The UFO was not inspired by Flappy Bird. Although Flappy Bird was released before 1.5, the update that added the UFO, it did not have its cultural significance until a year later. The UFO was actually inspired by Gravity Field, a level by TheRealDarnoc consisting of a cube with yellow orbs everywhere. This level is confirmed by RobTop to be the inspiration for the UFO gamemode.
there is actually a a way to place objects after the limit without hacks if you place multiple move triggers, objects can actually go past the border. and then if you use a bug where you hold the playtest button, click the menu button while still holding it, release the playtest button and save and exit. and now once you go back in the editor the objects will stay in the spot they got moved at. you can theoretically make a level infinitely as long as you want by repeating this process multiple times altough after a while the level will become physically impossible because the game will either crash when you reach far enough while playing the level or your cube will get stuck in place
With the CCGamemanager.dat file, I guess if a mod (or maybe bot) sees something fishy with the stats stored there they will detect whether you have hacked something.

you can lag the level so it goes less than 1 fps and X position floating point will increase
