Wow!!! I am so happy that my generation which is Generation X have/had such an awesome artist like Lady T and I am equally happy I had the chance to see her in concert 3 times. Lady T, I will see you in heaven and please know New Orleans will always LOVE YOU!!!!
Damn she’s huge amongst RnB and soul superstars ... I predict she will be more and more recognized and known. She deserves so much. That groove is out of this world!
Wow!! Teena Marie was so multitalented, every song on 13 albums was worth listening to, what a musical gift from GOD. Thank you Ivory Queen for not just your albums but the amazing concerts always the lady of evening and always the grand finally. You were the best live act in musical history RIP💝💝
Can't believe that this song has always existed. I never thought Teena could ever sing on this kinda of R&B old soul groove song. No wonder they thought she was black. I don't I will be stop listening to this song for now. I'm from Jamaica and this has a old reggae song to it. This woman is soooo damn versatile. Geeeezzzz
I just heard this song last week for the first time and it is awesome. There I was thinking that Smokey had the monopoly groove on this song and along comes my girl who just blew it out of the water. Hey Teena, way to go!
Love 💘 love this song from the Ivory Queen Of Soul.. Damn wish Teena didn't leave us so soon. RIP Lady T. You will always remain right here in my heart and my ears...
@@paulmorrison688 It's a demo. Had it been released back then they would have tweaked it some more. That was all. There's not many Singers who can cover a Rose Royce tune and do it it justice. Teena is one such person.
@@paulmorrison688You'll get no argument here. Like her chum Rick J, a lot of her records were in plain sleeves. Apart from the album covers we'd not much to go on in the UK apart from The Sound of the records. I can still remember hearing Portuguese Love on the radio for the first time and going '"OH "...that's Teena Marie too ?"
Shes on my alltime top 5 female vocalist/ singers of all time...miss her 😟
No sir. She is my top 1 favorite!
Just out of curiosity, who are your top five singers?
