Het AVROTROS Vrijdagconcert opent het seizoen in grootse bezetting: koor, orkest, solisten en met chef-dirigent van het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Karina Canellakis. Dit Openingsconcert weerspiegelt de kracht van het AVROTROS Vrijdagconcert: oog voor de rijke muziektraditie, een fijn afgestelde antenne voor vergeten werken en genieën én bijdragend aan de uitbreiding en vernieuwing van het repertoire.
De jong overleden Lili Boulanger ontving in 1913 met de cantate Faust et Hélène als eerste vrouw de Prix de Rome.

Her composition for the Prix de Rome on a "thème obligé"..... already beautiful things ... very good the orchestra and its dirigent ...Before writing with her own voice here we can hear some reminiscences of Wagner but the orchestration is very rich as always in the compositions of this beautiful young composer.. the tenor has a beautiful clear coulour of voice but the part seems to be hardto sing. Anyway a beautiful performance....i like a lot the Maestro..
She was on her way to become one of the great twentieth century composers until fate struck her.
