Great video and review! One thing to note is the f10 M5 and f13 M6 have hydraulic power steering to give the car better steering feel. When they were launched back in 2012-2013 it was a selling point as BMW went out of their way to give just the M5 and M6 hydraulic power steering, versus the rest of the 5 Series lineup that had electrically assisted power steering. Most of what I've seen now and at the time these cars came out is that the steering feel is still like older BMWs and owners and reviewers were happy they made the decision to do that. Interesting that you went so hard against the steering feel on this car when so many others had the opposite opinion and BMW made a costly decision/sacrifice to keep the hydraulic steering in their performance oriented m5 & m6's to maintain steering feel/feedback.
looking back on it, maybe I was a bit harsh on the car's steering, but I don't remember it feeling significantly different from a modern EPS system. It didn't remind me of something like the hydraulic steering out of an E92 M3. The car's hefty curb weight and large size are what I think would be contributing factors but perhaps I needed to spend some more time with the car and my opinion would change. It's been over a year now since i've driven it
Agreed. The steering feel on the Competition model is very good and definitely has that "older BMW" feel to it. The non-Competition version is a little soft in comparison though.
Great review, I own a 2015 m6 coupe and you were spot on in the description except for the steering, it’s hydraulic. Front end is long and you have to be careful coming up on curbs, but coming out of a corvette was easy transition for me. Interior appointments are second to none but you would expect that for the 130,000 msrp my 2015 listed for. Like you said though, they can be had for really good deals these days. As you stated, they started making the f13 m6 coupe in 2013. There was a refresh in 2015 for the North American models which consisted of minor front and rear end cosmetic changes. They only produced 472 m6 coupes between 2015 and 2017. The production on the coupe and the convertible ended in 2017. For this reason I look for nice low mileage examples to hold their value nicely if picked up in the mid to high 40s.
What year Vette you have. I’m thinking of doing the switch over from a 15 C7 Z06 for a M6 Coupe Competition. Trying to find a M6C in a “manual” that doesn’t have black leather interior is virtually impossible 🥺. Everybody thinks I’m crazy for switching but they clueless on how cheap and tight Vette interiors are.
@@kevinclark1482 My vette was 2016 stingray w/z51 package. That m6 competition is a real beast. You’ll never get it to hook, bout like your z06. I think the competition pckg in the m6 only came in black, I could be wrong.
It was between a 640i or 340i but I went with the 340 because of reliability and the B58 engine with the potential. Still kinda regret it because of the looks of the 6 series which I still think is the best looking car to this day.
I have an M4 and I love the size. I drove an M6 and I was scared to death driving in a parking lot. I could not get a feel for the length for the reason you said. The front just disappears but you know you’ve got about 5 feet of car in front of you. Really weird sensation.
Know this is a older review my question is how's the service and upkeep of a car of this magnitude with high mileage like say 63k miles or higher with service schedules what's a good projection of longevity with this model???
I personally would take the M4 because its more of a car that suits me (lighter weight, better handling) but the M6 is a great car it just serves a specific purpose like any of the M cars
@@Funkyflykiwi that’s true brother, I was outside of the country for two year lol, good condition F80 and 82 they r listing crazy price now, I got a 2018 f80 for 77k with 25kkm from a tauranga seller last year July , other than this one all listings on trade me were just crazy
M4 feels much more athletic from a handling standpoint and lightweight, whereas the M6 feels a lot heavier but it has an incredible amount of power on tap at just about any point in the RPM band
The paint on the passenger side front brake calipers are faded which is a huge red flag when buying a used M or any sports car for that matter. Previous owner must’ve tracked or driven it hard. 😬😬
@@young9534 there's F10 M5 pushing 1000bhp at the crank in the uk on stock internals. As long as the car has been properly maintained it should be reliable.
Hey pal two mistakes: 1) m6 has hydraulic steering not electronic 2) there is no sound emulator like Audi uses for this particular vehicle. So what you hear is what you get. Other than that we’re golden and I love the car. Keep up the good work.
No man! In BMW division there is only one highway king and its not M6 or any M car! In Europe we know the only highway (autobahn) king is ALPINA!!! And it doesnt important is this B3 orB5 or B6! 300 km per hour plus will eat this M6 on highway😊
The styling of the m6 has always been my favorite, I don’t see why they don’t get talked about or brought up often.. super slept on.
its talked about right here fym
Cody BersiCC key word here is “often” google the definition
Totally agree with you man! It's a beautiful and overlooked car
The best looking, best overall car that BMW ever built. 10 for looks, 10 for interior and 10 for performance. Timeless modern classic.
No replacement for displacement...those M6s pull insanely hard. Underrated super car if you ask me. Keep up the good content bro!
Thanks man! Yea they are fast as hell!
Grand touring car*
Just bought a 07 M6. I would not trade it for 90% of 2022 cars on the lot. What a ride!
congrats man!
Thanks!!
Beast of a car very underrated in the M world people are worried about reliability but they are reliable if maintained regularly great video Omar
Thanks Paul, yes i agree pretty reliable if the maintenance is kept up on a regular basis
I’m so glad you got one of these in the channel 🔥🔥🙏🏼
Thanks brotha, it was a very fun review to film!

