lisa saying she was embarrassed for not knowing how to cook soft boiled egg: me who didn’t even know soft boiled eggs were a thing until i watched lisa: 👁👄👁
My ex husband didn’t even know how to turn on coffee maker . Before divorce was final he asked kids to teach him how to make coffee. After 26 years......🤦♀️
What they dont tell you is to make sure the eggs are room temp when you use this method. I tried it and used them straight from the fridge and like 3 of 6 crack just as they touched the water.
take a thin needle or tack and poke it into the large end of the egg before you boil them. It will stop them from cracking and make them easier to peel. (no the water doesn't get in)
Alternatively u can put the egg in cold water, heat it up and once it boils, only boil it about 4 to 4,5 minutes. No matter if it comes from the fridge or not. Also, dont put the stove too high or they could still break, eggs on room temperature or not. Boil on medium fire
Thank you, Lisa! I’d tried this three different times before and always got results that were either too over or too under. Did it like yours for 6 minutes and just ran under cold water instead of an ice bath. Peeled beautifully and was perfectly soft boiled!!
It's not ramen idea but close. You can take those crunchy Chow mein noodles and mix them in to chocolate. You can either shape them in a messy cluster style or do it like bark. I don't care for the noodles pain but with the chocolate they are delicious.
Just wanted to say thank you, bc it was this video that finally taught me how to cook soft boiled eggs! So simple in hindsight, but learning something new in cooking is always a blast for me. 💖
Thank you for this. Most people when they try to explain how to boil an egg tell you to let it boil for the amount of time but don't say whether to put it in cold water and heat it up or wait until the water is already boiling. This is a big help
Tips that I've found: The amount of time DOES depend on heat, but typically if you spend 6 minutes in a FULL boil it'll be fine. If you boil in the beginning then lower the heat to a simmer, it takes 7-8. The ice bath REALLY helps to peel the shell as well, the longer you leave it the easier (5 mins is good)
I've got a better tip,,,, put the eggs in cold water,,, when the water starts to boil take them out for a nice runny egg, its backwards but the running boil is like a timer it actually helps you time it correctly 👍
That's the most perfect egg 👌 I LOVE my eggs cooked like that & didn't know till now that I love watching them being cut in half & seeing that perfect yolk, strange I know 🤷♀️
Ay she probably won't. Her videos are more relatable, like she'll make stuff that you can easily make yourself. She isn't or maybe doesn't want to be as professional as a trained chef. She wants to make simple and easy recipes for the common folk who don't want to cook complicated stuff.
Lisa ty for this video. I been top afraid to try after I messed it up too many times. I just got done with making my eggs and they came out PERFECT just by following your instructions!

Aah the memories..until online school started my mom would give my brother amd I a glass of milk and one soft boiled egg each bc our bus would come super fast so we didn't have time to eat an elaborate breakfast per se
Ive always loved making boiled eggs and about a week ago my friend on discord said he didnt know how to make one so i video called him and walked him through it. It made me happy i was able to teach someone, despite it being fairly simple.
I love hardboiled eggs. I just cant do the runny yolk. Its almost like eating snot to me (no hate to anyone that likes it runny, youre allowed to like any kind of food you want 😊)
Im Indian and I have made a lot of boiled eggs. I think this trick should help you: Add some normal water in a pan, then add the egg abd a pinch of salt then boil it instead of putting it after the water boils. The only thing that might be up to your liking it that the yolk also gets boiled and becomes like... uh i dont how to say but like it becomes so soft which might not feel nice in your mouth.
Saw a Japanese show called Cooking With The Chef on pbs. He pokes a hole at one end of the egg just before immersing in the water. This facilitates easy shell removal. To slice hard boiled eggs, he uses thread. (A knife warps the shape)
the soft boiled eggs i usually eat look like sunny side ups when they come out, the white is still soft and the yolk is runny. In singapore there's a breakfast dish that's served almost anywhere, kaya butter toast with 2 soft boiled eggs . they're the best!! don't forget the soy sauce and pepper too
There's an egg boiler on Amazon and it is the best... you can do medium , hard or soft boiled eggs really quick... maximum 10 mins easily ... I've tried it and it's really good
I showed this to my mom and asked her if she could cook it for breakfast she agreed so we followed the recipe we just cooked for 7 minutes instead of 6 because we thought it would cook the egg all the way and I mean it was pretty god the only think I would’ve liked to see when we cut it open was little more of a runny yolk but over all this recipe was delicious and I would recommend you try it🤩✨💕😊
