      Lazy or inept research makes for significant financial risk.
      If I had a penny for each time I heard a businessowner trumpet about being "the first x business in the Gambia" when I already know of several very well established businesses in the Gambia within that niché.
      I must say it doesn't make me want to be a customer. I realise either they disrespect other businesses or they don't have the capacity to properly research for the context they are in.
      As a consumer here in Gambia I no longer wat to make someone else rich, I want to patronise business people (someone who offers a service or product I need and want, rather than too often feeling I 'should' support, with little or no reciprocation.

    I love this woman's philosophy of being oriented towards solutions.. Honestly, in my opinion I think in some places its better to create a foundation or non - profit ( NGO) that uses grants, aid , and fundraising to fill in the gaps. Creating a for profit business in a place that does very little to nurture business growth coupled with limited purchase power will likely strangle most businesses

    This might be a useful solution to develop, personal and home cooling. If a person has a refrigerator or if the environment has cool nighttime temperatures below 65F this method will allow the development a method for cooling. See the following video by NightHawkInLight "DIY Supermaterial Could Save You From Heatstroke: Salt based PCMs". It illustrates how to make a simple product using vacuum bags, towels, sheets, or blankets to make a large cooling cover which can be used in various ways to cool someone, for example cooling a seat, a cooling vest to be worn on a hot day, placed before a fan it can cool the air while a person sleeps etc. I hope that this helps.

    Interesting idea Zandela and a well thought out possible business idea however have u thought why hospitals don't provide food services as i feel it's actually a simple thing for them to implement or outsource. I guess you're thinking with your UK hat on. In Ghana there are many cases of people being refused to leave hospitals because they can't afford to pay their hospital bills and families will cook from home and bring food. I guess only the middle class or wealthy in private hospitals would be able to afford any hospital food program. But hey nothing ventured nothing gained i guess..

      Unfortunately, most diasporans returnees only target middle and upper class markets because that's the class they're aspiring to be and mingle with. Most of them tend to be indifferent to the struggles of most African ppl, who aren't members of said class. This is one of the many reasons they aren't always welcomed into whatever communities they settle in because they're more individualistic than communal.

    • @ThePinkPantha21
      @ThePinkPantha21 3 месяца назад +1

      @@everythingispolitics6526 I don't view it as indifference. People tend to integrate themselves in space that is similar to who they are and their life experiences. I feel like it takes a great deal of immersion to understand needs in most African countries because they look nothing like "western" countries. Even the most poor individual in say America, will have access to some type of resource that am impoverished African does not. It's a matter of resources and exposure. Alot of Africans arent exactly embracing of newness either, I've been married into a Nigerian family for over 20 years. Quite stubborn about any new way of doing things which adds to the divide.

    I am a Ghanaian and I am sorry but this idea to provide hospital food will not work! I don't know if you are aware that, very unfortunately in hospitals in West Africa patients pay for medication , gloves everything upfront!. Their families who are already having difficulty paying for all these things ,are looking for the cheapest food they can find and that is the local very cheap street food ! How much are you going to charge for your food to generate what a Westerner would consider profitable ? The wealthy have servants at home who will cook food and bring .Also there is a traditional food that people believe will strengthen them when they are in the hospital and that is what they cook .

    • @ThePinkPantha21
      @ThePinkPantha21 3 месяца назад +2

      I think a lot of us in "Western" societies don't understand just how blatantly divided classes are in other places because we have access to alot, even if we are considered "poor" where we live. Access is everything, we have great ideas and mean well but we really have to immerse in the communities to understand what need really looks like.

      @@ThePinkPantha21 I live in the village with my family by marriage I have lived here for 3 years and have not only had in laws in hospital but also friends who are Gambian and this is where I came up with the idea because people here complain about the lack of access to food around the hospitals and hospitals not providing food, as well as not always having transport to take food to the hospital 2 or 3 times a day. it is not because they have seen it in the west (most haven’t traveled) The thought behind this didn’t come from hospital experiences in the UK it came from what I have seen here and trying to find a solution. However my western experience sparked creating a video about it and also sharing hospital experiences from the west with my friends, family and followers here. If someone from the west comes up with a solution or an idea it doesn’t always mean it won’t work here it just means the structure, system and affordability of the plan may have to change to suit the need of the community as a whole and not just the individuals with a higher income. Everyone deserves access to decent food in hospitals.

