    This is another video that proves WHY he will always be the GOAT. Football is not just skills or estadistics, football is EVERYTHING and DIEGOD WAS THE WHOLE TEAM. He knew were everyone was to deliver a perfect pass, he always knew what to do, was unpredictable and smart. All the players need someone, Maradona made the rest play, that is why he did not scored 1000 goals. Brains, balls, fearless, real captain personalitie. Can you even imagine how good Maradona could have been is this era???.

    The best thing about Maradona was watching him dribble. They kicked him, they hit him, they fouled him but he got up and continued. The refereeing in those years allowed too many hits but Diego went alone against the world. I recommend that you look for a compilation of D10S dribbling and/or leaving rivals on the floor
    PS1: Maradona had excellent passing precision, an excellent free throw kicker, an inhuman vision of the playing field, explosive speed and incredible dribbling, it seemed like he had the ball stuck to his feet. Added to divine creativity and a unique charisma. It's not for nothing that Napoli made a religion in his name, it's no joke, they believe him to be a divine being.
    Nobody ever conveyed so much to people running after a ball like Maradona, everyone wanted to see him, he was the idol of idols.
    PS2:
    -Maradona: 100/10
    -My englis: -99/10

      I only did something like that but without a ball. So we were in this gymnasium (a hall of 25 x 15 m). So the whole class of boys ( we were 17 yrs back then) against one. Being me. So 20 guys there to prevent me to go from one side to the other. And they couldn't catch me. Now I (and me classmates) thought that was quite something. Now Maradona would do that, with the ball, routinely. Makes one feel very humble haha...

      with better close control(slightly) and finishing, but Maradona was better in the air, passing, tackling , less predictable, more versatile (although Messi is very versatile), tougher, even better at getting the best out of his team mates.
      I think you could play Maradona any position except CB if he wanted to, not sure you could do that with Messi
      They are very similar , but I see Messi more as an attack Focused Maradona, and Maradona as the more complete player

    • @jacksmith4460
      @jacksmith4460 Год назад

      @@fareezfarouk9385 I was alive and watching it back in the day and you are just incorrect. The positioning has improved, but in the 80's in Italy there was lots of positional play its pretty much the foundation of modern defending. I assume you have heard of Nesta, Maldini, Baresi etc? what you think they were just running around like headless chickens,
      They were also playing with shite footballs, shite boots and pitches that looked like the moons surface I would love to see Messi do his stuff back then.
      The disrespect older era's get is brainwashing from the likes of Sky.
      It was not "easy to pass defenders". I'm 42, started playing at 2 years old, still playing today and still doing as well as I ever did and I play people age ranges 18-45 years old.
      I actually think someone like Ronaldinho would translate better than Messi to old skool football, but your assessment of old defending is a myth,
      The main difference is Fitness and sports science and the difference even there is not as crazy as people make out , again especially in Italy. Nutrition was already a focus in the 80's in Italy and at the time it had the best players in the world. Positioning has improved somewhat , but by a small percentage. These modern "inverted full back" formations, are just WM formations slightly tweaked, when was the WM popular? 50's 60's
      People think stuff like total football started with Cruyff, except he got it rom Michels, who got it from the 50's and 60's Hungarian teams, ...who played WM. What beat WM ? it was 442 that ended WM, and I am willing to bet money that the next modern system that breaks the inverted Full backs of today will be a modernised 442
      Football has been going for 120 years + the silliness of assuming the biggest leaps are always the newest ones, is just 1) not how football works, and 2) not how life works. Sadly its hard to see these truths , until you get older.
      I dont know how old you are but I am assuming 20-30 years old? If I am wrong I apologise.

    • @jacksmith4460
      @jacksmith4460 Год назад

      @Nothing-lr3dt I assume you are mocking Maradona for drugs, ..let me say this Yes Maradona was coke head, and should be mocked for that, and when I say Goat I am talking purely on the pitch. As good as Maradona was, as a person the man was a complete dickhead, and Messi is a much better human being than Maradona ever was. But If I am choosing an all time 11 Maradona is the first name on the team sheet (at number 10) Messi is the 2nd (at right wing forward) Ronaldinho and R9 complete the attack with Ronaldinho on the Left and R9 in the centre.
      But Maradona is the first name I would pick and also my captain, because he was a better captain than all these guys

