Planning to have lasagna for new year’s eve. Failed to do it in Christmas Eve because there’s no stock of lasagna noodles in the groceries. We’ve been to a lot of grocery but no noodles to be seen :(. I’ll be making this recipe for lasagna pasta! Hoping for success 😂
I do. I par-boil them for about 15-30 seconds depending on thickness. However, I've seen it done via the no-boil method, so play around and see what you like best.
My daughter Saleha is going to make lasagna and chicken curry tomorrow because she has a food tech exam on Monday hope you will love her 2 dishes she makes ❤❤
HOLY SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this looks good. Much appreciated. I was not aware those mixers had this attachment. I thought it was weird buying a machine to stir, but this is cool. Or could buy the pasta thing by itself. It is a time saver?
Here I am a middle aged Kiwi bloke whose decided that I want to be a pasta King! (Indeed, my Grandmother was right ). "You have a long way to go." she would often say abouth pretty much everything. Good ole Nana.😍 : But your simple steps and engaging style has provided much encouragement. Thanks, you have a new sub! Keep em coming.
Yes. Typically, I par-boil them first before assembling the lasagna and lay in a single layer on clean kitchen towels (to prevent sticking). Play around with a version of this to suit your schedule.
@ThecleverCarrot have you always made the lasagna noodles the same day or can you do this ahead of time. A few days/week /how do you store them? Also, do you always parboil the lasagna sheets ?
No matter what i do the dough is too tough. 300g flour, 3 eggs 1 yolk. Just crumbly snd too hard to kneed or make into a ball. Not smooth or soft. This is probably the 10th video ive watched and i dont get it.
I want to make the lasagna noodles hours before I build my lasagne. Would the lasagna noodles be okay on the counter for a couple hours as long as I have it covered with parchment paper?
Yes. Moderate to cool room temperature is best (use your judgement). Do you par-boil your noodles? If so, you can do that in advance too, and build later.
This was so easy and fun to do, it's been a goal for 20 years to make lasagna noodles. And I finally did it!!! Thank you!!
Wow! So glad I could share in reaching that goal!! Have you made any lasagna recipes w/ your homemade lasagna noodles yet?!
Damn, only 20 years to gather willpower to do this is incredible force of will 😂
But it's never too late to just do it!

The pasta sheet looked awfully small- what size casserole dish would you use and how many layers would it make?
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I plan on making lasagna and have the exact pasta making attachment that I haven’t used yet
Question - do you have to boil the noodles after you make them? I assume no but wanted to confirm. Thank you!!
no, just put it in the oven with your ingredients!

whats the ratio of flour to eggs?
300 g flour, 3 eggs + an extra egg yolk.
Just got a pasta maker , and gonna make lasagna, thanks for the tip , ironically, my grandparent's are named Raffa too😊
How was it
@sallyliali7813 delish 😋
Do you have to cook them or something like that before using them?
Do you need to boil this pasta before building your lasagna?
Yeh for a couple minutes
Great question. I par-boil my sheets before assembling, about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on thickness.
I've tested this tried and true it will melt if you don't par boil I'm literally texting my neighbor as we speak about this very topic!
Excellent and clear directions. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Can you use stand up mixer with dough hook to mix the egg and flour?
YES you can, I always use it for making soup noodles for the whole year.
What number did you stop at for the noodle thickness
Beautiful.
Would like to know how to do this without a pasta machine too

U can use a rolling pin

Amazing! My daughter loves your video 😂
Awww, thank you! 💛
@Emilie Raffa TheCleverCarrot you're welcome! Thank you for the cool videos my kids and I enjoy watching, and cooking.
No salt?
No salt. I follow the traditional recipe using flour and eggs/yolk only. I salt the pasta water generously :)
Gorgeous!
And so are the lasagna noodles 😂
Can I make the noodles a couple hours before I put the lasagna together?
Yes. Typically, I par-boil them first before assembling the lasagna and lay in a single layer on clean kitchen towels (to prevent sticking). Play around with a version of this to suit your schedule.

Your video is straightforward with easy to understand instructions but please keep the camera from moving around too much 😭

Can I use King Arthur’s bread flour or AP Flour instead?
Absolutely. You'll get excellent results. I use it all the time!
