What timing! 2 lessens ago we were educated on the centerline. Sedge brought up the CS-3 center scribe, from Bridge City. I went on line and ordered it. It came in last Friday February 16. Today I was educated on how to use the center scribe. Great timing. To quote two GREAT MEN “ be positive, be safe”. Thank you guys for Educating the woodworking community.
A very pretty (and pretty expensive) piece of kit. I know lots of us “lust” after premium tools, for me it is a domino. The problem for me as a hobby woodworker is that I really (really) can’t justify dropping that much money on a tool that I wouldn’t be using every day. Especially when there are tools I already own or can make myself, that will do the job perfectly well. A scrap of wood with three equidistant holes, a pencil and a couple of dowels will make a perfect centre scribe. Marking gauges and mortise gauges are tried and tested too. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of bling as much as the next man but I think I’ll pass on this one.
Think of the domino - think of how much faster your hobby would be. Think of how profitable. IMHO, a hobby should pay for itself. If it does not pay for itself, it is recreation more than a hobby. How much faster & more accurate do these kinds of tools make your hobby? How profitable could you be, how efficient, how much more just for fun work can you do with them? To each their own, but it is worth thinking about! Nothing we make will ever be as accurate as something precision ground or machined, too. But, to each their own, of course! No problem with striving to reach as accurate as possible on your own, or make your own tools! “the best investment is in the tools of one’s own trade” - Thomas Jefferson
Don't feel bad...I have bought and sold the domino 3x. Yes, I'm an idiot. I love that tool and a project comes up and I need it...I buy it...thinking I will use it all the time. Months go by and it doesn't get used. I end up selling it. Six months later...I repeated the cycle. And then during the height of covid...I bought it again...for over retail when tools were hard to get. I just sold it again. Its a great tool if you are going to really be using it all the time. I wasn't. But...I'll probably end up buying it again and again. Dumb...dumb.
SOLD!! They are having a great sale right now and I was debating....not anymore! Thanks guys!!
It is worth every penny👍

BCTW stuff is amazing, and you have to love any tool that makes Woodpeckers stuff seem affordable!
No doubt!
I need to put one of these on the Christmas list for sure 👌👌👌👌. Great video guys 👍👍👍
Worth every penny !!!!
Brilliant reviews, better than the maker's ones! Thank you
Wow, thanks!
Just drank the kool-aid a second time, first with festool and now just purchased the CS3. Thanks for explaining this easily.
Glad it helped!
I love this sedge. The festool sedge does not have the same effect. Calm composed and thoughtful is the way to go
Thanks
