  • We review the book, How Democracies Die, and its highly relevant discussion of the rise of autocrats, Donald Trump, and how easily democracies fall. By Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt. As always, just our honest thoughts... no hate, ill will, or intolerance intended. Whatever your personal feelings, much love to you all.

Dave, I don't think I can read this right now. I'm well aware of how easily we can lose our representative democracy. We are on the brink. I so miss the days when we could discuss and argue policy without forgetting the importance of our country's very foundation. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. 💚🐶

Thank you so much for doing your part in keeping the dialogue open and sincere. I think most people are quite unsatisfied with the two choices we are to pick from. Ranked choice voting would alleviate so many systemic issues we have. Cheers.

Love the shirt and glad you are home safe. No doubt Olive was very excited to see you home. Enjoyed hearing your review of this book. You did an excellent job with many relevant points. Sad you would lose subscribers over this, you are stating your opinion based on the book and what you see happening.

I dunno how you got through this! I feel like it would just make me angry like talking to most of my coworkers (2A and hate the proper groups or keep walking til you get to a country where you’re wanted, yea I’ve been actually told that, or had folks proud that their child will probably get their butt handed to em for groping women that admittedly aren’t interested, but at least its proof the little criminal is straight 🙄🤬)
It gives me a bit of hope that you can be Republican, but not acting like Trump is just perfect in every way as I so often deal with. If more folks were like you, maybe we could actually find a not terrible middle ground.
As always, love the shirt and Olive is absolutely adorable and deserves all the treats!

@@BookBlather I got the impression that you've had cataracts treated, or in some other fashion had your corneas or retinas replaced surgically at some point, but even with that in mind I thought it was odd that it was both eyes! Pretty uncommon having to have such an extreme surgery in both eyes!
