      The wedding/funeral episode has to be the funniest ever. With ma 'cursing' the wicked relative- "drop dead you spitrful old hag' to rock the boat dance to the spiked scones and toilet flooding. It is a truly amazing episode. I loved it and watched it over and over. All characters sparking off each other. Brilliant

      Golden Chanel, he’s old school catholic with two daughters, in his eyes no one will be ever good enough even if they are married with kids. He was the same with the guy from the photo development shop who came for tea and met them at the cinema. He’s not a bully if you watch them all he’s not directly hostile towards the men who’s not with his daughters.

There's plenty of cases of abusive husband's causing their wives to be meaner to their children, or negative bosses at long term jobs to take a negative effect on a worker's personality. It's more about a lack of control that feels regained when they portray the same behaviors that made them feel powerless as they finally feel in charge & safer.

      Noooo, not at all. Once you clock people like that, once you 'get' them, then you can see through the shite. I've always found myself befriending difficult people, once you break through that hard shell, there's usually a soft, fragile person hidden inside.

      Nah my father was like Joe. She had a loud mouth and he was aggressive. The only difference is that my father was physically abusive. Once you realize that they're just cowards and you actually fight back then they f*** off. That's all Joe's actually a big f****** coward. He picks on his son-in-law because he's a f****** coward and he knows that his son-in-law will never fight him back. Now it is son-in-law was actually aggressive and actually kick the s*** out of Joe. Joe would f*** off.

    Fun fact, the café scene is not filmed in Derry or near the County Donegal/Derry border. Its in a motorway café that has been shut down for years on the way to Belfast outside the village of Toome 😀

    I love Gerry..favorite moment was season 2 when he had joe,colm and joe friend in the car tracking down the president of the United States 😂😂😂😂😂😂Colm was just bangin on about presidents and Gerry just realizing he drove a a circle was pure hilarious, he was s9 aggravated