Thoughts on Engine reliability?

Yes, the front end can be tricky when you forget how long it is! But nevertheless its a very enjoyable vehicle overall
Very true, after 4 years with my m6, it's like parking a 4-door cadillac
Good review man, your videos are really improving these days!
Really glad to hear that man, thank you!
great video bro! love that M6 damn!
thanks man!
yo dat whip be fresh my homie
Never took this beast that seriously but wow, now I want one so bad.
me too i’m a diehard bmw fanboy and the m6 was my least favorite but rn i’m looking thru the used market to find the best one
I want the Gran Coupe M6 so bad.. lol
Nice car! There’s a guy near me who has one with an Akra exhaust and it sounds wicked
The Akra exhaust sounds nuts on these cars!

Amazing car ,love it! Will u choose this one over a 2019 M4 competition pack (same second hand price in NZ)
All day everyday ..Much more car than the M4
I personally would take the M4 because its more of a car that suits me (lighter weight, better handling) but the M6 is a great car it just serves a specific purpose like any of the M cars
SMN literally more car. Like it’s actually bigger, heavier, and more powerful :P
Same price in NZ? Not even close in 2021. A 2019 M4 competition if you can find one is $20k more than an M6

Don’t forget the extended warranty
badass car for sure man!
Thinking about a f10 m5 also, don’t know how I feel about reliability though
How is it compared to your m4? I’m having a hard time debating between an m4 and an M6. I pray u having a blessed day!
Two different engines. I think the M6 is more luxury
M4 feels much more athletic from a handling standpoint and lightweight, whereas the M6 feels a lot heavier but it has an incredible amount of power on tap at just about any point in the RPM band
M6!!!
The Steering Rack is hydraulic not electronic the comp pack car has the better steering rack ratio , The crank is forged the pistons are Cast Mahle
Dinan tuned? So like Stage 1 bootmod?
Why the pilot super sport tires versus ps4 tires?
I have a e63 m6 is that a space coupe? Ive never really heard someone say that lol
How is it on the canyons? Or did I miss that?
It's decent, it handles better than you would expect but it's still a very large and heavy feeling car.
The paint on the passenger side front brake calipers are faded which is a huge red flag when buying a used M or any sports car for that matter. Previous owner must’ve tracked or driven it hard. 😬😬
Interesting! I think honestly the caliper looked faded in that clip because of the glare from the light, but i'll let the owner know
Quality of the videos have gotten so much better but last years intro neeeeds to come back atleast song
thanks man, im working on a better intro at the moment actually
how much
This is design when BMW got their act together, sleek design 👍
previous Bangle design was butt ugly and lowest point in design.
Yes agreed, that's why I think its truly a high point for BMW design with the F13
NorCal Rider lol hate to agree as BMW fan but this m6 looks a lot sexier than the m8.
I heard you don't want the V10 because of the poor reliability. I keep hearing 2014 and up is where it's at. Twin turbo v8
2013 and up. But yes, the V8 is much more livable and reliable.
good review bro!!! thanks for Russia
Thank you for watching bro!
These are cheap now thanks to depreciation. I’m just scared of reliability.
I think overall they're pretty solid as long as you're not hammering the absolute crap out of the car
@@SimplyCarThings Yeah I really want one. Have you seen the video savagegeese did on the F10 M5? That kind of scared me away from them.

young 95 I’ve owned one for five years now. I did get the extended warranty. I had a fuel pump go out but it was covered. I love this car.
when we gonna see some donuts in the m4?
hopefully soon :D
Stock m5/m6 f10 and f13 makes 620/630 hp stock in dyno. So this dinan stage 1 probaly makes 700 hp wich is typical power with stage 1 on this cars.
Dont have that much power on dyno thats high reading dyno

M6 doing 300+ easly
I live in Australia so we don't have an Autobarn, however I can confirm the m6 doesn't have any trouble achieving +300kph on the road.... 😜@@henzo7087
