That is why I will never host a garage sale, ever. You have people nickel and dime you all day long. Most of the items are pretty cheap anyway, it becomes very annoying, very quickly.
If you host a garage sale and don’t expect people to try to beat you down in price then you’re fooling yourself. Everything at a garage sale is being sold as a loss to begin with
Yeah I couldnt' deal with it either. I sell stuff on craigslist and put firm offers at great prices. Usually new, sealed, and significantly less than you could get it anywhere including ebay. Factor in tax and you're talking about 20-25% less than you'd pay retail. Still, get tons of emails with people trying to lowball even when I say the price is firm.
I was at a garage sale once looking at a baseball bat, for my 7-year-old son. The man hemmed and hawed, how he musta spent $95 or so on it years ago, and he'd have to have . . . I knew the price out of him was going to be way too high. It was a garage sale, for pete's sake! I wanted it for my kid! Really??!! I walked away. I am sure the guy did not sell his overpriced baseball bat. If people really want to get rid of their used stuff, they need to price it to sell, not obsess over how much they spent on it new.
These picking adventures reeeaaallllly need resale follow up or completion!! I was hyped thru the video to see what you made off your finds… aaaaaand it just ended unceremoniously.
@@eaglerider1826 no, she didn’t. The negotiations is clearly still going on and she walked away saying “nope, 19” and with that the negotiation is over before CP had an another offer.

I actually sold a Maserati Teddy Bear to a car collector in Malta. Although that backpack is specific, I think there are definitely people out there that collect vehicle memorabilia!
At a sale this weekend, little girl asked on a notebook marked 50 cents if they'd take a quarter. Lady straight up said no, we're not reducing prices today. Told her to keep her quarters - she only had the two - and I'd buy it for her. I mean, c'mon.
Geez some people 🙄 when my family and I have yard sales, if a kid asks to buy something small, we just say they can have it. It’s no big deal and they don’t have to spend their money
I hit a garage sale last Saturday and everything was FREE. LOL. that is a first for me in all the years of going to garage sales. Here is the kicker. I was the first one there. From the Cleveland area.
I had a FREE garage sale last summer. Just wanted to get rid of everything, and rather than take everything to the thrift store and donate it all, I posted an ad and had people come pick it up. Then I donated what didn't get picked up- less to haul.
At my one and only garage sale I held getting rid of my kids toys,I had a glass table set out with a “free” sign. Everyone enquirer about it but nobody bought. So I put a 5 dollar sign up and the next person bought it. Lol. I’ll never forget all the suspicious people wondering about the free table. Lol
The Mercedes lady was a tough negotiator. Great find with the clown 🤡. I don't know much about figs. I'm glad I wasn't the only that couldn't find much this weekend. It wss tough.
I went to a yard sale in Ypsilanti Michigan in 2008 the day my sister died I accidentally left my purse at home I had 3 bucks on me something was 3.50 she said no and it’s well worth it I was having a bad day I never forgot that lady I was crying the whole time. Drove near there a month later she still have it. Doesn’t cost to be greedy and rude.

Those Murano glass clowns are money if you haven’t learned by now. I once passed on an entire table of all shapes and sizes at $2 a piece. Saw them again later down the road and was almost sick to myself. Some are worth hundreds and yours even has the Murano sticker on it
I guess the days of scoring LPs and records are gone. I saw some speakers (maybe some potential there) at the multi-family sale where "Blue was crushing it," - did you by chance see what they were?

Why should you have to negotiate? It's your stuff and you shouldn't have to lower it just because someone else wants to make more money on your stuff when they resell it? I'm a reseller and I never ask for a discount. I either buy it or I don't.
I mean I'm not trying to say you are wrong negotiating but I understand people not wanting to go down on their prices either, and that I know people do business from this I would not lower it

I wish buyers wouldn't be so aggressive and end of the world in their messages. Have a buyer upset that a box received minor damage (although the item itself is fine) and was incredibly aggressive and rude in their message to me. They never asked for anything, never mentioned wanting to return it but it was a long message where they stated how "angry and horrified" they were. Mind you, it's not an expensive item. It's a $15 free shipping item. And I've shipped over a dozen of these and had no other issues. I almost offered a partial refund (which I've done before on other items) but with how they approached the message it left a bad taste in my mouth. I finally replied letting them know how sorry I was it arrived damaged and that I always endeavor to package items securely and that they were welcome to open a return for a full refund. Hopefully they were just wanting a partial refund (although they didn't ask anything and I almost ignored the message entirely) and since I didn't offer it they'll go away. Worst case, they send the return and I give them the refund. I know things get damaged and it's annoying (Amazon damages a good 50% of the things I get from them and USPS tends to lose stuff for a couple days before they deliver it) but simply messaging with some kindness would be nice. I've come to dread getting messages on eBay because 9/10 it's someone raging about something or another (although I've had some very kind messages from buyers happy with their items and many feedback praising my packaging).
My two tips for beginners are: 1) Don’t be afraid to make an offer on something, the worst they can say is no. (Bonus tip: Bundle stuff for discounts). 2) If you find something good, don’t set it down or come back for it later-someone else will likely come along and snag it.

Lots of sellers might think they go to church together, are neighbors, old friends/ classmates, or in some way real acquaintances. People see others from their past all the time so sellers probably give no thought to the interaction.
