When Ray rolls over to the door at 0:31, that was a stunt man they hired. He had come off Terminator 2 without a scratch and broke his nose while doing this.
A shame they replaced the quietly charming intro of the previous seasons with this noisy atrocity... It really does not fit the tone of the show itself either.
I never understood / still don't understand why this show is so "funny". Its pretty lame, and the jokes are ALL so predictable (and often simply bad / or kinda juvenile). 20% of the jokes are about the bad cooking of Debra, 20% about Ray wanting s#x while Debra doesn't, 20% about the height of Robert , 20% (juvenile) fights between Frank and Mary why they hate / dislike each other, and 20% jokes where Mary smothers her two boys. I think this kinda sums the whole show up in a nutshell. I really don't understand its popularity (back then). Is it because back then there simply weren't many other sitcoms (to compete with)?? I think this is one reason. I also can understand why older people probably like it (coz it pretty much always stays kinda "friendly" / innocent, never very rude like, say, Married with Children). But the majority of people watching sitcoms isn't older people. To me all this is a bit of a riddle. Nowadays i sometimes see re-runs on television, and the humor is really often kinda bad, or at least not extremely funny, and as mentioned before: very!! predictable. Im not saying its total garbage or something, sometimes it's kinda "nice" to watch (i prefer to use the word "nice", instead of (really) funny), i just don't understand why this was such a huge (!!) hit on television.
one of the most iconic sitcom intros 😍
Raymond 's perspective when he sees them coming ,complete with dolly zoom ,still kills me !
yeah!
It sounds like that scene from Jaws where Chief Brody sees the shark killing Alex Kinter.
Lmao why is this intro so relatable? Hahaha literally this is me when anyone comes over hahaha
This is my favorite opening, no question. Although it's completely ridiculous.

No matter what they use this for, the first thing that always comes to my mind is Die Hard.

Best intro they made … I hate that last intro tho
Ode to Joey - Beethoven
Should've used something for intense and dark, like Dies Irae Requiem by Guiseppe Verdi
Doesn't really say "American sitcom" though, does it?
