  • This is the latest in our series of Signal Controllers. This is designed to sit next to a turnout to indicate the direction of the turnout, typically in freight and switching yards. Our system uses the latest fiber optic with a matching Dwarf Signal (Available in N, HO , S and O scale).
You can also run fibers fro the Dwarf Signal Controller to your control PANEL so that you can simultaneously see the turnout direction from your panel.

Hey Jim, just wanted to say really enjoying the video you keep putting out - you guys seem to be iterating nicely (and quickly!) on your technology and everything in the MTC ecosystem works so well with each-other, very slick solution. Love how you're making this stuff modular and more approachable for people. I hope the next thing you tackle is crossing gates, was always a pain in the ass hunting down quality nji products for ho, and then the servo mechanism wasn't the most elegant. Thanks!

Hi there: I'd like to figure out how to signal a double crossover in N scale, using the Atlas N scale signals (common cathode LED's) and either Atlas #6 turnouts, or the Kato Unitrack System.

Our signaling system is independent of track and track power. In either of the cases you mentioned, Atlas or Kato, neither of them keep track of the turnout direction. For that you can use our coil detector for both 2-wire and 3-wire turnouts. The Coil Detector will trip the MTT Dwarf Controller (or any of our Signal Controllers) to show Thrown or Closed. It also remembers this state after power is turned off. JL

Where is the dcc wire coming from I must be missing something there ? Can you clue me in ! It doesn’t coke from the throttle so where is it coming from u mentioned it talking about the nce product

The two DCC rail power lines connect right to the power line going into the controller. In other words, track power also powers the Signal Controller and through that you can control them just like a DCC switch.

Anyway to put them next to some cars for scale reference? I'm interested in the HO ones but they look oversized in the video

Good suggestion. We will put this on the product page.

Does all of these connect together with your other signal controllers so when you throw a switch it tells a signal down the line or up the line what is going on ahead

The Dwarf Controller only responds to turnout events or single event sensors. The other Signal Controllers have a latching feature to hold the previous block from turning green until its block ahead is clear.

WE HAVE FULL INTERLOCKING as of December 1, 2021. Yes, this was added after the video was posted. A new video showing FULL interlocking all the way through the yard will be up next week. This works in both wired and DCC modes.

I’m building a new set would you recommend DC or DCC?

    • @ModelTrainTechnology

DCC has progressed so that there is a lot of support and new products that come with DCC capabilities. That makes deploying DCC a lot easier than ever. DCC is the way to go.