    This is solid advice. I learnt alot by putting my ears to the ground and found the need in the community. My product sold out faster than I could keep up. I also discovered that I need a business that gives me daily turn over and a high end one that I show up at a farmers market and make a killing every two weeks. I added to it rental income and boom! So small daily returns , luxury goods for farmers markets and monthly passive income.

    • @taluj2298
      @taluj2298 3 месяца назад +1

      @@innocentnwafor4396 not food packaging but food production. The community where I was had a market for an underwhelming and cheaply chemically produced food. Having being in the food industry I did some back homework and created a farm to table organic version of it and that’s where I hit the right client base. Secondly still in the food space, I figured out a gap with affordable baked goods for breakfast and instead of selling them in bulk aka dozens or six I figured selling them in the quantity one could afford which is from one to however many and supplying other stores with whole sell prices gave me Daily Cash . ( I targeted to low to middle income with affordability and quality) lastly still in food the farmers markets is where the high end pastries make it. Visited it listened to what the gap was and created it. Farm to table concept again with the high end items that show up only on farmers market days from honey to coffee and pastries …… these earn the bulk head of the money.
      I followed the money in all these spaces. You find out the median income and make a quality good that’s affordable and profitable. Secondly the farm to table concept I take pride in knowing where my food comes from and how it’s grown. You learn to tell the true story of your ingredients. The audience and customer base here are willing to pay top dollar. My suggestion would be see what the supermarkets are importing and do your math to know if you can produce it locally at an affordable price with a profit magin. Approach the supermarket management and find out if they would be willing to buy locally produced. You will be surprised at the responses. Some if they are like those here will even tell you what they need. You can never go wrong in the food industry.
      All the best!

    Good idea in principle, but a nightmare to make a business case out of this. 98% of hospital patients there as the majority population has next to zero purchasing power. Hello, do you live in Gambia? 90% of Gambians buy their breakfast on the street. No one cooks or prepares breakfast at home like we did in Europe they buy bread with some sort of filling, small local street food sellers are everywhere and make huge combined sales on D100 dishes with people lining up breakfast and lunch time everywhere you go. It is not as complicated as you think it’s is very simple based on how food is sold here right now. When a patient is in hospital and needs breakfast their family member simply go outside to the street vendors, line up, get the food and go back inside but that is the problem if your family are not there the staff are not going outside to get you food. However it will require a coordinator, a sales rep, the cooks, the delivery staff etc. don’t all food base services require staffing and organization logistics? it’s a business not a hobby your trying to create.. We look at solutions not problems and a service starting with only 150 patience is not complicated we are not talking about 1500 meals.

      Hello Z, no, I do not live there but I have been there many years ago. You are right about the large number of food sellers about especially for breakfast and lunch! In a sense, yes, one could make a profit out of it, but at what cost. Selling food to hospital patients requires a lot of care, patient info, hygiene standards, etc. The legal and insurance risk will be so high I can't see how one could manage that successfully without cutting corners! A lot of the food sold in the street does not meet proper hygiene standards. Secondly, a lot of it is either high in fat, high in salt, or high in sugar, and god know what other bacteria! Give that to the wrong hospital patient, and you are likely to give them their final goodbye. The sad thing is nothing will come out of it. But the avarage gambian has acquired a taste for fatty, salty or sugary food. How do you wean them of this in hospitals? I used to be amazed seeing Gambians eating bread in the morning with a dollop of butter spread all over in that heat! It made me wonder why in most places I went, especially in govt offices people seem sleepy, slow and disinterested unless you show them money! Would have loved to visit your Smile restaurant before it closed. Keep going, you are doing so well. I do follow you!

    • @zandelalifestylebusiness
      @zandelalifestylebusiness  3 месяца назад +3

      I 100% agree and that’s part of the problem the quality of food from street vendors that people are eating. Many think family cook and bring but many do just buy from street vendors and that is definitely no good for any sick patients. The bread and room temp rice/meat is a recipe for disaster to many who are not sick so I can only imagine how it contributes towards the sick attempting to heal. All we can do is try and implement the changes here and pray it catching so traction because god knows the food in UK hospitals is definitely not of a high quality either.

I will definitely be doing a land video soon but land scamming is endless and comes from so many unexpected angles that even the companies and services that you expect to be honest and do the right checks turn out to be part of the scam. I’m very solution focused and I cannot find a solution for the government or individuals when it comes to some of these scams. I have land and have done all the checks but I’m blessed as my husband worked at physical planning for a very long time and never does anything with land unless it’s 100% certain to be conflict free. If your in UK wait for the cheap flights come out here and try to buy land when in the ground.
