We had these in South Africa. As a child I loved sitting right in front on top in the double decker.

Why do some of these vintage buses have 2 gear shifter? One near the steering wheel and one on the floor. (In some)

Yeah Belchy 94 you do have to love the colours of the 80’s. I love the sound of the engine in the old Merc buses.

I remember catching them in the early 2000’s to school around 2001-02, remember the blue and white interior and the engine sound

The engine and gearbox has a very distinctive sound. 👍

@@generictube5898 I thought the sound of them was very loud and used to frighten me as a kid because I had sensory sensitivity. I did enjoy riding them though.

Pisses me off I can't recall the AEC Regal IVs in my childhood in the 70s even though I no doubt encountered them.
Only bus with that body I remember is one Leyland with that body in the early 80s and it was blue.

Most of the blue Leyland buses I can recall in the mid 80’s were the Leopard Mark II’s, however I too can remember traveling on a few AEC Regal IVs painted in the blue livery around 1980.

@@generictube5898 would have been south of 1980 as the last Regal IVs were withdrawn in December 1979.
Some were given the blue treatment during overhaul in the 70s.
The sole memory of that body was being driven past a blue Worldmaster parked outside Denistone East primary school and being awestruck at the sight of an older Leyland than the Leopards and it's split rear windows, the taillights with arrows in them and the word stop and the odd looking front -it was the later type body with standee windows.

Just FYI, they are an O305 (i.e. the letter "O" not the 0).

Yes it is an O and not a 0. My boo boo. I have now rectified in the description. Thank you for watching and pointing out my spelling mistake. I hope you enjoyed the video. 👍😉 🚎
