Loved that episode, only wished it was a bit longer! Chinese muslim architecture is incredible, those carved wooden panels and roof support, wow! Keep up the good work Yan!
thank you for showing us these unseen China. I've been to Gansu, but only Lanzhou City. I would like to explore more Qinghai, but no time (I've graduated). this is very helpful, to fulfill my wish to see every mosque in China, especially on Silk Road.
I wish you all the best in fulfilling your wish, but it practically impossible to see every mosque in China because officially there are almost 40 thousands mosques in China, and they are present in every province or municipal in the country. 😄
When I visited Uzbekistan last year, especially as we drove north from Samarkand, I imagined it to be the area of the Great Superstore of the Silk Road. The area of this week's video brings to mind a similar image of a huge meeting place for the old Silk Road traders, where the great caravans rested before moving on. The hustle and bustle and noise echoing off the great towering cliffs of the Yellow River must have been awesome. Your narrative, full of intelligence, is wonderful. The carved artwork in the woodwork and metalwork is so incredibly beautiful, as are the rooftops of the minarets. For me, a magic video.
Your selection of music when you show us the landscape of the beautiful country of China speaks volumes about you and the people of China. God bless you all.
One suggestion: in future videos, when you mention Chinese dynasties (for example, Tang Dynasty), can you please add the actual date or centuries as well (e.g. the 9th century)? Not everyone is familiar with Chinese history
It's really not that difficult and if you're consuming Chinese content you'll have to learn the basics anyway. Yuan dynasty is the Mongol one, so if you know even just European history you know roughly when the Mongols were around. Qing dynasty is the last one, before the modern times. Ming one is in between those two. Of the dynasties before that, Tang is 7th-9th century and Han is 2000 years ago. That covers almost all the mentions of dynasties. Another way to put it is: Han = the heyday of the Roman Empire, or the time of Jesus Christ. Tang = early medieval period (Charlemagne). Yuan = Mongols. Ming = late Middle Ages. Qing: Age of Reason or around the time of the French Revolution up to the beginning of the 20th century.
@@JosipC64 Well I clicked on this video out of nowehere, and I do not know chinese history. I see you compared it to knowing when roman times where.
