Tabuh Gilak Gong Gede Saih Pitu Sukawati - Jepun Bali & UNMB

This is one of our favorite new pieces to perform. It is part of the Gamelan Gong Gede Saih Pitu repertory, and we performed it during the
New Gamelan Welcoming Show, on the 18th of December 2023, at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
This performance was meant to be the official inauguration of the new gamelan set Semarandana, acquired by the National University of Music Bucharest in 2023 from Bali - Indonesia.
We aimed to show the multiple possibilities of Semarandana Gamelan, playing different pieces and dances, in various scales/modes.
The performers are students of the first year of study, in the Faculty of Interpretation, and members of Jepun Bali ensemble.
The students only learned how to play gamelan for a little more than 2 months, and they never saw gamelan instruments before.
