I would get the fx3 if I had the money for it (so not for now). Then the zve1 has better stability and way better low light performance and dynamic range but seems to overheat. Also I don't need so many vlogging features like cinemativ mode or easy to use overlay and the question is if more low light is more important than having more lights with the fx30. I do know my craft to some degree by now. Do you have a good advice? I know with good lighting everything can look good also apsc but buying and carrying these lights is also to consider. And there are also the a7cii and a7iv with other cons. Thank you for you good videos in gernerall by the way 😊I hope you can help me. I'm pretty confident the a7v will have really fast readout and at least 20fps electronic shutter. When the a7iv came out, they couldn't add that because it would've instantly killed the 4500$ a9ii which only did 20fps. Now that the a9iii is out and the a1ii is almost out, there's no chance putting 20fps in the a7v will compete with the speed offered by those.

I think the A74 was the camera that made the others take notice and create/build better newer cameras to compete with the A74,i got mine boxing week of 2021 the first week it was available, maybe they just haven't used the sensor to its full capability and could continue to capitalize on it like a bit of better video and more fps for fast sports or bird photography, I think 12-15 fps in full RAW would be awesome, it only does 6 or 7 fps raw now, fix up the rolling shutter some how would be great, I have no issue with the auto focus or tracking so far, I would love to upgrade to the new A75 body , i just do not think i need it currently and if it comes with most of the new features that everyone in the comments and the youtube world want it will not be cheap and everybody will wine about the price , you want new features you pay up, the original A74 price in Canada was $3299.00plus taxes so this new A75 could be $3700.00 which is a good price for all the features everyone wants and will pay the price 👍great video Jason

Faster readout BSI 24mp, 33mp means you’d have to put in a stacked sensor aka like the A9ii, for rolling shutter sensors the smaller megapixel ones will always have a faster readout if all the tech behind it is equal or similar, people here aren’t understanding the tech behind it.
In summary, unless Sony found a way to reduce the cost of making stacked sensors, its gonna be several orders more expensive than the A74.

Actually A7IV with faster sensor read out will be quite enough to convince me and a lot of other Sony user as well as believe. This will ultimately mean: 4k/60 no crop and of course no line skipping or BP, 20FPS for stills. Actually I do not care much if it is 24mp or 33mp. What would be more interesting is whether it is going to have different base iso for SLOG3 - (800/3200) I would like to see (800/6400) if this is the case I'd sell my ZV-E1 and just stick to the A7 V as a good hybrid. If not I'd rather keep my ZV-E1 for low light ISO 12800 capabilities.

4k60 4k120 with no crop would be awesome and the AI that's in the 6700 would be great. Shutter angel would be huge too, Sony has to come up with the goods as Lumix is fast catching up. With their open gate and recording to ssd, also Lumix cost is way under Sony's. I'm so tempted to moving back to Lumix next year. One other thing is Lumix puts out so much more than Sony when it comes to firmware up dated on their camera's. As for Sony they rather you buy the upgraded camera body, that's just not good enough !!

judging from the a7cii that came couple of years after the a74
if we think of it as a sequence then the new a75 will be a combination of the a74 and the features of the a7cii such as the AI plus (hopefully) the fully articulated higher resolution screen) and I will be happy just with that to be honest
if they add an open gate and/or a no crop 4K i would chuck a party

right now the A7RV is a 61mp camera primarily focus on pictures, the low light ability and dynamic range is lower and the read-out speed is slower because of the focus on megapixels.
the A7iv (and probably A7V) is a 33mp camera which is better has a hybrid camera because it has better low light/dynamic range and rolling shutter speed

Starting with an A7SIII makes it hard to stomach anything higher than 8.7ms rolling shutter. Heck, I wasn't even fully satisfied with A7SIII rolling shutter performance. It is good, but far from perfection (A9III). I also have an A7Rv which has horrendous rolling shutter in some modes like crop mode 4K@24fps and 8K.

    • @JojoJoget

@@JojoJoget Maybe I made a documentary film using 4K@120fps at extreme macro of a total of 7x and had some jello effect issues? Also the Venice 2 is less than 3ms. It's truth, just depends if it affects you or not. Nothing beats global shutter, and I don't own one... yet.
Rolling shutter of the A7SIII earns 4.5 stars, and for A7Rv at binned 4K at 15ms it's 4 stars. Something like 8K or 4K cropped at around 30ms that's simply 2.5-3 stars.

Sony fkd up when they listened to those complaining about wanting a higher mp sensor in the a7 iv. For fk sake, if y’all want a higher MP. Get the A7 R series and stop botching the A7 series. We got a higher MP count in exchange for what? Worse rolling shutter, worse mechanical fps, overheating, and the list goes on. All they had to do was make speed, color, efficiency, and more functionality improvements and the A7 IV would have been really good. The A9 III literally has 24 MP and is a really good camera and Sony really dropped the ball by not implementing such mentality when designing the A7 IV. Car manufacturers and build the biggest most powerful engines but what good is it if the rest of the components can’t even handle the power, heat, and stress caused by the engine? In this case, what’s the point in Sony putting in a higher MP sensor if the rest of the camera can’t even keep up (i.e. cooling, reading out the sensor fast enough, rolling shutter, mechanical fps, buffer, etc.)
