I just listened to the Eminem Show. So many tributes to his daughter. And that was a constant throughout his career. How many rappers do that?
He was my favorite artist growing up so it impacted me more than I knew. Haile is about my age. Now I have a daughter of my own and she is just as important to me as Halie was to Em.
Thanks Em for being vocal about fatherhood and doing whatever to keep them safe and valued.
I used to work as backroom security for multiple arenas, was often dealing with the artists themselves. And i was often surprised by how down to earth most of the real superstars were, while some C tier band acted like they were the shit. I've personally meet Beyonce and she were one of the most pleasant people i had to deal with, we had a 20 min conversation before the show.
And i know someone gonna ask me who were the most difficult people to deal with, and that were with out a doubt Avenged Sevenfold. The band didn't talk with each other at all, they demand to be escorted to the scene separately. So i had to run back and forth all night, they also complained about everything. They had American snacks and drinks specially imported, which was a nightmare to find amongst the 7 full trunks loads of equipment. I got yelled at by one of the members because i caught doing the biggest line of coke I've ever seen, we had to last minute rig up a special "changing room" behind the scene. So the members could do their drugs in peace between songs, and all that trouble for a shit concert which they didn't earn any money on because so many fans demanded refunds

After Beyoncé had Blue Ivy. She requested that we paint the Ravens locker room at M&T Bank Stadium White with white furniture and a brand new white baby crib. A crib that she left behind after the show was over.

What most people don’t realize is your rider comes out of your show payment a lot of the time. So the artists are essentially paying for it anyway.

I work as an Audio Engineer for a big rental company and often do festivals and big shows. I show up at 6AM and don't leave until 2AM on most days, sometimes even more. These artists are often late, rude, unprofessional and demanding. Luckily I don't have anything to do with the backstage riders, but their demands on-stage are sometimes even worse than the ones in this video regarding the back stage.

Ive had to fulfill some CRAZY riders working at venues for the past 15 years. Most artists don't care and just want to make sure you read the contract. I had one artist ask for a life size inflatable blow up doll (Not going to say who) and called and told his manager FUCK no lmao

I definitely wouldn't call that trolling; it was probably the only way for them to make sure that the venue followed instructions. If they failed to do so it could have posed a security hazard to the band and their crew.
