The most comprehensive information and you did not say a single word! 😊👍 I must have watched 5 or 6 videos of at least 10-20 minutes of talk on this subject and none of them gave the full set of instructions. Thank you so much 🙏
I don't understand this. The title is about enabling CD/DVD drive booting, but the final option changed was for booting from an integrated NIC, booting from the network, not a CD/DVD drive. ... FWIW, Dell's official guidance on this is wrong as well. It only says to select the "One Time Boot Menu" after pressing at boot; there is no "One Time Boot Menu" option. At least this youtube video gets me one step further in the process.
After hours of work last night, I managed to achieve getting Clonezilla onto a bootable DVD. Now the Dell tech told me today, on the phone, that I can't boot that up as a standalone program from my CD/DVD drive. I don't believe this; it just can't be right, but I have found no way to set the BIOS to recognize the CD Drive as a boot device. Not even in the so-called one-time boot menu.
Hi, thanks for makng the video. But ... when I try to do this I don't get the "UEFI: General USB flash disk 1100" at 0:15 seconds into the video. How do I get that? Best wishes
how to add UEFI boot option? What should i write in the boot option name and file system list? help me, i Can not Booting from my USB Flashdisk, I have create bootable GPT Format using Rufus
Hello, Which model computer do you use? After setting as a uefi via Bios, you can load with rufus. If you can pass the computer model, I will search the UEFI settings and return to you.

But I'm still curious about the UEFI settings regarding the add boot option, because my Flashdis isn't readable in UEFI even though when I made it bootable I set it to GPT format
I'm trying to do this on a optiplex 3020 and when I'm in UEFI f12 boot menu I only get WIndows boot manager underneath it and not a USB stick option I made sure to diable legacy option roms and made sure secure boot was enabled....

So in order for "legacy boot" you need to go and DISABLE "legacy boot"? That's like jumping overboard in order to remain dry. Makes absolutely no sense.
In bios settings, uefi boot is defined and secure boot is activated. legacy boot is already disabled. On the Windows Setup screen, you will see multiple partitions on disk creation. If this does not come, there is a problem. There is no problem in the definitions on the video. It is explained in detail how to make a different video. I advise you to watch. It would be better to have audio explanations instead of making the viewer read everything. At that point, why not just create a how-to article as opposed to a video?
I was having this problem too. What I did was hit F12, select Legacy in Change Boot Mode Settings, reboot and then hit F2. I could see the USB option when I selected UEFI under Boot Sequence. Also make sure your USB is formatted as exFAT or FAT.
On the Bios screen, go to the Mouse / Touchpad option in the Post Behavior section, select the PS2 Mouse, press the apply button, then select the touchpad / PS-2 Mouse again and try again.
After doing this i select boot from dvd rom drive as its what my brand new genuine copies of windows is then the windows logo appears for a few secs then it changes to a light blue screen for another few secs before my dell desktop pc completely powers down and turns off. Has anyone experienced this also and if so could you explain the fix for it thanks as as of now im dead in the water with my windows 10 install onto my dell optiplex 7040 haha !
hi, I did the check. The supported operating system on the Dell page appears as windows vista. Windows 7 and above operating systems are not supported. Uefi bios support is not available.
How to boot from USB:
Press F2 -> BIOS:
General -> Advanced Boot Options -> Enable Legacy Option ROMs -> Disable
Secure Boot -> Secure Boot Enable -> Enabled
Apply changes and exit, restart, then press F12:
Change Boot Mode Settings -> Click and ESC after this to restart
Press F12 -> Choose USB device from the Boot options
Enjoy!
