Thats some good wise beaver trapping. My dad and grandpa taught me to use bait sets in the spring set away from the houses and only take 2 mature beaver per house that leaves beaver for the years to come. Gonna miss the trapping vids but also like your ranching content as I grew up on a ranch as a kid. Keep em vids comin and good luck with all your endeavors.

Good Morning! I'm always sad to see the end of trapping season. Those chicks are fun to see! Funny how chickens, ducks, and geese are cute when they are first hatched, but most baby birds are featherless and ugly. I wonder why? I've never tried a set like that except under the ice. Helps to keep them afloat and warm. Those sets for beaver work great in the spring. If they have any feed left in their feedbed, it is usually stagnant. Some fresh food looks very appealing to them. It is an effective set. I have caught a pile of beaver with it over the years. I set it when I can't find any good places to setup. It should work good for you. Sometimes I put a little castor scent on top of the bait stick as well. Thx for watching and commenting, brother! Take care
I did a fair bit of beaver trapping with a Cree indian friend along the God's River in norhtern Manitoba back in the 80's. On one trip we caught 21 beavers. The canoe was weighed down & on top of that we shot a moose which put her almost to the gunnels. Fond memories. Some videos of chores around the ranch would be nice. I love stuff like that. Soldier on.

Ya, that was a good hatch. The mother wasn't to far away. As soon as I left I could see her making her way back to them. I've seen a lot of different batches hatched out since then, following their parents around on the water. Thx for watching, my friend. Hot here today!
