We used to have wooden jeepnys too here in indonesia back in the 50's to 70's called oplets although they're mainly made out of Morris minor sedans instead of Jeep's, but local regulations banned this back in 1979 and they've been replaced by angkots which are basically the same thing but they're made of steel and are inspected yearly by the government. The newer angkots are usually made out of Isuzu Panthers or Mitsubishi L300s.

One thing for sure is in Indonesia all Vespa's rider are brother in truest senses of the word .... And that's an understatement here ... Forget to add the bonus here ... Modified Vespas are ticketedproof down here . Even the most hardcored highway patroller turn eye blind to them on daily bases... 😁😁😁
different outlook of things, if you go into forums, these vespa gembels are very much appriciated across the world. different people ride with different passions. Vespas are respected in Indonesia, its the bond within other Vespa riders that is truly amazing. its the unspoken rule that when you see a Vespa broke down on the side of the road, you stop and help. No other bike community do that. I've broken down on the side of the road with 2 sometimes 3 other Vespas stop by and help. Do i know them? absolutely not, are we brothers bound by a hobby? yes of course. I have also helped a Vespa broke down in front of my house, and he came back the next day with 5 course meal for me. Do i expect that? of course not. The ratty roddy Vespas on the video are on a whole different game, put aside the danger to themselves and others and you see some of the kindness, caring and fun people around. Their method of building, and safety may not be their priority, but something moving 40km/hour couldnt be anymore dangerous than people riding their bike thinking they're the next Marc Márquez. You see these kind of Vespa mostly outside of the city center, in a quieter part of town. there are still others that goes around the country in a more proper way ruclips.net/video/i2NFcMAdsYU/видео.html
My Supra Ceper motorcycle lights are off, the journey is still far and the night is getting darker. I can only see the road using the left turn signal. But suddenly there was a motorbike that kept following me behind. I slowed down, but he also slowed down. He continued to follow me and gave me light with his motorcycle headlight. I turned my motorbike to the gas station hoping he would follow me. But he kept going and waving his hand. I saw him using an old Vespa with round headlights. I spent the night at the gas station prayer room and hit the road again next morning. I also often hear from my friends about Vespa boys who often help motorcyclists who breakdown on the road.
This is dangerous! During one of my trip, I saw a truck almost hit this kind of bike because it was so low that the truck driver can't see it. Also where is the platenumber, tail lights, turn signals, mirrors, etc...?? I can tell you that this is illegal in Indonesia.

Finally someone talked about this, it happen more than 20 years phenomenon. They grew fast after reformation era.
I remember 9 years ago, my city chosen to held their annual event it made jam-up more than 3 days.
During my whole life as an Indonesian, it never occured to me that this vespa worth news attention. It actually does. And thank you for proving that I was wrong with this beautiful production.
those just aren't vespa's anymore, they're hella cool, vut they're no longer a vespa
It's no longer Vespa but it is Vespa extreme
Not cool. Its a junk. I never see well grown ups adult people ride on this.
Just because some foreign media reporting this, doesnt mean its cool

This must be Indonesia's bladed answer to the Philippines' jeepneys.
It is not actually. We have a similar thing to the Philippines' Jeepney. We call it "Metromini", very old frankenstein Japanese small buses
Don't forget angkot
And Bajay
Those are actually just tuk tuks but whatever
We used to have wooden jeepnys too here in indonesia back in the 50's to 70's called oplets although they're mainly made out of Morris minor sedans instead of Jeep's, but local regulations banned this back in 1979 and they've been replaced by angkots which are basically the same thing but they're made of steel and are inspected yearly by the government. The newer angkots are usually made out of Isuzu Panthers or Mitsubishi L300s.
@@thisdangoriginaldude1471 they are literally indian's bajaj, thats why its called bajay.
as an Indonesian i assure that the Scooter bike mentality is real. people outside of this group modified their bikes to the extreme but this is just a new level. it is kinda weird that an International YT Channel that would be the one who show me this unique people at my country. well bravo GBS you just show what not even any of local media here would.
@array s i didnt live in Java i live in Riau Islands, so that may explain why. but yeah i dont know that particular group exist but in my place there are those same group although they modified it extremely to gain speed at illegal races
mechanic: how many wheels u want?
me: yes.
"One Vespa, a million brothers"
I love that.
Can you imagine how a crash with one of those bikes must look?
Thats why theyre actually illegal
you couldn't tell because they look like they've been crashed ....like a pile of junk metal
Keren Aras the bike?
My dad actually accidentally ran over one of those bikes when he was driving truck. It's pretty nasty, human and bike parts everywhere.
@@achair9771 the customization, its only illegal if you ride it on the streets. There's not much of them on big cities, or they dont really take them out during the day. These rides are usually at night or at suburb region where laws arent as strict

Hey

different outlook of things, if you go into forums, these vespa gembels are very much appriciated across the world. different people ride with different passions.
You see these kind of Vespa mostly outside of the city center, in a quieter part of town.
there are still others that goes around the country in a more proper way

Indonesia : we have road vespa's extreme rider