    • @Ruimas28
      @Ruimas28 Год назад +2

      @Nothing-lr3dt
      Just looking at this video, you tell us where can we see Messi doing pinpoint accurate passes from behind the midfield line. Maradona did that for fun if he wanted.
      You tell us where can we see Messi crossing with accurate bycicle kicks when pressed in his back by a defender. Because Maradona also did that for fun.
      You tell us where can we even see Messi crossing or doing long range passes.
      And then you start realizing that they do not even play the same position exactly. Because Messi plays a bit more forward and his a completely forward mindset player.
      Whereas Maradona is more of an attacking midfield who will do crazy runs forward but his mindset is more midfield and pass / control the ball.
      In all honesty, if you wanted a reference, you should place Maradona side by side with the likes of Zidane or Iniesta. And then you would realize how Maradona´s stats are quite crazy.
      The thing is, if you would give Maradona a Barcelona team like Messi had, and allow Maradona to play solely 2nd forward / fake 9....you would see crazy numbers. Because Maradona would do it too if you wanted to play him there.
      Now, you try and bring Messi to the midfield line and ask him to control the tempo and pick up team mates on the other side of the pitch. And see if it works.
      Then you come around and tell us which one is the most complete player.
      Also, stats wise, never forget Messi played mostly in a league where half the teams were loosers with no hopes against his team. Maradona never played in such a dominating team. As example, CR7 also scored amazing number of goals for Real Madrid and you do not even have him in the conversation.
      Just have in Mind that Maradona´s Napoli scored around 50 something goals a season. When Messi´s Barcelona was scoring more like 100 goals a season. Just league figures. Because Messi has more european competition games under his belt. And there you just cant compare because the Champions League was different and Napoli was barely even playing it.

    messi was called next maradona at the age of 19, messi was litrellay compare to maradona at age of 19 and people are saying maradona is better.......maradona is fantastic player but i think messi is way better and also in modern era, defenders are good and lots of rules are evolved and invented for example VAR was introduced in early 20s and there's lots of rules which were not in maradona era

    • @Dacio1202
      @Dacio1202 Год назад +7

      U went into the right direction but ur interpretation is wrong.
      Todays rules were made to favor attacking player, that way more goals get scored.
      They want to make the game more attractive for the average Fan, even a fifa official admitted that.
      In Maradonas time it was offside when striker was on same heigh as the defender, striker got to be IN FRONT of a defender.
      Today player can move on the same high as the defender and easily outrun defender. Gap passing and long passing is now much easier for player as Messi.
      In Maradonas time most of his teammates were manmarked and sweeper waited for intercepting gap passes, it was much harder to play passes than for messi thats whey look so crazy in this video.
      Back then they played Catenaccio with manmarking and with a sweeper, just 1 or 2 goals at best were scored.
      At the beginning of the 90s they changed the rules which favor striker, thats why u dont see Catenaccio and sweeper anymore.
      End of 90s After R9 injury they changed the rule that sliding from behind or side can be a direct Red card, before it was allowed. Just watch all the crazy Fouls they did on Maradona before here on RUclips.
      Last recent important change was the var which almost always favor attacking player. Each slight Touch in the box now gets punished. In Maradonas time they slided in the box and could actually Touch striker. If there is a foul and var gets in its always a decision in favor of the attacking player.
      I dont even begin with much more awful pitches, heavier boots and balls.
      U guys gotta stop comparing them by today Standards. Because i am pretty Sure, if messi played and was kicked in Maradonas era he would think twice or more times if he wants to dribble past defender.
      Rules r not evolving, they were made for commercial purposes. The game today just softend up so much.
      Only infrastrucure is today better because so much money went into the Business. In Maradonas time Clubs didnt even got money in order to maintain their pitches

    • @jacksmith4460
      @jacksmith4460 Год назад +2

      @@Dacio1202 well said. I'm getting sick of people who did not watch and play football in the 80's and 90's telling me they know better than people who did. Its just mindless, and quite arrogant.
      They wont understand though until 20 years down the line and some player is at the top of world football, and he will be great but not as great as Messi or CR7 and some chopsy little kid will tell them "yOu dONt knOW bAlL brO, pLAyErS aRE sO mUcH bEtTeR nOw".They will have witnessed both players in their prime, and they clearly know Messi was better but some little scrote will be adamant they know better because all they know is the current era.
      Its so short sighted, and its kids believing the hype, and then they start moaning when people challenge that hype.

    • @jaysimoes3705

      What you probably do not realise, youngster, is that some of the footage you see here and elsewhere is a Diego Maradona doing all that at age 15 in the Argentinia premier league with some of the toughest defenders. Mind you that in that in that time South American teams, also Argentinian ones won the worldcup for clubteams almost always. Argetina of course became world champion in 1978. And what did Diego do at Argentinos Juniors in that time: he became youngest topscorer ever in Argentina.
      If modern defenders are so good, why is it that in the top division in Italy from 1978- 1990 the average numbr of goals in the Serie A was just 2,0 where in Spain during Messi it was 3,0. Why is that? It is because the rules in 2000s have strongly favoured attackers.
      It is like athletes nowadays are lot better, but suppose 100 m dash is now 100 m hurdles. Of course current runners are a bit better and faster, but when they get hampered they won't come close to the times run 40 years ago.
      I have seen loads and loads of Messi games. He is exciting and fantastic, but he is not as versatile as Diego and is pretty much an attacker. Tht is why he is also not a good captain of a team since he is not the director on the field. Diego was. I have never seen Messi doing things Diego did. And another reminder: look at what pitch Diego played and compare to the pitches since 1995 or so when more and more stadium had a roof.
