this is inspiring to me , as I use 99% of the same methods you are using and i'm soon about to start my detailing business and finally will have cars to work on and transform and make RUclips videos about , this is the most excited I've ever been in my 31 years of living to start working 😀 so anyways great job on the channel, its weird how some channels don't use voice / showing the person behind the work, but I get it and will do it aswell, I guess your video is just way more approachable to all demographics of viewers i guess.. keep grinding bro and success with your channel, we'll be successes in no - time :) just one question tho , what camera and what mic do you use please ?
It brings joy to me that I can inspire others with my videos. I hope you have great success in your business and RUclips channel and feel free to inquire if you need any help. I record all my videos with an iPhone 13 Pro and that’s it. It’s simple and easy to use which means I can spend more time detailing the car than setting up the camera and in terms of video quality it is very competitive to newer cameras.
I used to do that starting off and it’s a good safety measure but with years of experience you learn how to avoid sanding the edges. Thanks for the feedback.
I used Koch chemie heavy cut and micro cut but by hand using a foam applicator as the paint on them is very thin. Then I coated with carpro dlux so that it can be protected. Didn’t show these steps as it would’ve made the video too long.
@@dokhdetailz5695 Thanks for all those product details, much appreciated! I actually have this exact same car (2014 GTI, candy white), so I watched this vid with great interest. When I saw how bad the headlights were in your client's car, I figured the grille must have been equally bad shape, so I was stunned and confused... as to how the grille was restored to such a nice deep black with just the brief cleaning shown in the vid. How long (approx.) did it take you to do that polishing by hand? That sounds like A TON of work, polishing each of those individual grille hex cells by hand...!
It took approximately 30 minutes if you work quite swiftly. Just make sure your grill doesn’t have the exposed plastic hex’s as they differ between each car because those ones aren’t polish able only the ones which are painted black are.
@@dokhdetailz5695 Thanks for that additional info! Unfortunately I actually do have the plastic (not painted) grill on my 2014 GTI. Do you have any suggestions for products (or processes) for returning it to a dark black color? I tried cleaning the grill (Dawn dish soap and a brush) and applying Aerospace 303 Automotive Protectant, but the improvement was only slight. I've looked at a few products which claim to redeye black plastic, but... they all seem to have a few 1-star reviews saying that ran (in a rainstorm), leaving black on the white part of the bumper under the grill. Would love to know what you'd use in this scenario!
I would use a dedicated plastic ceramic coating such as carpro dlux or gtechniq C4. They are more pricey but in my experience it will look new for years.
That’s my usual approach but with this cars stickers it had become really brittle and pulling it off with a heat gun would only remove tiny pieces at a time.

Great job ! If you ever move to the Tampa Bay Area in Florida, let me know ! Thanks, RickGTI….. 🌴
Looks so different can’t believe what a huge difference clean head lights make to the overall look of a car WOW
Beautiful work
Thank you very much!
Love it good job

Really nice transformation!!
Good job.
Good job mate, keep it going
Another great video!!
Good on you 👏
Good video 👍
Just a tip: before you sand the headlights, put masking tape on the paint around them.
Then it is easier to avoid scratches while sanding.
I used to do that starting off and it’s a good safety measure but with years of experience you learn how to avoid sanding the edges. Thanks for the feedback.
Very impressive! What did you use to the black front grille so dark and shiny? I imagine it was quite sandblasted, given how hazed the headlight were.

What you use to clean exhaust? Good work man 👌💪
Thanks, I started with 0000 steel wool and water and then polished with “Mothers mag and aluminium polish”.
What polish did u take for the black frames of the doors ? 11:46
Koch chemi micro cut. Those plastics have very soft black paint so this polish paired with a wool pad makes them look new.
Great job. Tip..to remove decals/stickers, try using a heat gun. Thereafter use acetone to remove glue residue.
That’s my usual approach but with this cars stickers it had become really brittle and pulling it off with a heat gun would only remove tiny pieces at a time.
WD 40 works well to remove glue residue.
Wow, well done! Owner may change the tires (DOT2512) after 13+ years, though.
Don’t worry they did 😂😂
Great job can you please tell me the name of the thing you used to remove the sticker from the back window the orange grey thing
No problem. I used a plastic razor with some glass cleaner.
Thanks 🙏
Looks like it came out the factory
Whatta sexy car and ofc the best detailer cleans it
Exhaust tips could have been better. The rest id good tho.
The tips had a lot of pitting that couldn’t be removed. Thanks for the feedback.
good work and very satisfying @@dokhdetailz5695
Headlight polish not allowed in Germany
I never knew that. What’s the reason for it?
@@dokhdetailz5695 it counts as a modification of a component that is relevant for security, dazzle oncoming traffic could happen eg says ministry of traffic
So you would have to buy brand new headlights when they go yellow. That’s not good for detailers.
Owner didn't recognise the car??? We've only got your word for it
Owner didn’t want to be on camera, and I think I’m trustworthy 🙂.

I see you do a very good power wash. How I can contact you.
You can get a hold of us at our Instagram and other socials!!
Doing "detaling" with a licence plate and frame of the plate...
Abomination of work.
The pressure washer and snow foam is more than enough to clean behind the plate. Plates only come off for paint correction 👍👍

Washing a car on the grass with all those chemical products…. So smart
