i think 70-80 are more suitable for green tree python(morelia viridis)
I got my first carpet python 2 day, he's a jungle and he's about 1 and a half months old . He isn't even a bit nippy either! So exiting!

From my experience, Carpets only need 70 to 80% humidity during shed. 40 to 60% RH is fine. Also, an 80 degree hot side seems low given the climate of their native land. My Irian Jaya likes a temp gradient of 90 to 78.
